The Garden: Commune or Cult (2023)
Loved what the series could be, missed opportunity imo
So first of all started watching the show bc of the fact they are an intentional community. I actually loved how the people came together and started building something.
It was a missed opportunity for the producers to not focus on this 'how to build' and the more interesting homesteading of it all. Instead they focused on drama and put ominous music behind normal footage. If they made it more on about 'how to build a community' it would reel in more people.
I wanna see Julia explain us how to build stuff. I wanna see Jag teach us about medicinal herbs. I wish it focused more on the people and whta they know and contribute. The fact they focused it as if being a cult just took away everything interesting. Like veryone can leave, everyone gets a vote, nobody is forced to participate, what is 'cult' about this?
Sidenote: Jessica saying the anarchist, egalitarian Garden is cult, but then being OK with Tyler's idea to become the dictator/leader was the most hilarious part.
Inventing Anna (2022)
Excellent portrayal including the accent
Giving 10 stars because to compensate all the bad reviews in here that don't understand the accent.
Anna in real life originally had a Russian English accent and tried to pass it off poorly as a German accent. Julia Garner represents Anna so well, including the movements like the hair touching, her instant emotion changes, manipulative side, the dream, the con.
GameStop: The Wall Street Hijack (2021)
Why a movie when the squeeze is still going on?
We're still in the middle of the squeeze and this movie makes it seem as if it already happened.
GameStopped (2021)
The story is not over
We're still in the middle of the squeeze and this movie is one of the tactics used by hedgefunds making people believe it as already happened.

Homecoming (2018)
Visually stunning film noir series
It seems a lot of people don't understand the craft and beauty of this show. If you enjoy film noir and Hitchock, you're in for a wild ride.
Visually it is striking: the vintage yellow and blue hues, the symmetrical interiors of Kubrick, the camera-angles and zooms from old thrillers. The music is uncomfortable at times, just as Hitchock's was.
The pacing is intentionally slow for creating suspense. I haven't gotten very far yet, but let me just describe a scene: the DoD agent is walking slowly through a stacked high warehouse, the lights are movement activated and flare up only as he passes. But they're just a tad too late,so the entire warehouse goes dark for just a split second. Combine this with the eerie music insinuating something bad. Each time one light fades, you're holding your breath to see if the next one will flare up.
If you like old classic movies, intelligent dialogues, beautiful styled shots, mindgames, suspense and thrillers, this is the show for you.
