I am very, very impressed
11 March 2024
Saw this when I opened up Netflix and looked it up on here so I don't waste my time. So before going in I knew that this is a very low budget film shot on a crowd funding campaign for about 2.5 million which is pennies in film production terms.

Let me tell you. Absolutely nothing about this film feels low budget. The direction and cinematography are phenomenal. The special effects are so well done you would think this is high budget production for a big screen release worldwide. The actors though mostly unknowns do an amazing job. They even managed to get a few recognizable faces in there, especially the guy that plays Han in the Fast series.

The premise and story are quite interesting and kept me engaged. The script is well paced. I definitely recommend this to any fan of action/ science fiction films. On to watch part II.

Travelers: 17 Minutes (2017)
Season 2, Episode 7

Just skip it, adds nothing, ruins alot
19 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
First few minutes were very promising and I thought this would be a great episode. After the first 2 attempts I figured this is the Director running virtual simulations of how to conduct this mission, and we would get a small glimpse of how this quantum AI thinks and makes decisions.

After the third try I started getting suspicious. Why do the exact same thing time after time and expect a different result? They land in the same spot, run the same scenario, and fail every time.

By the end of the episode it's clear that it is completely idiotic, and by far the worst and only episode in the series I didn't like.

Final thought. These idiots are parachuting down. They know exactly where the team is. So why the hell would you not try to land as close to the team as possible?? Absolutely ridiculous.

This was truly something else
12 October 2023
Not much to say that others have not said already. This is one of the most gripping things I've ever seen on screen, television or movies, whatever.

Only a few words spoken in the entire episode, and the whole thing is basically non stop edge of your seat action thriller. I was silent the duration of the episode with my heart beating, eyes glued to the screen without thinking about anything else.

Truly an amazing achievement on behalf of everyone involved in making this. So far it has been my favorite episode of this series. Just wow. No other words can be said other than I'm absolutely stunned.

Amazing episode
11 October 2023
I watched this show for the first time a few years ago, and now on my second rewatch I realize that I didn't grasp how genius this show really is.

There's many standout episodes in this series of course, but this is one of my favorites. Seems like Elliot tries to really confront his self blame and depression through a conversation with a kid who obviously resonates with Elliot's inner child.

Just a great episode overall and Esmail deserves every bit of praise he got for writing and directing this show. Rami Malek is of course on top of his game as always and I think he's a fantastic actor overall, couldn't have been a better choice to play this character.

One of the best comedies I've ever seen
9 September 2023
If you love really, really raunchy comedies along the lines of Superbad, and you're an animal lover, this is a must see. It's such an awesome combination of very cute dogs and adult humor. I just got out of the theater and I'm still trying to process this movie. I absolutely loved everything about it, from the incredible dogs and voice acting, writing and directing.

Real word of warning. This is NOT a movie for children. So if you wanna take your family with little kids to a cute movie with talking dogs, this is the furthest thing from it. Within the first few minutes a couple with their 2 little kids walked out.

I'm a big fan of action. My favorites are movies like Lord of the Rings, Terminator 2, Predator, etc. But this was simply amazing.

Another amazing episode
30 January 2023
It's quite long, and there's a secondary story that at first may not make sense why it is there but in the end, it all comes together and honestly it's very heartwarming.

We further see the development of the main characters' relationship as they continue on their journey.

I've loved every episode so far but this third one is probably my favorite. I really hope the quality of this amazing show stays at the same level throughout the season.

HBO seems to have hit another jackpot for their new flagship and I'm glad it's already renewed for the second season. Amazing episode that could even serve as a standalone movie.

So far absolutely spectacular
28 January 2023
I never played the games and had no idea what they're even about. I believed they were a Play Station exclusive which I I don't play consoles.

But I always heard rave reviews about them so when I heard HBO is doing a video game adaptation, even though they usually don't work out, I was excited.

And oh my god after two episodes I'm absolutely blown away. This has the potential to be HBOs best show in years

Amazing cast, Pedro Pascal is great as always, awesome world building and of course production values like you would expect of HBO.

I usually try to wait until the season runs it's course to binge it, but this is definitely one I will be looking forward to every Sunday.

The fact that this has a lower rating that I expected says something
27 January 2023
First off I grew up in Russia. This guy is extremely intelligent, has been fighting against extreme corruption in Russia, and has balls the size of bowling balls.

Someone like him could have saved Russia but unfortunately got poisoned with Novichok, survived and as a true patriot decided to return to Russia and keep fighting. Now, if he's not dead already, will likely spend the rest of his days in prison in Siberia.

I highly recommend watching this documentary if you want to know more about why Russia, with so many kind and intelligent people is in the situation it is now. God bless the Russian people and I hope one day someone like Navalny can head up the government, not a dictator like Volodya.

Pathetic
15 October 2022
I don't watch these idiotic gorefest slashers but my girlfriend saw Kills on HBO and convinced me to watch it. I actually kind of enjoyed it to my surprise, I thought it was pretty funny.

So I figured what the hell let's go out to the movies to see this. Thank god it was on peacock and we decided to watch it home.

This is without a doubt one of the ten worst movies I've ever seen. If I ended up spending money to see this in theaters I would likely have become the next Michael whatever myself.

Boring, plotless, not scary or funny. Just 2 hours of hoping that Michael comes out and kills absolutely every character in the most brutal way possible.

My god that shot at the end set to David Bowie is one of the best I've ever seen on TV or a movie.

This was an amazing episode. No spoilers, watch for yourself. As I've said in reviews of a few episodes this season, this one for me cements it as being just as good as season 1.

The real Predator 2
5 August 2022
Awesome everything. This is what they should have done with the 2nd one instead of setting it in that garbage dump. Don't listen to the critics, the original predator was widely panned when it came out, and now look it's an all time action classic.

This movie was awesome. The setting, the action, the cast. Loved the new "tribal" Predator design. Cute dog. If you are a Predator fan this is a must see. From now on only the OG movie and this one are canon in my mind.

Let's face it. The 2nd movie was meh. Won't waste another breath on the AVP movies. Predators had an good original idea but too cringey and poorly executed. The Predator.... I turned off after 10 minutes.

This movie was awesome and a good return to form for a franchise that's been tortured by 35 years of garbage.

Also to the haters complaining that it's a woman in the title role and how woke Hollywood made her so strong. Have you idiots seen Alien1/2? What about Sarah Connor in T2? I'm fat from woke but I saw no problem at all with the role. I'd love to see any hater on here get into a fight with any Comanche from back then and see how you do.

I cannot believe that the show runners and the writers have listened to the fans!

Season 3 was a disaster. I was blown away by the first maybe 3 episodes due to the incredible production values. But then I could barely finish it with how bored I was.

But season 4...wow. Short of the great Anthony Hopkins, this is shaping up to be on par with season 1. Absolutely excellent everything in this episode and the past few. Episode 1 was a bit strange, but the rest of them. Bravo.

The Boys: The Instant White-Hot Wild (2022)

I love the Boys as much as anyone but
25 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Several things don't make sense at all

I know in a ridiculous show like this you need to suspend disbelief. But there is only so much that the writers can expect from the viewer.

Frenchie synthesized a nerve agent in 2 minutes that took a whole brigade of Soviet chemists years to develop? Meanwhile there's gunfire and fighting all around him?

And my biggest problem of all. Homelander is supposed to be the equivalent of Superman. Literally invincible to basically anything. It made sense that he was scared of soldier boy and his beam, but how the hell is a punch from Maeve gave him a nose bleed, and better yet she stabs him in the ear?

Now I also agree with the other reviewers saying that nothing at all changed for this series, nothing. Nobody dies, no breakthroughs.

The only change we see is that homelander is now together with his son. I love the fact they didn't kill him off because the actor that plays him is fantastic.

I guess we will see what the next season brings.

The acting, and especially the dialogue is the best bar none. The closest thing to this show is likely the wire. But the wire to me is far more than a tv show, so I don't really compare them.

But wow. I never played the games or care to, but always knew who master chief was and he's a badass super soldier in awesome armor. But this is not a good show.

Imagine watching the Mandalorian, but where 90 percent of the time Pascal is walking around without his armor suit moping around about his childhood. This is what Halo is.

A lot more sad than the original
27 April 2022
First off, I gotta say how amazed I am at Mike's incredible metabolism, especially at his age. Consuming what seems like 10s of thousands of calories a day and remaining in a great shape is truly admirable.

That being said, and I never thought I would say this, I truly feel bad for the guy's predicament with the government. I am amazed at his transformation and truly wish him the best in maintaining his new lifestyle and in future endeavors.

I'm not surprised at Pauly Ds success considering his newfound fame caused his DJ career to blow up. I never really liked the guy, he seems like an emotional black hole that thrives on drama but somehow manages not to start any himself. Great taste in cars though. However, that incredibly disturbing sex doll he brought to represent Sam is just awful on every level. Something is not right with his head.

The most surprising thing for me was Ronnie. Judging by his house and his car, he somehow seems to have managed to maintain his wealth over the years. This is likely the only reason that the doctors have not yet declared him brain dead and pulled the plug. Oh Ron, no matter how much vodka flows down your gullet it will not magically wash away your baby mama. Sam, congratulations.

Vinny. The one person who for the first 2 seasons of the OG show seemed like the only normal one. Carbohydrates are essential to maintain healthy brain function, and what you see from his behavior is a clear example of that. He is obviously not mentally or physically well, and is now just a tragic figure.

Snooki and Deena. Always have been bimbos with hardly half a brain cell to share in between the two. Finally, the alcohol has won and the last cell has left the building. Snooki's plastic surgeon however belongs in jail. That upper lip would let her smoke a cigarette in the rain with her hands tied behind her back.

J (woww) has obviously grown up. From what I remember she was the only one who was never an airhead. Now just a mom and wife.

The MVP here is Sammi who is the only one who had the brains not to show up to this train wreck again.

While the OG show was great purely as a guilty pleasure to watch how ridiculous these people are, this is just a sad attempt to milk some more money out of a dead "franchise"

Disclosure: grew up and went to high school in central NJ around when the OG show first came out, been to seaside heights dozens of times which was only a 20 minute drive down, snuck into Karma at 17, etc. I am on season 1 episode 5 and can no longer watch. If I do, I'm afraid I will have Ronnie's mental capacity by the end of the show.

Hilarious episode, you can tell that John is way more energetic in a live audience setting.

Amazing show
10 September 2021
One star off for them spending a little too much time on the disturbing relationship with Jimmy and his mother. Served no plot point and was unnecessary.

Steve Buscemi's performance is 10 stars as usual. Michael K Williams is.. wel.. Omar (RIP, such a big loss to the industry.

Now, the set design and production values. Absolutely perfect and in league with HBO's best show.

But the real standout is the actor that played Nucky as a young policeman. I've never seen an actor replicate his older counterpart in such a perfect way. Props to the casting directors for finding this actor, but special props to him in replicating Buscemis mannerisms in such a way that I was completely blown away.

Overall a perfect show. And it was such a treat to see so many cast members of the sopranos on it.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, binged the whole show in one night

Warning: Spoilers
First the good, reason for 5 stars. The shooting locations and production values are simply excellent. I honestly did not know that Mexico has so many places like that unless it's cartel owned. It exposes crazy gaps between the lives of the rich and poor in the country.

Really good performances from the Cesar actor, Elisa, and the main guy whose name I don't remember.

The show has many twists and cliffhangers that will keep you watching episode after episode.

Word of warning though there is one particular subplot/instance that was too disturbing even for me.

Now for the bad.

I'm taking 3 stars off for the ridiculous, unnecessary, and stupid amount of sex scenes. They last way too long, don't show anything, mean nothing, and occur criminally too often. By the third episode I ended up having to fast forward through all of them which is annoying.

2 stars off for a sort of a silly and unbelievable premise. And for some of the actors performances. The two brothers might as well have been mannequins. The mongoloid adopted son had me skip his scenes.

Then there's also so many stupid decisions that the characters make. Cesar sends his sicarios to simply shoot up the house and know the main character out. Why not just kill him and be done with it?? This is Mexico after all. The main character who's been in prison for 20 years comes out a master genius hacker who knows all current technology. Way too many flashbacks to his sister to the point where you'll be glad she's dead.

Overall it's worth a watch. The most impressive thing about this show by far are the filming locations, production values and how well the people at Netflix did the dubbing to English and sound design.

I think the best part about this show are all the side characters and their arcs. Pondy is the coolest. Everyone from rickety cricket to uncle jack, the "Jew" lawyer, Ben the soldier, they all make me laugh so hard every time.

This is now my favorite sitcom of all time. After that come the office, South Park and curb your enthusiasm.

Raunchy, dark humor. Hilarious, perfectly matched main cast and excellent, intelligent writing really make for a 10 out of 10 show.

As many predicted, after running out of GRRMs writing material, the quality with go down. It did. What's shocking is just how talentless the showrunners turned out to be when having to rely on their own material.

GRRM takes many years to write each book. They tried to do it in a year.

11/10 stars for seasons 1-6. Perfection 9/10 stars for season 7. Good but short and rushed

Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration So what do you do for work, Bob?

Absolutely the most rewatchable show ever made. Michael Scott may be the most adorable and hilarious character ever created. I've watched this show at least 7-8 times over. I put it on the TV to sleep every night.

Words can't describe how much I love this show. Michael of course is the star. But Jim and Pam is the best relationship I've ever seen on TV. Michael and Holly takes the top spot as wel. Ryan's story arc and his relationship with Kelly is absolutely hilarious. Creed, Meredith, Stanley and everyone else are such love able characters in their own way.

And of course let's not forget the character that's as iconic and essential to the show as Michael, Dwight Kurt Schrute.

I could keep going on and on but it's what it is. There's a reason why this show is rated so high and so many people are obsessed with it.

Threat lever what? Midnight Threat lever who? Michael Scarn
