David and Lisa (1962)
Touching Film
31 October 2004 - 3 out of 5 users found this review helpful.
Frank Perry's directorial debut of "David and Lisa" is a true miracle. Though the film came out in 1962, a time period in which the movie industry stressed for over-the-top, dramatic acting, "David and Lisa" gave audiences everywhere an intense but realistic film that touched upon the delicate subjects of mental illness amongst teens. The chemistry between Keir Dullea and Janet Margolin is fantastic. It is not only Perry's directing that makes the film stand out but the performances of both Dullea and Margolin. "David and Lisa" is a unique film that gives audiences everywhere a moment of reflection on their own lives. Films such as these allow us to ponder on subjects that we would rarely explore.
