What I count as a film: Netflix, YouTube, the rise of serialized TV, as well as the natural evolution of movies such as Serial Film, Interactive movies etc. These all contribute to the confusion and ambiguity of the terms film or movie as opposed to any video. And so here is where I draw the line: 1. I don't care about release platform, be it a cinematic film, tv movie, straight to video or to streaming. 2. I don't think its relevant to distinguish between feature length or short when the technology was more restricting. and so: * Up to 1930 I make no distinction between the two. * From 1931-1950 the piece must be 30 minutes or longer. * From 1951 onward the piece must be 45 minutes or longer. 3. In my opinion the difference between movies and tv shows comes down to continuity and length. And so I make an exception and count individual episodes of TV anthology series, provided they meet the length requirements previously mentioned (e.g Black Mirror ep1 is 44 minutes - that was a hard one to cut).
