Lootera (2013)
Finally a romantic movie worth falling in love with
Bollywood is well known for its love stories/sagas. It has been ages that it produced a movie that made an individual of any age, gender and generation fall in love with. This movie is a true romantic story. Yes it is adapted from the English Novel "The last Leaf" by O.Henry but it did justice to the novel. Lootera has it all- the falling in love, the heartbreak, betrayal and redemption. It was a movie that made me want to fall in love,to want to feel heartbreak and the agony of not being to able to move on from being betrayed. It was all portrayed in such a simple and powerful fashion. It was in the small things that the movie had such finesse. The silences in this movie made me hear my heart thump. The director has to be commended the highest of accolades for writing this story and executing it perfectly. The actors executed the subtle expressions and passion with conviction and power. Movies I believe (the good ones) are a work of art. Showing us how different lives can be,how different people can be,it can influence us to be happy, sad, feel for someone maybe not real but it paints us a picture. This picture was perfect,a perfect romantic picture of love,a work of art.
Looper (2012)
A must watch
Looper is a movie without a loophole-corny i know but its true!!! The script is solid, acting is par extraordinaire. Joseph-Gordon Levitt is definitely the soul of this movie. All the actors made the characters breathe an essence which is integral to the script and the director captured it the best way possible.
Every emotion however subtle was emoted beautifully. Mr.Levitts portrayal of being the angry young man with intensity and vulnerability is commendable. Miss Blunt and her pseudo son made a charming couple. The angst, the over protectiveness and her loneliness was depicted with such conviction that any mother will feel her pain. Then there is always the guarantee of what will happen when Bruce Willis has two guns and he's not a happy man.
Looper is one of those movies where the edge of your seat is your permanent residence till it ends. It is delightful to see how the story unravels and finishes with an exquisite bang at the end. A must watch.
The Bourne Legacy (2012)
Disappointed to no end.
I have never been this disappointed for a Bourne movie. Jeremy Runner did the best he could with the role given to him. But his character lacked everything that Jason Bourne had going for him-called a role/story/character. I cannot believe I had to endure this movie for 2 hours- and then suddenly realize it's the end of the movie when the finale score started. My husband and I reacted the same way,and I quote " that's it? the movie ended? so what was the story of the movie again?". This movie had some good actors in it,but however the caliber they possess a movie will not run if it doesn't have a bankable script. They didn't even have a kick-ass action sequence which Bourne movies are highly reputed for. It was more "run from action and scoot away on a bike" than beat up the bad guys. Disappointed.Period.
