The League: The Au Pair (2011)
Weird
Watching this now and seeing that Allison Brie is the the au pair. An Oscar award winning actress being a few episode guest star? Bizarre. Wasn't enthralled by the show this time, despite I thought it was fun watching Allison Brie before she was super famous. Ruxin is still being quite obnoxious, and I don't know if it was said in this episode or not, but each time I hear "forever unclean" in that awful voice of his I die a little bit inside. Please stop writers. Please, dear lord, stop. It's awful, Ruxin is mostly awful unless he's being dry and not dramatic. Actually Andre seems to be one of the most likable characters in the show, with Taco being the clear front runner with a few mess ups every now and again.
The League: The Sukkah (2011)
Eh
Not the best episode. The whole thing makes me wonder how many people actually have to work to get their toddlers into special and prestigious schools. I've seen this on many shows, and have never heard of anyone in real life have to do this. Is it a big city thing? Also, I had no idea Ruxin was Jewish? I feel like this was just sprung on us a bit, and why is it important for his child to go to a Jewish school? Also, there's no way his wife would ever allow it, especially with him going behind her back to do it. Just confusing what his plan was. Also, this is another time where they definitely could have gone to jail for what they did.
The League: The Lockout (2011)
Bummer
Well that ended abruptly. Not a great first episode. The best part was the random NFL guys from the beginning, especially the corner (?) that represented an entire defense. Seth Rogan was weird in it, a better actor, but playing someone disgusting. Funniest part was when they met Raffi in the library and he threw his beer against the wall. Everything else about the episode was subpar and disgusting, as it usually is. Also, if they were going to make a porno, why would Andre be having sex with any women at all, let alone attractive women? Sounds like a win for him, especially since it says that he can be terrible in every way and still have sex with hot girls? Confusing story.
The League: The Sacko Bowl (2010)
Not so great
Again, not very funny. I couldn't find much that was good at all really in this episode. This may very well be my last episode that I'll watch, even though I was trying to get in the fantasy football headset by watching this. Maybe this is a watch with your friends kind of show. Ruxin wins the Shiva, which they still haven't repurposed from the awful Dre. With this, Ruxin was over the top disgusting, and not in a funny way in the slightest. My goal is to make it to the point where I have seen when it was first airing at the least, but right now that seems a hefty goal, as it's going downhill quite quickly. Hopefully Ruxin isn't as obnoxious in the following seasons, as he was getting better but now has quickly gotten worse.
The League: Kegel the Elf (2010)
Nah
Not sure why this one is rated so high? It was alright, but again heavy with just explicit material that there was no thinking behind the jokes. For people who have ever been in sports or environments where that type of joking is the norm, this show is below the norm of that type of humor. And even in those environments, smart humor is usually funnier anyways. I honestly can't really think of anything that even made me smirk in this one. Taco's Eggsmas wasn't good, the stink bombs weren't good, the swearing wasn't good, the radio call in wasn't good, Ellie wasn't good, just seemed like a down episode overall, which was rated high because of the swearing.
Supernatural: Fan Fiction (2014)
Awesome
I love episodes when they deal with the Supernatural series. I'm also very happy that Chuck is still alive and kicking. This raised a few questions however. Is Chuck a prophet? Was Kevin a prophet? Can they do the same things? Could Chuck read the demon tablet? Is the demon tablet still even a thing? Who has it? Anyways, back to this episode. Dean's reactions to everything in this was what made the episode so great. I've also noticed that there are actually books of supernatural, and I wonder if there really are followings that talk a lot about the love between the boys... Weird. And that Caliope had it right, the music was pretty good in this. Not South Park good, but still, much better than I would have thought for this series.
Supernatural: Ask Jeeves (2014)
Eh
An episode that seemed like a giant clue game. They went through each of the weapons pretty obviously, but I'm not sure if there was any mention of the rooms like the study and everything. Seemed a bit like a filler episode, unfortunately centered around a shifter, whose group has already had 3-4 episodes just on them, which means they're only going to get worse if they continue to throw shifters at us. I can't believe they've actually run out of different types monsters to take care of, and even if they have, what stops shows on the same channel from having cross overs? Maybe the CW should throw some meta-humans in or some vampires from the vampire diaries? I love it when Arrow and The Flash have cross over episodes, and they always seem to be rated 9-10 range.
Stranger Things: Chapter Eight: The Upside Down (2016)
Hmmm
Pretty good ending. El went out the way I thought she would, but her living in the woods was a surprise. How does she stay warm out there? Seems a bit silly for Hopper to allow her to live out there, he should take her in at least. Also, I'm extremely anxious to see what happens to Will. Was it an alien like thing where the monster was trying to lay eggs in him? I hope it's some mind control thing where Will is now an agent of the monster. Threw me off that Steve is still in the picture for Nancy, sucks for John I suppose. Bizarre how both the seemingly main characters in John and Michael got hosed as far as relationships go. Decent series overall, I wouldn't say the entire thing is worthy of it's 9 rating, more like an 8 I suppose, but I'm pretty harsh.
Stranger Things: Chapter Seven: The Bathtub (2016)
Slowwww
Wow I really think they're trying to slow us down. The only thing that has really changed is that the three groups are now working together. This whole episode seemed like it could have been done in about 20 minutes or less rather than the 45 it took to tell the story. All they have left is infiltrating the gate and closing it, which I think they could have gotten to at least the gate itself and then had the whole last episode be about what happens inside the gate and how they evade the monster. Now they've left the second expedition to figure out how to get to the gate, go in the gate, evade/defeat the monster, and rescue Will. And man Barb was destroyed. Gross.
Stranger Things: Chapter Six: The Monster (2016)
Boring
Not a lot of new stuff happened in this one. We find out that El opened the gate, John beats up Steve, sheriff and psycho track down El's fried mother. Pretty boring all around. Almost feels like a filler episode to set you up for the showdown to come, and I feel very strongly that El isn't gonna survive for them to retrieve Will. She's gonna sacrifice herself by pushing too far with her abilities it seems, and hopefully she takes "papa" along with her. I was hoping the sheriff would find El before the government does, but that looks extremely doubtful at this point, as the government has found her and has people everywhere now. Hopefully this ends better than just a showdown with the monster, but it feels as if that's all that's going to happen.
Stranger Things: Chapter Five: The Flea and the Acrobat (2016)
Uh oh
So it looks like El crossed too far over in her attempts at espionage for the department of energy. Sounds like they're just using the department as a good place to hide their experiments of the x- files nature. Nance travels over to the shadow vale and gets stuck there. Are the monsters the ones opening up the gates to and from the realm? How are they only staying open so long? The boys attempt to find one of these gates but El stops them, saying it isn't safe, then slamming one of them against a car. The kid made a good point, and I do think it's technically her fault the gates are opening, but was forced to by the government. My favorite sheriff is starting to act a bit bonkers as well as the mom unfortunately, and I hope they don't become super buds for the rest of the season.
Stranger Things: Chapter Four: The Body (2016)
Huh
Well things are starting to make sense to a few of the characters. Creep brother was found out, creep boyfriend has shown his true colors, and mom has completely lost it in her findings. The boys have figured out a little bit of El's powers, but they seem to take a pretty big toll on her each time. I'm thinking in order to get Will back, she's going to push herself to death and then talk something about friends back to Michael. The sheriff has almost lost it as much as the mom, beating up two police officers in this episode and then breaking into the energy place. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense in the long run. He's going to get arrested before uncovering anything important it looks like.
Supernatural: Soul Survivor (2014)
Stupid Angels
OK this is the epitome of the new found angel lameness. Hannah is thrown into a snack shelf. She's gonna get up and help the decrepit Cas right? No, stick a fork in her she's done. So dumb. At least this was at the hands of another angel and not a pack of bums. I used to like the bromance between Crowley and Dean, but now it's gotten really creepy. Also, why is Dean screaming like a lion roaring? Or a bear? Seems pretty silly. Also, why did this batch of blood have to have a priest bless it? And why did the priest even do it? Not a little weird? Also I expected something other than Dean just "waking up" from demondom. Pretty weird episode all around. At least Cas got some more grace, I was sick of hearing Hannah worry and him deflect.
Supernatural: Paper Moon (2014)
Girl is so annoying
I like the werewolf cure move. Good idea Dean. I hated those girls however. They both sucked. I have no idea why they would bring back this stupid girl from a terrible episode in the first place? She also looks way froggier in the face than she did in the last episode. I wish they would have outright killed her or something so there was no shot she would return, because that could be disastrous. They need to stop trying to force young adults into the show, because those episodes are almost always terrible. Also, the rule of one episode per type of monster is still holding true, as this was like the 5th centering on dumb werewolves.
Supernatural: Reichenbach (2014)
Aw Sad
Well demon Dean seems to have his days numbered. Lame. I wish he could hang around being crazy all the time. He also got super mean in this episode, which was a complete turn around from the last one. It was pretty awesome when Cole finally caught up to him and Dean destroyed him. Dean's condition brings up a lot of questions however. Can he like teleport like Crowley and the others can? Can he smoke out and possess people? Shouldn't he be rewarded for having his body right away? Cause I mean usually demons are made in hell after so much torture right? But Dean was automatically one. Also Cain was able to teleport right next to them in his bee costume. I guess we'll see if anything cool happens with Dean, but I doubt it now that fun killer Sam has got him.
Stranger Things: Chapter Three: Holly, Jolly (2016)
First Glimpse
Well we finally saw the monster. It was a pretty cool lead up to his unveiling, with the new system of talking with Will being developed kind of like the way they talked with Matt Damon in the Martian. Not sure how Will can still be alive after being found in the quarry, but I feel like he still is. The development of Eleven is extremely cliché, and I feel like we've seen this story a billion times before in Marvel comics and movies, and they usually don't turn out to be the greatest. Some powers and extensive lab training/experiments that don't create Wolverine usually flop (the first Deadpool in origins). Hopefully we don't obsess with Winona Ryder, because her craziness is on par with Michael Scott's awkwardness. Extremely difficult to watch.
Supernatural: King of the Damned (2014)
Lackluster
Abbadon dies in the third to last episode? What's going on here? I thought she'd go out in the finale along with Metatron. Also, if Abbadon is really gone, I'm a bit disappointed Metatron and her never even crossed paths, let alone teamed up. I'm really looking forward to seeing what Dean can do with the first blade, as we saw the force pull he used on it to bring it back. It was quite a lame battle between the two however, looking like Gohan in DBZ surprising Cell or something when Dean kept getting the upper hand on Abbadon. He's going to be a real handful I'm sure in the next couple of episodes. I could care less about the angel side of things really, this has been a let down of a season so far.
Supernatural: Stairway to Heaven (2014)
Hm
This was a really weird time to throw in Cas' base of operations. Seems like it went up overnight, and torn down in this episode. Also, these angels are really finnicky. If Metatron does fall to Cas in the next episode, I'm sure Cas will be a hero again, and they'll all follow him. Getting a bit annoying. The angel bomb stuff is pretty cool, I hope they use it sporadically in the show to come, but I'm afraid it could get overused pretty quickly too. I just had a thought. What happens if they do the angel ousting spell sending them back to heaven? Could they infiltrate heaven that way? Or would just nothing happen since it's mostly closed? Maybe they'll use it as a means to invade next episode.
Supernatural: Do You Believe in Miracles (2014)
Amazing Ending
The episode as a whole wasn't the greatest. I liked Gadreel going out in a blaze of glory, and I obviously love the ending. But I'll get to that. I did not like the bums murdering an angel. It seems like angels get weaker and weaker as time goes. Remember when Cas first showed up and the demons collectively crapped themselves? Now a group of bums can murder an angel when he still has his blade. Must have been some super strong bums. Also, I like that that lady is just hanging out there after being saved by Marv. OK, now for the ending. When I watched this episode I was spacing out a little bit at the end, because how many times have these two idiots died already? So I was all ready for a disappointing ending. Then I started listening to Crowley talk, and I was like whoa he's gonna live? And then Crowley started talking about "see what I see" and the camera was slowly panning to Dean's face and I stood up, by myself and said "no (expletive) way!" Could be my favorite finale just because of that part.
Supernatural: Black (2014)
Meh
Well Sam and Cas' stories were lame. Dean and Crowley's however were awesome. Dean singing karaoke hammered? Amazing. Foosball game intensity? Great. Bromance? I can dig it. I hope Dean is the big bad guy of this season, but I know there is no way his demondom will last that long. I was hoping this episode would be about Sam being a crazy person and hardly mention Dean at all. The talk with the gas station cashier was awesome but odd at the same time. That guy was pretty good for just being in that one part. I really hope Cas gets his stuff together because the coughing was irritating as heckfire in this one. Also I like the cover they had to do for Sam because of his wrestling debacle. The new guy hunting Dean is pretty alright, and I can't wait for him to catch him.
Supernatural: Bloodlines (2014)
Wow.
So I saw that this was a 5.9 rating for users before seeing the episode, and I thought, how could it be that bad? And then I found out that this episode was supposed to be a spin-off series for Supernatural, and thought "oh, well people must just not want the show to be split up." But then I saw the episode. Garbage. This is the worst rated episode of Supernatural for a very good reason. It's bad. All the monsters hanging out in a bar, the 5 monster families, a Romeo and Juliet mashing of monsters.... ugh. Also the Ennis guy was awful as well. Another over confident self righteous twit. Thank god this didn't get turned into a show, because I'd feel obligated to watch and suffer.
Supernatural: Mother's Little Helper (2014)
Bleh
Rating 7/10: Not awful, but not great either. I liked the flashback at first, but after a little bit it didn't really take off. Sure it explained Abbadon and how she got into the men of letters to wreak the massacre, but not so much in an interesting way. The stolen souls were almost a side note at the end, as they didn't really quantify how many souls she had taken by showing her army, or prove that they were loyal at all by showing one in action. Wish they could have sent someone back in time like Sam, because that's always an interesting gimmick when they do so. I like that they were able to keep the same actor as Henry Winchester, as he did well the last time as well as this time. Still bugs me that young Sam and Dean are constantly shifting.
Supernatural: Alex Annie Alexis Ann (2014)
Bleh
Rating 7/10: Not a huge fan of Jodie Mills. Really hope her character fizzles. I feel like this show strikes out quite a bit with female characters in general, but it could be just me. Lilith is really the only female character that I kind of enjoyed, and she wasn't even that great either. Anyways, Jodie sucked it up for this episode. Again we have a character that knows Sam and Dean, and still thinks she can do whatever they can. It's like the ghostfacers all over again. This story was believable, just very boring. Especially since it was Jodie doing the saving and not Sam and Dean. Also what were up with that girls eyes? Dean's eyes didn't do that when he was almost turned? Also, why didn't they use that cure they used on Dean that just made him throw everything up and then he was good to go?
Supernatural: Meta Fiction (2014)
Not Cool
Really uncool for making us think the trickster was back. Really super uncool. Not only on Metatron but for the writers to hint at him still being alive. Seems like Cas is finally gonna lead that army I suppose, which can only go terribly in the end. Boring. Things are seeming more and more predictable in the series, and it's starting to bother me quite a bit. I hope we get away from the demons and angels storyline completely at some point. Hell, I'd even accept aliens at this point. This is the second season in a row with just angels and demons being the main storyline, and it's getting awful repetitive. One thing that I did like about this is that Cas now knows all the references that are being made, which should make him a bit funnier.
Supernatural: #thinman (2014)
Not Supernatural?
These ghostfacers need to go. It bugs me they don't take Sam and Dean seriously, and I wish they'd eventually get the danger they're in. Just bugs me a bit. If someone is going to not take Sam and Dean seriously, then they eventually do (demons, angels, all monsters in general), but not these idiots. Also, there wasn't even a supernatural being in this one? That's not cool. Shame on you writers. I did sort of like the slenderman nod, but not if there wasn't an actually slenderman. This has to be the end of the ghostfacers, as they seemed to be in quite the fight due to the deceit. One can only hope I suppose. Again, any episode that isn't the main story line doesn't seem to be doing very well, and I wish they would plan out episodes like these to at least have some of the story line involved.
