Unrealistic and far fetched
20 August 2023
So we have a young girl that can work the computer and phones faster than any hacker? Was she a high school student? Did she work in IT? She just happened to find all the passwords to everyone's account? Make FaceTime calls which only works from Apple to Apple? Sending in a Colombian cleaner to get security camera details in two seconds? Hollywood must think viewers are stupid.

It's was full of spoofs, bad acting; it had an unrealistic plot and plot twists. Bad bad bad movie. I wasted another 2 hours of my life. When are they going to start making a half decent realistic film and let the story do the work rather than technology.

It took me 4 minutes and 42 seconds to realise that this is so bad that I couldn't stand another second of this typical American "we are trying to be so funny but we are not" sense of what? Humor? I wouldn't even call it that. The acting is so bad and cringy that I had to turn it off.

I don't know where this story was going and I don't even want to know. Utter tripe this is. I can't believe some people watched this or gave this more than a 1 star rating.

I don't understand why producers create stuff for the sake of creating stuff. For once I would like to see some real comedy. I think I will stick with British or Irish series.

Dragged out
20 May 2023
I watch a lot of true crime series and this has got to be one of the most boring ones. Every episode starts the same. The first half hour is a long dragged out story about family life with lots of boring kids celebrating Christmas holidays and such, filmed in low quality video. Making the episodes 20 minutes long would have sufficed and made things more interesting. I had to plough lots of uninteresting domestic narrative to get to the actual factual. At least it isn't solely about naive pitiful victims that had it coming... It's all too predictable however and if you seen one you've seen enough!

Sméagol's revenge
7 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I used to like watching Luther, the series. It was exciting, thrilling and interesting. I'm not sure why producers chose to create a film rather than another series.

I like Andy Serkis as a person and he is a good actor yet they shouldn't have casted him for this Marvel-like madman type. Also, with his hoodie on, he reminds me too much of Gollem from Lord of the Rings.

Odette Raine, the new boss wasn't very convincing in her role. A lot of mediocre acting going. The script and plot were awful and unrealistic. Luther's fights and escape in and from prison. People jumping off roofs without any explanation, Luther and Raine walking through the bitter cold with normal clothing. Luther being under water for minutes but surviving. I could go on forever...

Obviously there will be another follow up judging by the last scene. I shan't be watching it.

A story about Corey
30 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is not, what I would call, a good end to this Halloween saga. Why introduce this weak character with some silly idea he could be Michael's successor? It almost felt writers and producers were unsure about how it should end. Perhaps too many people got involved and were at odds about the how's and what's and were lost at some point. And maybe the makers changed their minds in the end, Corey being killed after all.

The acting was ok. Even tho you can see Jamie Lee Curtis struggling with her part, she is still good in this role. A powerful woman with a powerful performance. Michael was weak and not a glimpse of my all time favorite slasher.

Restless time travel series about a narcissist
30 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It must have been hard for Colin Firth to act this role as he would have been trying to personify a man that was constantly lying and making stuff up as he went along. Sometimes it looks like bad acting but it's most possibly due to the fact that people seem to struggle knowing who or what Michael Peterson is. Is he a lying narcissistic sociopath? Yes, of course!

To me the whole thing was rather restless to watch as it went back and forth in time. Especially during the sentencing. I can't see the added value.

The original docu series was much better. You can see Peterson for who he is. No one shows himself up better than he himself. His demeanor says it all. How anyone can still have doubts whether or not he is the killer is beyond me. It's as clear as day. Also because of the similar case back in Germany. That would never happen twice...

Technically, I found that the prosecution did a poor job proving Peterson was guilty. All the blood and lacerations and lack of other dna, the deceit, the hidden porn, etc should have made a clear cut case.

Also, why did they not look at the possibility that Kathleen could have been pushed or kicked down the stairs? Perhaps the eagle was the culprit after all ;-)

Boring boring boring boring
29 September 2022
Nothing much is happening. Again, like in many other series, it is merely emo emo and more emo. Where's the action? Talk is cheap...and I'm not buying any! Not a patch on GOT!

Weak acting and actors. No plot yet after 5 episodes. Where are the writers going with this? I wish producers wouldn't do spin offs of series as there's not ever been one that is equal or better than the original.

And where are the dragons? Also, the clothing and hair and the wigs look cheap.

I hope it will get better...soon... or I may stop watching. Maybe one season will suffice. When is winter coming? I've said enough...

Good riddance
17 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I'm glad the parents died. They deserved it. Never seen such cowardice in all of my born days.

Movie could've been so much more. I was expecting some sort of retaliation or at least some resistance. The victims weren't bound and didn't try to stop the culprits.

It's also very predictable. You know when they leave the house something will happen that will interfere with their escape. Normally that's part of the suspense but in this movie it's sheer stupidity and ignorance...to the point I got frustrated watching it. And then they got stoned to death? Why not run at least if the killers don't have guns? Fair acting ruined by a weak story. Shame!

Boring but with decent finale
21 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The whole series is slow and and acting mediocre. The plot is boring and the story is rather predictable. Only the last half hour is ok. They could've fitted all this in a movie and leave out the obnoxious brother part for one. And the gangsters, who look like amateurs.

Messy
9 July 2022
The stories are ok. The camera work in the field is all over the place. The real time footage of the body cams is rather restless and sometimes it makes me feel dizzy watching it. And apart from the interviews with law enforcers, most of it is filmed with low resolution video.

It appears that a lot of these crimes happen in lower class families or areas. Often you see a house or a trailer full of crap or clutter if you will.

To summarize, the stories aren't bad but it leaves me with a messy feel. It shows you how messed up the USA is. Cluster, guns, drugs and booze... They need a president that really cares.

Bean vs Bee?
9 July 2022
The writers should've just used Bean for this as the resemblance is too much. Now it doesn't feel right. Moreover, this is for older viewers as this type of slapstick humor doesn't pique the interest of our younger generations. I guess it's funny sometimes but it's been done before.

A second season? Hmmm, I'm not sure...

As for Rowan: he is a good actor. Maybe he should try a serious role once. Or something like he did in Blackadder, his best work I think.

Just ok
28 June 2022
I basically watched it for the story, the chaos and the music, which was good. Acting was mediocre in parts. The lad playing McClaren looked about 12. It's sad it ended the way it did with Sid. I felt sorry for Glen Matlock. Lydon has always been an honest narcissistic idiot but perfect for the Pistols. Too much of Chrissie Hynde in this punkrockumentary however. This sums up my review. Cash for chaos...

Good solid series! The actress playing Elizabeth did a good job. Almost to the point that she started annoying me like the real Elizabeth. This is a welcome addition after watching the documentary The Inventor.

Boring
6 June 2022
This series is just not good enough. There's no climax. It is slow and the characters are annoying and don't evolve. Only the very first scene was funny. Went downhill from there. There is no message. Love me? Love who? Not exciting. Boring.

Mediocre
6 June 2022
Ricky had best stick to series like The Office, Derek, After Life, An Idiot Abroad, etc.

He is boring in stand up. Laughs at his own jokes. I maybe laughed once during the whole show. Calling people c*nts is been done before and old. I still like him as an individual but clearly stand up comedy is not his thing.

Lacks oomph
1 March 2022
I've seen most of Louis's documentaries over the years but I get the feeling he is losing his touch a little. He still asks the right questions but makes it too personal so the interviewees often end up swearing at him or kicking him out. His moral tone and inquisition gets on peoples nerves. The outcasts of society are an easy target. Perhaps a different or fresh approach is the way forward. And not in the USA again please.

Bad
16 January 2022
I liked Don Johnson in Miami Vice and in the first seasons of Nash Bridges and in Harley Davidson and the Marlboro man. Back then being funny kinda worked...sort of...But not now. Johnson shouldn't do comedy now as it looks unnatural.

Then the movie. Bad story, bad acting. Trying again to push the morality and gender agenda.

Cheech looks like and old dinosaur who's not really into his role. Normally cops retire at the age of 55, not 70+

I gave up after 40 minutes. No more Nash for me. The 1 star is for the Plymouth Barracuda.

Poor ending
10 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Why revive a series with a poor ending to another with a poor ending? A much better end could've been written followed up with more seasons. You just don't revive an old series after such a long time and then kill off the protagonist. I hope this won't be the start of another series with Harrison being the new Dexter. He is not a good actor and they should've casted a better, more suitable actor to play the part.

I would not have watched it had known how it was going to end like this. Disappointed! No more Dexter please!

Utter tripe
30 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Emmerdale most certainly needs some new writers as this show is now ridiculous beyond words. No wonder the competitors win all the tv awards and not this utter tripe. A serial killer roaming around the village with Dexter like moves, killing every Tom Dick and Harry and everyone is so stupid (including the police) that no one has any clue. Regarding Al, the producers make a mockery out of law enforcement. When the pub was burned down no evidence of arson was found whilst even a halfwit would know that in normal circumstances they would.

All soaps have these far fetched story lines but others seem to know when to bring them to an end. Emmerdale writers don't seem to have this skill and just milk a story line to its absolute death. Come on you guys, please try and make your stories just a little bit believable. Even Eastenders knows when enough is enough, and they are the show which depresses beyond all depression! I use to like watching this show as a bit of light relief but sorry, but no more, you have absolutely ruined it for me. Watch and learn how Corrie gets the right balance between drama, laughter and misery and apply accordingly. And get rid of your ridiculous writers.

Highly annoying
13 December 2021
The constant switching between the story and the people commenting made this hyped out documentary highly annoying. This Zebrowski guy looks and sounds like a sociopath himself. Nancy Glass looks scary, Ben Kissel looks hyperactive and so do all the others but for maybe 2. Why use so many storytellers? Switching back and forth gives the whole thing a fidgety feel to a degree that it's hard to focus on the actual story. And why sidetrack to other killers and make it even more distracting.

Perfectly dreadful
23 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It started off interesting but I immediately got annoyed by Flora and her over the top stiff-upper-lip English. On top of that she is a mediocre actress. The rest was boring. They could've and should've just made a movie out of this. It wasn't scary and the mixup of what was a dream and real wasn't logical. The whole story made no sense. Spoof: the lezza couple didn't age at all. Even after 15 years they still looked the same. And then the dreadful end. A sob story about a woman getting married? What has that got to do with the rest? Perfectly dreadful...

Not sure
19 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I am a fan of Bill Murray. I like the roles he plays and I think there's not much between the real him and the characters he portrays. I envy his raw honesty and sense of humor.

The movie starts out well and the story is funny and interesting but I feel that near the end Murray's character was killed.

From the scene in Mexico the story took a wrong turn. (they should've pursued the cheating man plot). The acting became mediocre at best. I felt the producers missed the boat by trying to focus too much on moralising Felix (Murray) rather than focussing on a satisfying finale.

Ps: I only just read that Rachida Jones is a daughter of Peggy Lipton. She had something about her, something of Peggy, one of my favourite Twin Peaks actresses. She played her part well but again from the Mexico bit it felt awkward.

Too much violence
5 May 2021
There too much violence in this series. It tried to make up for or cover a weak plot. The first episode was good. It was kind of a mix between Snatch and Peaky Blinders (they should've made it into a movie actually). Everything went downhill after that first episode. More ridiculous amounts of violence with more unrealistic plot twists. Shame. A failed attempt I'm afraid...

Ratched (2020)

Could've been so much more...
10 April 2021
I had to watch this as One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is one of my favorite films of all time. I had high hopes for it being related to it in some way, also because in the opening credits it suggests it is, but my...was I disappointed.

It seems that nowadays the film industry needs a lot of blood to create an interesting story rather than a good plot of some sort. This could have been such a great prequel to the film. All the writers had to do is look at the character and build a story around her that fits her personality. She was wicked and harsh in the film but certainly not evil. And with that they could've have given her a human side that could have made it slightly endearing. Yet the makers chose this turn it into some sort of cheap semi-horror story which isn't even scary. The Osgood part of it was simply ridiculous and shows lack of imagination for a half decent script. And why use music from Cape Fear? That's cheap and unoriginal. Surely someone could've come up with something new?

I do think the actors where well casted but found most of the acting mediocre, apart from nurse Ratched and Bucket. Ratched does have the same presence and stature and posture that the original had.

The visuals were over the top but I liked it, except for the bleeding lipstick. I loved the architecture, the cars, the landscapes. But again, sadly, this doesn't make a great story... It actually gave me this kind of Marvel series feel, which seems to be the "hype" these days. It goes to show that good things are better left be! Or been so much more...

The music was the best part
27 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
What I like about Woody Allen is that he's got great taste in music. I almost forgot what the movie was about whilst being swept away by Erroll Garner's piano music. That was also the better part of this mediocre flick with second rate acting.

This film was nice and light and slightly funny but it lacked too much in every department to make this a decent story. A weak plot doesn't help either. Gatsby did fit the part and I like his piano parts and his acting wasn't bad.

The rain in New York is always a wonderful sight. The movie however should've been called a misty day in New York as they played Misty more than once...
