Pathetic, Hilarious and Legacy unfulfilled
12 August 2012
Warning: Spoilers
A pathetic attempt to revive one of the greatest spy movie series, The Bourne Series, The Bourne Legacy fails dishearteningly to revive and capture the thrill, drama and excitement of Jason Bourne travelling, hunted and hunting around the globe.....a hard-hitting black ops task- force suddenly and inadvertently turns into a viral infection movie portrayed in a disgusting script, horrible sequences, hilarious background music and pathetic action melodrama. The tension, thrill, excitement and excellent action sequences of the earlier Bourne movies was all-tops-down lost in this new reboot. Aaron Cash never looked deadly or an important CIA spy went wrong and the antagonist, LARX 3, though was introduced at a top notch killing machine ultimately turned into a comic punk kid in the way. I, personally being a huge fan of both Matt Damon and Jeremy Renner, unbiasedly will give Matt Damon the definite edge.....one thing has been very clear from the movie that Aaron Cash is no Jason Bourne and Tony Gilroy is no Paul Greengrass......What the hell was Tony Gilroy thinking????

Christopher Nolan RISES beyond his extremities
20 July 2012
The Dark Knight Rises…a movie, or rather a sensation, that outstrips the extremity of storytelling. There is a fine line of difference between a hero and a superhero, but with Chris Nolan's 2008 "The Dark Knight", the entire definition of a superhero topsy-turvies. With "The Dark Knight Rises" Chris Nolan goes even further, with stunning storytelling potentialities. "The dark Knight Rises" is a superhero movie without a "superhero". Chris Nolan is incontrovertibly the GOD of modern film- making and with "The Dark Knight Rises" Nolan also rises to a whole new level. The Dark Knight Rises tells Blake's story as much as it does Bruce Wayne's, and while to say much more would spoil the fun, Gordon- Levitt's character arc is perhaps the juiciest and most compellingly plotted of the trilogy. As a villain, Bane might lack the Joker's iconic quality, but Hardy still commands attention in a film groaning with attention-commanders. Nolan's sheer audacity makes the stakes feel skin- pricklingly high. If he is prepared to go this far, I often found myself wondering, just how far is he prepared to go? Well, the answer is further than any other superhero film I can think of: after a breathless, bravura final act, a nuclear payload of catharsis brings The Dark Knight Rises, and the Batman legend, to a ferociously satisfying climax. I don't know which idiots gives this movie a negative rating, they might well as go for a brain surgery……all in all, with gripping sequences, austere moments and cutting-edge thrill ride, "The Dark Knight Rises" will shine brightly as always as the crowning star of Nolan's to-be epic career…..

Lie to Me (2009–2011)

Demanding a revival of Lie to Me
25 June 2012
Please please please revive this series. Please don't let this stop. This series is excellent with Tim Roth doing wonders. The Crime Drama is absolutely fascinating and unbelievable. It will be a sheer injustice to the viewers and the fans for stopping this show. I would like to request all the creators of Lie to Me to revive for further seasons. It has a healthy viewership all over the globe and also in India where it is broadcasted late. Tim Roth is excellent. So are the stories and sequences. It's pretty unfair that season 4 was cancelled though it had high hopes. I am sure that upcoming seasons would be better than that of the last ones. So if any of the creators is watching, I plead to them for a revival of Lie to Me for more seasons....

Agneepath (2012)
8/10
Not the best remake yet 3 hours of absolute brilliance!!
28 January 2012
Remakes of the brand movies, though the trend has been dolled up since the outset, has now turned a formulaic fashion in the Hindi film industry. Doing downright plenary justice to the original cult classic, Karan Johar's "Agneepath": leaves a definite mark as mesmerized and stupefied audiences leave the theatres after 3 hours of absolute brilliance. Slightly different from the original storyline, the characterizations though drastically changed, some characters being used well and few being misused badly, Agneepath provides intense drama, action, vengeance, violence and none the less adrenalin boost. Sanjay Dutt doing absolute and imperfectuous justice to his own role and showed with distinction that given a good script and strong character he can prove his acting prowess. Rishi Kapoor takes a turn about from his chocolate boy status to an astounding performance. Hrithik takes the film absolutely on his shoulder and though unmatched with the original national award winning performance of Mr. Amitabh Bachchaan, definitely succeeds in leaving a mark. While making a cult classic, comparisons are inevitable. But Karan Malhotra plays it safe and changes the story to a certain extend to make it a contemporary fresh film with a flashback of the 80's era. Not the best of remakes but definitely Agneepath as a film doesn't fail to entertain. And in the end, a question inevitably arises: is the vacant space left by Mr. Amitabh Bachachaan been rightfully succeeded by Hrithik Roshan or will Abhishek Bachchaan be gearing up to rise from the ashes and reclaim his father's shoes……..

Sherlock: The Hounds of Baskerville (2012)
Season 2, Episode 2
10/10
Thank you Mr. Sherlock Holmes(Benedict)...you just made my year.....
9 January 2012
The Hounds of Baskerville-the name itself is enough to percuss a cold flutter down the spine as Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss returns with frightening, impressive, imposing, stupefying, astonishing, breathtaking, confounding and all-heads-bowing chirography of feasibly and arguably the best detective sleuth of all time. Portrayed a high- tech gizmo whizz-bang adventure, Benedict Cumberbatch emancipated his best so far. The script, which according to me is better than the original novel, presents us with enough astoundments, astonishments, unpredictable, abhorrent, frightful, heart-racing moments and mind shattering sequences that has left me with a bad hangover. Cleverly maneuvered in an extraordinarily fanatical and fervent way as Sherlock Holmes dashes through the dark side of the Moore with fear thumping through his heart and nerves..hats off to the creators and a big THANK YOU to them to present us with such a script and such blazingly plotted sequences.....the ending had an intense anxiety, apprehension and titillation in itself making us only wonder that the season finale is going to be even more destructive and mortiferous than all the previous ones.........

An instant timeless classic and filled with FUN, LAUGHTER and INTENSE SUSPENSE with the magical touches of Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson
14 November 2011
With a fabulous coalition of three of the best stories of Herge's original series, Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson's 1st animated foray The Adventures of Tintin The Secret of the Unicorn do not thwart the tintin lovers for even a brief instance. An all-encompassing and psychoactive use of humanoid CGI , following the steps of the successful venture The Polar Express, Spielberg imparts us with a spectacular whizz-bang adventure that coheres you to the edges of your seats especially during the action-comedy-adventure packed legendary second half. A smartly crafted screenplay by Steven Moffat (creator of the famous BBC TV series Sherlock), Spielberg's Tintin is one helluva ride that digs into your very favorite childhood hero. An excellent insinuation into the Herge's world with spectacular characterization and drastic dramatic changes into the plot, Spielberg creates yet another masterpiece and an instant timeless classic. Similar to Feluda's Jatayu, Tintin's Haddock creates an immaculate comic timing and magnificently crafted suspense which stays true to the lively spirit and ample humor of Herge's volumes. Pleasurable, idyllic and something that adheres to your mind like that of the taste of chocolate to your mouth, Spielberg caters us with an all-in-all common adventure-comedy whizz like that of the Indiana Jones genre...... Spielberg outdoes himself yet again as he plays on his favorite turf of film making alongside The Lord of the Rings famed Peter Jackson, The Adventures of Tintin The Secret of the Unicorn may very well be a beginning of the all awaited Spielberg- Jackson era of splendid fill making....
