Major tonal issues.
13 August 2023
Thia film was mediocre at best with the director confused on the tone of the movie. The plot of the movie was all over the place. First half was decent and it felt like a movie for the masses, and breadcrumbed enough for a good showdown. The second half was a major letdown, with the whole movie turning into a soap opera heist film with violence and comedy used in a bad taste. The whole 'son plotline' was unnecessary for the plot for a movie aimed for the masses. It added absolutely no value to the whole movie. Mohanlal, in his few scenes brought his screen presence and star power so did Shivanna. Vinayakan stole the whole show for me, brilliant and raw performance. He explored his role to an extreme, might I dare, like Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight! I wouldn't even be surprised if he wins a National award for this role. Rajini's star power is definitely felt, and that will the main contributor for the movie's financial success(along with the underdog BTS comeback aspect with the director Nelson and the southern industry's big star casting inclusions) Most of all there is no takeaways or a good message from the whole movie.

I'm not crying, you are crying!
16 January 2023
Starting with the intro credits of Gustavo Santonalla's legendary composition you know this episode is done with respect to the original. The grainy filter, the mind boggling action setpieces, the characters, the makeup(Oh, the makeup) and the haunting music.. this felt perfect. The acting is incredible, the direction was perfect! I know it's a bit too early to say how the rest of the season would be, but for a pilot episode I'd say this one was on of the best I've ever seen. Easily the best I've seen in the "zombie" genre.

I cannot wait for the next Sunday to watch the second. As one who adored the original and it's music this surpassed my expectations by a fair mile.

Peak Game of Thrones material!
19 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The consistency of the show is staggering!--- From the little nuances of the last rat shot, Sir Otto unknowingly hurting the horse while mounting, the King fighting through his dinner while an actual fight is brewing --- to --- the deep conversations and thoughts of the King about his legacy ---to--- the epic widescreen shots of the Runestone and Driftmark, this is high quality stuff. Epic in all ways. Other than this the show is decently paced and all the setup of the previous episodes have started to pay off, incredible writing. Also, what is a Westerosi wedding without a death?

Next Sunday can't come soon enough!!

TV shows do not make me cry..
31 August 2022
A shed a tear or two by the end, ngl here. This was a heartwarming season finale. It would be better if it's watched on as a combinational piece with the last episode, which was a hot box. This was more like the calm after the storm with pleasant surprises.. Great music, satisfying resolution is what this episode was. Also, I like it when they make it cheesy and the characters in a show get great payoffs and I was hoping they would do it in this. But they way they pulled it off was a nice surprise. Great stuff, would be very curious how would they pull off the next season, I really hope their problems would be outside the restaurant this time now that the family stuff is sorted out. 10/10.. Best TV I've seen in a long while.

A ticking time bomb.
31 August 2022
One of the best episodes of Television I've seen in my life. This was so engaging from the start till the credits rolls in, it's very rare for a show/movie to invoke so many emotions like this episode did. And the build up for this was set throughout from start of the series and everything lead to this. Also the whole episode seems like it was filmed in a single take(i didn't fact check it) but not for the sake of cinematography alone, it really had a story to tell, things to accomplish! And the claustrophobic kitchen was the perfect stage for that.. I would be very surprised and disappointed if this episode does not win or get nominated for an Emmy! Also the way it ended with the music and all, it almost felt like I heard a bang. 11/10.

A rare combination!
29 August 2022
For anyone wondering if the show may drop down a bit after it's pilot with it's quality, fear not. It is as good as the first. Instead of introducing new characters or locations this episode sunk in to the King and the realm's affairs. Most of the episode was centered around a few characters, which made it a focussed watch with great resolution. This makes this episode conclusive in itself but still breadcrumbing us enough to want for more. Also, this is television epicness of unmatchable quality with it's locations, set-pieces, and music. The music, the new Rhaenyra theme stands out! From the first episode I was expecting the show to use Dany's Dragons theme for Rhaenyra but the new one surprised me.

I felt odd with the intro theme with it's music choice at first but I see why they did that, great intro visuals too. Great dramatic storytelling with higest movie production value is a rare combination, this show has that so far. It's good to see that the show is not getting a 'lesser valued prequel' treatment, it feels like the next season of GoT with it's production but the first seasons of GoT with it's drama.

Huge potential!
22 August 2022
The set-pieces, locations, tonality, action, drama, unpredictability.. it's all there. The pilot had enough seeds sown for the dynamics between the new characters be clear enough, this setup was great. These days when fantasy/period-piece television feels diluted and fake, this was very convincing, It felt like Ridley Scott quality with its tone. It has a very epic feel to it, which 'Game of Thrones' had, that uniqueness of a low-fantasy epic grounded in raw reality. Definitely worth watching, can't wait for the next episode! Letsgooo.

What a pleasant surprise!
16 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
When you expected the least Peter Gould throwed us a curve ball in the beautiful conclusion to the lengendary saga. Towards the end of the season, I was very frustrated on how would the showrunners conclude this series and resolve the threads woven throughout the 6 seasons, but they pulled it off just like they did 'Felina'. BCS was never a BB and I respect that it stayed on its own lane, thinking back in a retrospective way now that it's done. It was always about the law and it ended that way. Also, making it a redemption story also sends in a very lasting positive message for the series.

Spine chilling
2 August 2022
This episode was as chilling as "Memories of Murder". It was extremely sad and touching. Only a few crime mysteries have had this effect when it came to 'seriel-killer' storytelling. Acting is top notch. It's more sad and depressing when we watch it as entertainment but something like this had really happened. Ha, atleast it's educational to be cautious on the strangers you may meet. Impactful episode..

Phenomenal writing!
8 July 2022
Watching the Boys finale, made Thor 4(which I saw last night)a distant memory for me(no disrespect but watching a season finale felt more rewarding than a AAA film)..The last episode focused all the storylines that were building up for this season(like a pyramid), but the writers pulled off this unsurmountable challenge of resolving every plotlines perfectly without leaving us feeling unsatisfied by any means!

A handful of enthralling moments, some pretty well written comedic liners(I'm looking at you Frenchie), excellent classic song choices as always(Perr-fecct song-casting!) and still leaving us with room for more resolution in the coming seasons.. Brilliant writing!

An easy 10/10 for me...loved it.

"So you are a car guy as well" XXD.. I love it!
6 July 2022
Normally I hate it when studios meddle with actual history for plot, but this was well done.. The creators actually researched about the scenario during the Indo-Pak division and did it in a heart-wrenching way. Most actors in the show did a decent job but I gotta give a shoutout to Ms. Zenobia Shroff who played as Kamala's Mom did a phenomenal job of portraying a typical Indian Mother(not stereotypical). Also as an Indian, I felt it was so heart warming to see that they pictured the actual fact that the people of the two countries are brothers and they actually do love each other(and instigators(inside ones and outside ones) were the ones who brought all the hatred for their selfish reasons). Overall a decent watch, the storyline is okay but the Desi representation is perr-fecct!(I can personally vouch for that)

7/10(+2 for doing so many things right that normal movies don't do for Desi representation).. Oh and some real funny lines too lol.

NEON DREAM!!🤖I don't get why the ratings are low
8 June 2022
This was easily the freshest superhero series I've seen in a while. The whole episode was beautiful to look at, and I didn't have any expectations to being with. This exceeded my expectations in every single was. The Desi heritage is acc not steriotypical and was not cringe to watch. Loved the wider MCU Easter eggs, it was not do on-the-face. Great acting, totally loved the chemistry and the reality of it! And most importantly this series is so beautifully shot, it's very neon, cyberpunky!! Brilliant, fresh stuff. Clearly stands out from the rest of the MCU. Can't wait for the next episodes!

This not very good is it?
27 May 2022
I think Disney approved this series as a mere catalogue addition to their service years ago and that sequels went on to be quite underwhelming which brought back the nostalgia of the prequels which was comparatively v. High in quality. This series is supposed to be the epic comeback of two of the biggest characters in movies in whole!, of the 2nd biggest franchise in the world. I was quite disappointed with the 1st two episodes ngl here.. This has turned out to be a throwaway, nothing new here for sure. The atmosphere was good , Ewan, the princess Leia child actor did their roles brilliantly, even though the story gives them no justice whatsoever. The antagonist(not Vader) is poorly written with cheesy dialogues and mediocre acting.

It is a good western drama until it hits you!
4 December 2021
Brilliantly shot, keeps you engaged and great acting overall.

The best part about the movie are the interpretations and perspectives. Movie like this with less exposition are rare as they come! It's one of those movies that you'll probably be reading about a lot to long after you are done seeing it.

Overall a great watch.............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

The best written show in recent times!
10 November 2020
Never relying on any cliché TV tropes, this series is consistently surprising me with its unexpected previous episode tie ins and dialogue. You see a scene in the second episode and wonder why it wasn't resolved fully.. You would be pleasantly surprised after a few episodes. And HARRY freakin' MELLING mann!!! The best acting performance in this episode. There comes a brilliant acting performance from an actor once in a while in a television series or a movie that moves you, count this as one! Watch out for this one bcs he's gonna be a prolific actooor!

Pilot Episode Part:2
9 November 2020
I was a bit worried when I saw the transition of Beth's younger self to her older self happened just at the start of the episode. But Anya Taylor Joy brilliantly carried the character smoothly, This is brilliant acting! This could be considered as the Pilot episode Part 2 because of the introduction of an older Beth hence the new actor. Surprisingly it was as good as or even better than the first. The momentum and pacing is great to say the least. 'Nuff said, onto the next one.. PS: Always a pleasure to see Mr Harry Melling!!

The child actor who played Elizabeth was brilliant. It was surprisingly funny and intense at the same time. Overall a great start, now I cant help but to watch the next episode. I cant vouch for the entire season just yet, but looking at the imdb ratings for the other episodes, looks like its only gonna get better!
