Jaadugar (2022)
One time watch, long and lot of fillers.
Okay, so the movie has it's moments. It has some nice fun moments, some emotional moments and some really boring moments. This movie is close to 3 hours and at times it felt as if they were dragging the movie with fillers. Everyone acted really good but when you drag things beyond a point people tend to get detached with characters. Maybe I watched the moview to feel lite but instead it felt closer to typical bollywood rom-com drama where at times jokes aren't that funny or smart. But yeah, it's a good one time watch.
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
Totally Random
This is one of the best science fiction movies of this year. Unlike so many other mind bending movies(which I totally enjoy) they have tried to keep the concept very simple and easy to grasp. Direction is just amazing, be it fignting scenes or Psychedelic jumps between multiple realities. Every single person has done a fabulous acting, there isn't a single character that I didn't like. A must watch for all the science fiction fans, you will definitely enjoy it.
Halo: Inheritance (2022)
Skip this episode
A whole episode dedicated to Kwan Ha, a cringy side plot that they are desperately trying to relate to the main story. And oh god that Kwan Ha character is so annoying, wannabe hero, constant shouting, angry towards everyone and absolutely bad acting. I would say you can safely skip this episode and and still won't miss a thing. I hope this is not where the show's downhill trajectory starts but sadly it seems the Kwan Ha character is going to stay.
Foundation: The Missing Piece (2021)
Little better than 'meh..' but still a lot of fillers
This is just a "meh" episode, maube little better. There are 3 parallel stories in this episode, 1 completely negates whatever was done on that story line, second was a complete filler with almost no progess or so, 3rd was a take on Empire which is kinda unique but I am not sure it will add much to the overall story. And oh god that "Gale" or "Gail" or whatever is such a cry baby character, why they even introduced her.
Foundation: Death and the Maiden (2021)
Downhill continues
It is a classic filler episode, very much random, lacks connectivity and purpose. I think they reached a point in the story where way too many things needed explaination and they ended up doing random things.
Foundation: The Mathematician's Ghost (2021)
Oh boy, it is going downhill.
I don't know how Asimov Este allowed it to happen.
Difference between book and show is fine as long as the story makes sense, plot is coherent and engaging. But here you will find none of it. I don't even know about any of the characters to care about, there abrupt jumps in story.
AND FOR THE GOD'S SAKE PLEASE DON'T FORCE CHEAP ROMANCE IN EVERYTHING, EVERY EPISODE. Creative choices are fine but not at the cost of story and engagement.
Foundation: The Emperor's Peace (2021)
A good start
As a huge fan of the books I was looking forward to the setup of the 1st episode. And to be frank I am not disappointed, there are a lot of new creative and plot choices that went in there which gives it a diffeent tone. I knew they won't copy-paste the books, and that is a good thing. Ignore those who are comparing it with the actual series, nothing can match it and if you go in with that mindset you will for sure enjoy it.(atleast the 1st episode)
P. S. I liked the depiction of Trantor.
Foundation: Preparing to Live (2021)
Cheap rom-sci-fi and absurd plot
A downhill from the 1st episode. I really hope they bring it back on the track. 2nd episode was like an adoption of cheap romance scifi novel adoption.
And what the hell the ending ? It felt abrupt, incoherent and random.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
An absolute pain to watch. WB destroyed one more superhero.
Sadly this version of WW was an absolute pain to watch. See, when you watch a DC or Marvel superhero movie what you are expecting is a Superhero story, and what we got here was a lengthy romantic melodrama, philosophical quest, a broken hero and villain, lack of intensity and continuity. I would not spoil it for anyone but the ending is absolutely pathetic, there was absolutely no action there. The whole movie could have been done in 1hr 40 min. The first 40 min there was almost no progression of the story. Please save yourself from this abomination(yeah).
Raised by Wolves (2020)
Started good, lost it way.
This series showed great potential in first couple of of episodes and after that it was a gradual decline. Remembe the feeling when an episode ends and you are curious about what's next? I never got it after fist few episodes. They have introduced so many mysteries that I am quite sure they won't be able to close al the loops and there will a lot of abandoned plot/characters/history.
Also, they wil repeat few words(mother, father, sol) like a thousand times and it really annoyed me.
The Social Dilemma (2020)
People are thinking less, following more.
This will remind you the days when you used to think in your free time, instead of scrolling through the feeds. And that is true, the free time(me time) when people used to think and let their imagination take wings is gone. This documentary captures the concept really good.
Paatal Lok (2020)
must watch for both Indian and non-indian viewers alike. A great watch that shows the dark underbelly of the system.
Pataal Lok has been an overall great package, from great casting to exceptional delivery. The story itself is gripping and cover some of the crtitical issues about the system like brainwashing, hatred, LGBT and most important the broken machinery of the law enforcement. And the best part is, it is so subtle that without even explicitly saying it delivers the message. A must watch for both Indian and non-indian viewers alike.
Upload (2020)
Don't get your hopes hight after 1st episode
Show starts promising but fails to excite you in all other episodes. Watch this show just to kill time, don't expect a lot from it. A good scifi concept but equally bad CGI and "tech" references.
When They See Us (2019)
I had to stop watching it.
This show is so powerful and moving that I had to stop watching it for some time. It shakes you to the core, makes you really sad and angry at the same time.
The Flash (2014)
A SIMPLE GUIDE TO 'THE FLASH'
Cry about things - Make Mistake - Mess it up for everyone - Try to Fix it - Fix it - REPEAT
Lost in Space (2018)
Lost in Space: Dumb decisions and an annoying kid.
If you absolutely have shows with dumb to fit the plot and excessively annoying kid, avoid this show. Show had so much potential but wasted it on 'side quests' instead of the main story.
Ad Astra (2019)
Why? But why? Give me my 2 hours back.
There is absolutely no story at all, or atleast there is no purpose to whatever that is shown here. As simple as that.
P.S. If you are making a space movie, atleast please get the very basic science right.
Batwoman (2019)
Dialogues will give you some incurable disease
This show is so poorly written and acted that the dialogues and delivery might give you some incurable disease. And on top of that it is filled with cringe and stereotype.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 3: The Sin (2019)
Goosebumps, Literally.
This episode gave me goosebumps literally. Now the story begins. This is how you reboot, this is how you 'subvert fans' expectations', this is how walk among a cult like fan-base. Take all my money you Disney +.
The Mandalorian (2019)
A perfect recreation.
The practical effects are just beautiful, so good to see an engaging story.
The end credit usic is Godly and Classy.
This is a great start for Disney + and for viewers it gives us a great hope.
Game of Thrones: The Bells (2019)
Just an obligation now
Watching this show is not the same anymore. Earlier we used to be excited about every episode, now that we have already invested 8+ years it has become a kind of obligation. Watch it and get done with it. This particular episode was way too chaotic, nothing makes sense. Arya, Jon, Dany, Jamie - they all behaved out of character and randomly. It all felt as if show runners were running out of the time and tried to close as many loose ends possible without a proper closure. Also, is Winter there yet?
