Benny Loves You (2019)
We Love Benny!
We watched this as part of the FrightFest 2020 digital festival and we loved every gory minute of it! I loved the jokes and the kills and little Benny himself was just too cute! I mean, yes he's a murderous toy, but how could you not love that little chap??
Surprisingly high quality effects considering the budget too
I just can't wait for this to get a wider release so I can share the love with everyone else!
Host (2020)
Blair Witch for 2020
This film taps into our current anxieties and fears during lockdown and tops them off with a heap of paranormal scares. The small talented cast keep you invested as you look in on those lives through their internet meeting.

I am a huge fan of Oz in all its guises but this was cringeworthy and disjointed from beginning to end. Somewhere at the heart of this there was possibly the seed of a good idea but it clearly got lost somewhere along the yellow brick road.
I am all for low budget but this was shocking, with PowerPoint presentation style "special effects" and graphics.
The fact that the actors constantly speak their thoughts out loud even when they are alone gives the film a "school play" feel and I was just left wondering what genre of film they were trying to make in the first place...I'm honestly not sure they knew.
I was also confused by the "creepy" warning at the beginning saying that it was unsuitable for younger viewers - very odd
