A Man Called Otto (2022)
A Beautiful Film
Finally had the chance to watch this wonderful movie "A Man Called Otto." I'm so glad I did - The film is a moving and humorous exploration of grief, loss, love, and redemption. The film has a beautiful, understated quality that is both poignant and uplifting. It is a touching tribute to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of love and connection to heal even the deepest wounds. A reminder that we never really know another's background story. What an emotional rollercoaster, it makes you laugh and cry in equal measure! Reasons are revealed along the way with poignant flashbacks. I highly recommend it.
Law & Order: Class Retreat (2023)
is it Sam or Jack??
There's a scene when the ADA is walking through the office with DA Jack. He tefers to him as Sam...the actor Sam Waterston. First half of the show. It blew me away Check it out, i don't think i imagined hearing it. Where are the QC people??? Otherwise an excellent episode. It took awhile to find its bearings, but since around Episode 10, it's pretty much the classic Law & Order.....Dick Wolf........Also, this weeks. Episode of Organized Crime seemed to change formats. Instead of the unique one they established from the start, this latest seemed to adopt the "traditional " L & O pattern of the classic and SPU.
Home Before Dark (2020)
Masterpiece?
Season One: Beautifully written, directed and perfectly acted, Home Before Dark has got to be Apple +a crowning achievement. It's rare to watch a series that makes you feel as if you are THERE. If Season Two is anywhere close to this brilliance, I'm already there.
Rectify (2013)
Why must it end?
Rectify is one of those rare series; the kind that you never want to end. A special cinematic triumph that causes you to long for more. I'm gonna miss Ted, Teddy, Tawny, Jon, Jared, Janet and Daniel. Twists and turns, great acting, impeccable writing that encapsulates life in the rural South like nothing before it on television. Reserve a place in the fictional Television Hall of Fame for this epic.
Ray Donovan: You'll Never Walk Alone (2020)
One of the BEST series of all time!
Having watched all episodes, week by week since the start, I can safely say that Ray Donovan ranks second to The Sopranos all time. I hope for more, but if this was the series finale, it works for me. It tied everything together and elicited every emotion. Disappointed (if it's over) yet fulfilled if it's not.
