Prophetic?
8 December 2021
I'm watching this in December 2021 and I have to say it's really trippy that "we" are now in a pandemic world were a vaccine is being forced. Many of the world citizen's are in revolt.

1954 called, they want their "Creature From the Black Lagoon" costume back.

Warning: Spoilers
Yeah, that's what I saw, an Ed Woods type movie w/a twist. This time the creature gets the girl! He played it well, rather than being aggressive, this time he was the victim, and she fell into his rubber-suit arms... how romantic and sexual! Watch the original first, then compare the creature's features. Ideas are stolen and GDT stole an Oscar!

Elvis & Nixon (2016)
3/10
Why not write the script as it truly happened?
21 January 2020
Terrible casting, Elvis was the ultimate extrovert, very gregarious. A Las Vegas impersonator would have performed a more accurate portrayal. And, too bad the writer and/or director didn't read the Smithsonian archives, the truth is actually funnier, and more in line w/Elvis's personality. I mean - wardrobe dept. can't you at least get Elvis's bright purple outfit right? 🙄... I love Netflix, but possibly one of their worse movies per true story genre. And, why not play some actual Elvis music in a movie about Elvis?

Borgia (2011–2014)
9/10
This version is a Very addictive show! Much better than the Showtime one.
22 June 2018
I first started watching The Borgias made by Showtime; I quickly lost interest. They spent no time on the give and take negotiating and within an hour you see a very corrupt new pope already in and out of bed running around with several whores. It was kind of ridiculous the way Pope Alexander was introduced.

Borgia, a multi-country collaboration, starts off slower and we are introduced to a real man that is shrewd at bargaining. We watch a character arch that becomes more and more powerful, thus ruthless. The arch is shown with all the characters. This production is more engrossing, the writing is so much better.

Gambit (I) (2012)
9/10
Very funny situation comedy
11 May 2018
It uses a lot of puns; the hotel 'major' reference will leave you rolling. This movie doesn't beat you over the head with unrealistic comedy, nor does it over-explain the jokes, some of the humor is quite subtle. The younger crowd who love Seth Rogan-type movies will not 'get' this movie. Yet, Gambit is well written, and is a fun romp of witty entertainment. Alan Rickman (rip) was great as well as all the cast. BTW - they actually do have dog-riding cowmonkeys in Texas rodeos:).

A movie everyone should see
21 April 2018
I have Iranian friends who experienced the cultural/political overthrow of Iran, I was advised to watch this movie by a doctor friend. He said all his Christian and Jewish friends simply "disappeared". He told me many horror stories, he finally got to the UK. Another friend barely escaped Iran after her father paid Americans to get her to Bahrain. Both of her parents died in prison. So, this film is very accurate per many accounts.
