1899 (2022)
Watch till the end.
My advice: watch it till the end. It is one of this shows one step beyond the mainstream that is trying to deal with the illusionary fabric of reality and the great question: how does our mind work. What begins as David Lynch style mystery with weird characters on a ship to America, develops into a story about constructivism and awakening. The show always leaves you baffled about who is who and what is real? Step by step it unfolds more of its secrets but until the great final scene you will be wondering what the hell all thiamin about. If you like Westworld Matrix this Dark 2.0 will be your show!
Raised by Wolves: The Tree (2022)
Absolute highlight!!!
This episode is so weird and absolute epic, that it made this series to one of my favourites. It is a great piece of sci for art: great and absolute unique characters, a story that is so far fetched that you can't grasp it simply by binge watching it, weird spiritual elements that lay the foundation for potential spin offs, prequels, sequels...a whole universe of ideas! It is a shame HBO cancelled it. Please!!! Let it continue...in more shows, books, comics...whatever!
Westworld: Que Será, Será (2022)
Transcendency is circular
I can totally agree with all the people that say "It has become too complex, too confusing, too chaotic" But what I really love about Westworld is the consistency of symbolism throughout the whole show. It is all about transcendency. What began on a "smaller scale" in a few individuals in Season 1 and what was continued in more and more revolting and escaping hosts in Season 2, found it's turning point in Season 3, where humanity tried to escape (transcend) their own and highly predicted prison. All that found an end in Season 4, where it goes back to a smaller scale coming from what was thought a previous transcendental state of mind. And transcendency is what makes this a highly complex and yet philosophical show: transcendency can only be experienced symbolically, because our natural cosmos out of which we are created is an ever evolving habitat for mind and body alike. So whenever we think we have reached a new state of mind (we have transcended out of an old state of mind), we face new challenges and new obstacles that will lead on to a new kind of transcendence which will then start all over again, but on a new level of consciousness. Westworld describes this mechanism of inner evolution in a perfect way. But has to be very mythical and very complex and in the result of that very confusing to keep the narrative going. I can't wait to see Dolores' evolution in Season 5, where the whole thing goes back to its roots but on a new level of consciousness.
Homeland: Game On (2013)
Amazing
First I though Season 3 would focus more on the Personal Stories of the characters. I must admit that I was pretty annoyed by the Carrie is bipolar thing and wondered how long we would have to endure that. But, wow, the end of this episode is amazing!!! Won't spoil anything, but this is a great spy plot unfolding! Great!
