You've Got Mail (1998)
Longer than it needs to be but cute.
Also, don't let others fool you; this isn't a Christmas movie. It's a cute romcom, that for the most part stick's the landing. Enjoyable enough where you won't be disappointed you watched it.
Finding 'Ohana (2021)
Alright, definitely did not need to be 2 hrs long tho.
Pretty much what I wrote in my subject. Also did they forget about that ring she stored in her bag or was I not paying attention.. probably the latter.
Switchback (1997)
Decent
Decent movie. Hated that Danny Glover was the killer, it really didn't work for me and I adore Danny!
Defending Jacob (2020)
This Show Overstayed It's Welcome
I'm a massive fan of Chris Evans and he was the sole reason for me giving this a shot. This story isn't particularly bad, but it drags as you gets through the series. The biggest issue I had with this show was my dislike for the son and the mother. All the other characters aregreat in this but the son shows almost no emotion and I never felt bad for the situation he found himself in. As for the mother, I hated the fact that she buckled under this pressure, I felt like all the decisions she made weren't earned and came too suddenly and out of the blue. The sum up, the story is alright but the family chemistry was an absolute disaster.
Fantasy Island (2020)
Don't Bother
This movie sounds like it might be different and interesting.. however it ends up being formulaic like and other horror movie.
Underwater (2020)
Good.. but I don't get one thing.
How was this company able to construct all these facilities without disrupting these creatures?
Sweetheart (2019)
This movie COULD have been something very intriguing..
This movie is somewhat intriguing. It begins with a girl washed up ashore, we have no idea about her backstory and how she got there. The movie then continues with odd things happening on the island. There's a scene (the best scene in the movie) in which the girl sets off a flare into the sky trying to signal a plane flying by. She fails to signal the plane but as the flare disappears down to the water, she spots a strange figure in the distance.
This is the moment when you think the movie is heading into a "Predator-ish" tone and if I'm honest I was completely on board with the film. The movie takes a terrible turn when two more people wash up onto the island. The whole movies tone and chemistry changes for the worst at this moment. It's not a terrible movie, it just had potential to be something special. Also it feels long for how short the movie is.
Happy Death Day 2 U (2019)
For an hour and a half movie, it feels long.
You know when you took that elective course for an easy grade and that class ends up being more work then you thought. This movie is sort of like that, it wants to be more clever then it is.
I wasn't a huge fan of the first one but this one definitely goes in a different direction. There are lots of twists, which you would think would be nice but they end up being so of useless and unfortunately leave the while movie feeling very messy.
The Babysitter (1995)
This movie is creeping and not in a horror way.
I'll keep this short and sweet. This movie is for perverts, no questions about it, heck I feel perverted having just watched this disgraceful movie. No likable characters and the babysitter is sort of an idiot. I mean who decides to do laundry and take a bath on a babysitting gig. Don't waste your time with this garbage, I'm sad I did.
Cold Pursuit (2019)
You can miss this.
A few things drove me nuts with this movie. Those chapter sequences, this movie isn't that artsy. Also in what world does our villain have a sticker in front of his house stating that his child is an honour student and what school he attends. Honestly this movie is pretty much what you expect, I can't say I agree with these vast amount of high ratings people are throwing at it. I'm seeing 10/10 ratings for a movie that has a "professional assassin" strolling into the home of his mark to tell him and then expects to walk right out. The only likable characters in this whole movie are Liam and the child actor that's apparently okay with being kidnapped. The child gets taken by a random stranger and he's absolutely cool with it. There is literally a part in which the child asks his kidnapper to read him a bedtime story..anyways this is a pretty forgettable movie and really isn't worth your time.
Brightburn (2019)
Good, but not confident.
The film has a brilliant premise, it's walks the line of horror and a supervillain flick. However I wish it had the confidence to let the directing do its thing. Multiple times throughout the film, gruesome deaths are shown in a "you know this person died right" sort of way. I feel it could have left a lot of the deaths in the shadows and let's the audience fill in the blanks. The mentality that it needs to show you the deaths in detail took a little away from the mystic of the film.
Bad Samaritan (2018)
What's with that Cop delay..
My "only" issue with this movie is that time difference of when the kid makes the call to the Police reporting a kidnapped girl and when the guy makes the call for a break in...why the hell did a hostage situation get one squad car and a break in bring the whole unit??
Greta (2018)
What?
I'll keep it brief, but as a young woman living in New York. I would have thought she would be able to get herself out of the dumb situation she finds herself in. It felt as though she was sort of content with what was happening to her. Disappointing movie, with silly characters.
Halloween (2018)
A Complete Remake of the Second Movie
Not sure why this "needed" to be made. Adds nothing to the series in my opinion.
