I understand that this is television and anything goes. But how do you get your consciousness uploaded anywhere after your death? Fine if you know you're going to die, but if you'.re death is untimely, that usually means you didn't expect it. So what gives?

Just when you thought it couldn't get any sillier ...

Along comes this episode. Remember Doctor Who's The Master? Well, this Moriarty was drawn from that character. But with slightly less class.
I can't help but wonder if any other broadcaster than the BBC would have allowed this travesty to persist to the end. Maybe the end would have arrived much sooner. This is what happens when you let two egomaniac writers the run of the place.

What utter rubbish

Who are all of these people rating this series a ten? Are they all employees of the BBC? For crying out loud THIS IS NOT SHERLOCK HOLMES no matter how you slice it in order to convince yourselves. Admittedly this isn't the worst Sherlock but it is the absolutely most abysmal Watson. And the stories!! The production is designed to impress rather than to entertain. Obviously superficiality works wonders in the 21st Century. I suspect the biggest fans of this are also fans of the vapid superhero drivel we've been inundated with in the last two decades. I hope this review will be down voted by everyone who reads it - which will prove my point.
Sigh....

What????

Watson's behaviour and dialogue are so far off they make him look and sound like an idiot. It's a shameful way to treat an iconic literary character. Some reviewers appear to have never seen the real Sherlock Holmes. This is not Sherlock Holmes.
Good episode

Even though it expands on the shorter pilot episode (also A Study in Pink) I preferred the former to this full-length version. There's a satisfaction with "get-to-the-point" that I don't get from "let's make it longer."
Really?

THAT is Moriarty? Really? Of all the great actors that look like men they could have cast they chose a man-child. A pipsqueak? A Lilliputian? He's even shorter than Martin Freeman! :-) He couldn't even handle my sister. I can't wait to see him fight with Holmes at the falls. Great episode but really? Twenty-first century TV is so broken.

A very funny movie

This spoof is brilliant. It's crazy funny from beginning to end. It deserves to be mentioned more often in lists of the best comedies not simply the best spoofs. It has a sense of class that many others don't. It's a very well-made film. Yes, it's one of my favourites.
Well, well ...

Interesting isn't it? Sarah goes ballistic (as much as Sarah can go ballistic, which isn't all that dangerous!) when she finds out Johnny lied to her about Walt's death. Which I always find funny because women lie all the time and we still love them.
Another element I got a giggle out of is that Johnny talks to a priest about his lie on the same day sheriff Turner tells Sarah that Johnny knew Walt was going to die. That's one of the ways Hollywood makes people turn off their TV.

... by the only Range Rover in town? Sometimes things really don't make much sense do they? It's these details that make me turn off some episodes even if those details need to be part of the story. Surely they could have been handled in a more realistic way.
This makes no sense

Good performances by all but Johnny's behaviour was ridiculous and not related to his "problem". He got himself in trouble by not saying what he should have. He kept too many secrets in a way that hurt the show which could have been so much more. No to mention that one of the things that makes a Tv show tedious is lack of humour and this show was all about death and destruction.
Well...

Warning: Spoilers
Surprisingly well-made film about a subject that can easily lend itself to ridicule. Especially at a time when sci-fi was often sensationalist and attention-grabbing. The effects are well-done - the "bigness" of Scott's world (his house) and his short-lived stay in a dollhouse are fun to watch. The cat sequences are great.
One can imagine that Scott is to his home is almost what humanity is to the universe. There is no schlock here. Well-worth watching.
I'm not sure if my comments contain spoilers to be honest but I will click the Yes option just in case.

Why?

Awful film. Why does Bruce Willis, who must be wealthy by now, get involved in such terrible movies? Is that the best he can get? Surely not. This movie belongs on a list of "Movies that should not have been made, but were anyway." Did someone have too much money and wanted to pay less tax? :-) I'm disappointed Bruce. You should have better things to do with your time.
Hohum....

Why bother?

Other than watching a bunch of wonderful actors there is little reason to watch this series since there is most likely very little truth in the history. We have learned in the psst few years that much of what goes on behind the royal doors is often distorted for the benefit of the loving public. Still, if TV was real then it would probably be called something else! :-) And again, watching it for the wonderful acting is good enough for non-royalists, so enjoy.
What rubbish!

Who is it that keeps this show going?

She can't remember her name but she remembers the Doctor. And she ended the 100 years war. She's quite a creation isn't she? One of my sneezes could blow her over. I'd love to see what this show would be like if produced by not the BBC. Might be worse. Might be better. Might not be so ... feministic. Might be too ... testosteroonie. We will never know. The Doctor is supremely logical yet the women around him have made the show disappointingly illogical. I find that endlessly fascinating.

She falls 20 feet yet only her pride is hurt. How so very sweet. Companions invariably become unbearable (arrogant, pretentious, entitled, petulant...) and should be replaced every series. Davros has always been an impossibly dreary character. And the Daleks are the incompetents of the Universe. The Master/Mistress are always over-the-top characters that encourage you to search for a large grain of salt. I would love to watch episodes in which the companion does not appear. Why do they always have to be there? The show IS called Doctor Who. Not Doctor Who and his companion.
Ever after

Other than the doctor, River is my favourite Dr Who character. Of course, Alex Kingston has a lot to with that. She always elevates the episode. Perfect casting. This one was funny, often hilarious, but what makes it special is the most romantic ending I have yet seen. Somehow, I believe only Peter Capaldi (and possibly Chris Eccleston) could have pulled it off. And you don't even need to be a Whovian to enjoy it.

Surprise!

Warning: Spoilers
I'm not often surprised by television scripts but this episode did a number on my enviable record! :-) After all of his work Daredevil's efforts are thwarted by a surprise event that turns the tables on him. And wouldn't you know it: the change comes from the presence of a beautiful woman. :-)
I must say that in spite of the violence in this series the show is captivating and well paced. This is the great advantage of the story-based serial over the episodic one. There's time to flesh things out.
Yes, it does contain many clichés but I'm starting to think that it's almost impossible to make television without repeating what's been done before. We can only hope that's it's done well and Daredevil has done it pretty well so far. Great episode; not perfect but close.
