Really very good, but why the false advertizing?
16 November 2021
Don't be fooled by the poor rating, this is actually pretty good, but I can understand why so many have voted it down.

Why call it "Penny Dreadful"? It has nothing to do with the first series, and even less to do with actual Victorian penny dreadfuls. People who were expecting more of the same from the first series haven't got it and are pissed off. There was the single bizarre moment where Roy Kinnear appears and you might think, "hold on, is this some misbegotten descendant of Frankenstein's monster?", but it's just a coincidence.

It doesn't need the Penny Dreadful name, it could stand up on its own and it's a completely different kind of story. Kinnear and Dormer are excellent.

Thunderbirds Are Go: Attack of the Reptiles (2017)
Season 2, Episode 17
10/10
A modern classic!
15 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
A nod to the old time Thunderbirds with live animals running around as "giants" on miniature sets. It's actually not done as well as the original, but they've made a good job of it.

Watch out for when Gordon sneezes - comedy gold!

Your Son (2018)

Nothing happens for 80% of the movie

Soooo dull. Much of the movie wasted on the father driving, standing, sitting, walking, driving again, sitting...about 20 minutes of actual story. Waste of time. Don't bother.

Royal Pains: The Good News Is... (2016)
Season 8, Episode 7

Train wreck

I don't review stuff much, but this was just so awful I was inspired. If I want to watch a musical, I'll watch a musical. Royal Pains is not a musical series. So why this? Actually I guess I know why, the series got canned so they don't care about ratings anymore or aren't worried about sponsors stampeding for the exits. So they wanted to do...what exactly? I have no idea. It's just a mess, awful songs, badly sung, completely nothing to do with everything the series has been. Royal Pains has been diverting, not one of my favourites, but something light to watch now and then, but this was dire. The underlying story is OK, Royal Pains standard fodder. Fast forward through the songs, save yourself time you'll never get back.
