The Woodsman (2004)
Impressive movie
A very interesting movie, and great performance, specially from Kevin Bacon. I was looking for seeing it in Oscars. But, the deep and human stories, cannot touch the Hollywood's system. Perhaps, they prefer to avoid truths, it hearts or it gives away... Anyway, this movie can be appreciated by spectators and they can admire an actor complete and mature, perhaps one of the rare actors in USA's cinema of today. I liked the scenes, the discreetness of the scenarist, the zoom in Kevin Bacon face, as the feelings and the inner battle of the hero, were obvious, perhaps more eloquent than words. Nicole Cassel and all the cast did really a great job. Congratulations!
The River Wild (1994)
An interesting adventure's movie
Gail used to be an expert rafting. Years later, during a family excursion in a wild river, she finds out the nightmare. Two cruel bandits, in the same river, try to escape and need her to help them. The pictures of the river and the open country are magnificent and we don't really have violent scenes in this movie. I appreciated the "zoom" on the heroes' faces, as we can see their emotions and reactions. They all were good. Kevin Bacon, much younger than the experienced M. Streep stands by her equally and proves once more his great talent.
Trapped (2002)
A kidnapping story - Spoilers
This is the story of six people involved to a kidnapping (three kidnappers and the family). Even if the kid is trapped and a victim, as the movie goes on, we realize that they are all trapped and victims, from one way to another. The evolution is fast, because the whole story is developing in 24 hours. The sentiments of hate, pain, despair, revenge, push all the heroes to the edge. Remarkable is the acting of the little girl, expressive the eyes of the girl's mother and of course, best of all, Kevin Bacon's performance. His ability to reveal feelings and change expressions from one moment to another, I think it's amazing. But, I've found the car crashes at the end, rather exaggerating.
Stir of Echoes (1999)
Another wonderful performance of K. Bacon
I liked this movie. The scenario was telling the story of a young man of the next door, disappointed by his ordinary life (something very common to many of us). When he suddenly realizes another way of receiving messages and has to admit that there is something more than the external world we can see. The reaction, the acting of Kevin Bacon was once more unique and he gave his best I think. He offers us a real spectacle. Even than the film has a mystery, a kind of thriller.
Flatliners (1990)
Deep thoughts and touching performance from K.Bacon
I've found the theme of the movie really interesting, concerning questions about our inner self. Nice music. The five actors were very nice, but I liked most K. Bacon's performance. Anyway, it's a film good to choose.
