Miracle Workers (2019)
A hit and a miss
I don't know what to say about this show. Or, yes, I can say a lot about the show, but I get to feel like Jekyll & Hyde. This is because of the massive difference between Season 1 and 2. They are like night and day,
Season 1: The idea behind the season makes sense. A goofball God and his helpers that get everything done behind the scenes. The world they created and the whole miracle work made sense.
The jokes was great and Steve...well...he was perfect as God.
I like the idea of God who has personal problems, and his relation to his own creatin: Earth. The whole shows is centered around this, and I love how they both portray other gods and worlds, as they also portray the whole idea behind "miracles".
Season 2:
The show is horrible! The creators clearly thought that changing the world and settings would be great, and they could be creative....THEY ARE NOT!
Its clear that the creators had a great idea with Season 1, but Season 2 is a horrible cliche and shows their lack of creativity. The basic idea is that the world is dumb and the characters is somehow aware of this. If you had seen "A Million Ways To Die In The West", you get the picture. Yeah haha, the doctor doesn't know anything about medicine haha he is dumb.
They thought they could be as funny as Seth McFarlane, but they are not. The jokes doesn't work, and the actors just goof around. They are great actors, but the manuscript is so poorly written, that they have nothing to do. The whole point is to make fun of "The Dark Ages" and how dumb they were, as seen with someone with knowledge from the 20th century. There is no story arch with God and his wish to destroy earth or anything. No, its a a guy who shovels poop (apparently duing the day and not by night, as it was usually) and his daugther who wants to be a doctor. It feels like the jokes and the story was made by teenagers, for teenagers without any clue about the Dark Ages. I hate this, as people back then was not "dumb", nor were the people who lived in the Stone Age or any other age. its only "stupid" if you see the world from our modern perspective and put our own norms into it. Yeah, then everything seems stupid. it seems stupid that everyone hated Charles Darwin for his new theory, it seems dumb that they invented the tin can before the tin opener (one of the two people know by now as a tin opener). Yeah, everything seems dumb this way.
The problem is that the writers are not good at making meta-jokes. Seth MacFarlane is a master at this, and Family Guy is mostly based on these sort of jokes. Thats why his western worked. He already knew how to make a movie, in which a character (him) is set in a world he finds dumb and deadly - but everyone else is unaware of this. The writers of Miracle Workers are not. The world seems flat, there is no real story to tell.
For me, they missed out on a great idea about God and his miracles set in a time when religion was way more serious than it is now. They had a created a great universe to play with, but failed completely.
I Give it 6 stars. 8 for Season 1, but Season 2 is so horrible i have to retract two stars.
The Ridiculous 6 (2015)
Not as bad as it could be and sure not as fun as it wants to be
Well first off, I don't like Adam Sandler movies...or rather: most of his movies are pretty dumb and a few are descent comedies. With Ridiculous 6 he has made a rather weird thing. It is both an almost good movie and really horrible.
The big problem for this movie is that it is supposed to be a comedy. A classic Adam Sandler Comedy with his trusted friend Rob Schneider (a person i have always hated), farts and a bunch of weird characters. See, I don't find this movie very funny! Yes it has its moments and it has some great characters (more on that) but all in all I didn't find it funny. Most of the beginning I was thinking of just see something else because the jokes was just poorly delivered or just to weird and unfunny.
That whole eye-joke was just disgusting! I could not see the point in that joke and the same with the shitting Burro. Is a donkey with diarrhea really a good place to start your movie?
Further it lacked any sort of motivation for the characters. Yes they hear about their dad...but meeting a guy that out of the blue Tells you he is your brother and he wants to help your dad by robbing people, is that motivation enough? OF COURSE NOT!
These brothers could have been e.g. hurt by Frank e.g. If he had shot Chicos finger off so he was a bad piano-player or that he was responsible for Herms lack of speech. This would make them have a grudge against him and a reason why they would find him themselves to settle the score when Tommy showed up. It feels a bit undeveloped and makes the first half rather bad.
This is actually the bad things i have to say about the movie. The rest is actually good.
The movie is, in some way, a descent western. Surprisingly enough it works better off when not trying to be funny and let the characters act as if they were in a western rather than a comedy. The story works, despite the lack of motivation, and gets to be just as every other western. When they begin their heist and the bad guys chase after them the movie feels more serious and less as a comedy.
it sounds stupid, but It is not trying too hard to be funny, it actually gets to be funny when it just lets the story play out. Steve Buchemi and Vanilla Ice makes some great cameos. They get to play their roles perfectly and gets just enough space to make the scenes funny. These great cameos gets to play out their scenes with no real interruption by fart jokes or other horrible things and it actually helps making Rob Schneider likable and, do I dare say it, funny at times!
This is actually why I like the movie in the end. despite its problem with being weird and unfunny in the first half, it ends with being more of a western and a bit more serious. I heard someone mention that Sandler tried to make this movie for about ten years. This could be the reason why it is not a typical Sandler comedy. It seems like a combination of projects as he was split between making a total comedy like Seths "A Million Ways To Die In The West" and a spoof of Tarantinos upcoming "The Hateful Eight" but mixed them together because of constant rewriting.
So all in all it actually ends at 4. Not as fun as it wants to be but not as bad as it could be.
2 Broke Girls (2011)
not a great show
Some time ago I found this on, and decided to watch it. firstly because I had never heard of it, and second because Kat is pretty hot.
Have seen it some times now and well....I don't like it. Don't know why that cupcake thing is so huge. Come on its muffins with icing! Why is that so special?!
well let me get to the point: The characters are really stereotypical. A low class girl meets up class girl. In a way that story is really really cliché in it self. try think of fresh prince of Bel-Air with Will Smith during the 90's. The characters really doesn't act all "streetwise" or what ever. Max is in some way just being Dharma (the old TV-show) and the other one being her sister. The characters really don't develop at all, and seems to stay a bit the same as they started out with. The dialog is just based on sexual jokes, comebacks (from Max) and several pop cultural references e.g "I kissed a girl and I liked it" was presented almost as an add for Katy Perry.
"In 2008 when Katy perry sang I kissed I girl and I liked it...i tried it, but I didn't"
sort of how she said it, and really? REALLY?! that is some of the worst ways to put a reference in! It is so obvious that either they were paid to make such references or that they think the audience is stupid. With such a way of telling a joke, they kill it almost before it is said. it could just have been "well I once tried to kiss a girl, and I didn't like it!" that is a reference people know, and you really don't need both year, artist AND song title to know what you talk about.
The writing seems to be not well done. The situations sometime gets out of hand waaay to early e.g. with their new neighbour. The Indian guy dies and a new one moves in. Alomst all of a sudden Max freaks out and threatens to shoot the new neighbour.....is that really streetwise? it was so weird thinking that they at NO time asked her "what do you do for a living?" I thought she worked with models...but noo. again the "streetwise" Max should know how to tackle different kind of people, and know who is prostitutes and who isn't. This just shows that they really didn't think the "streetwise" part in, and just had some obnoxious girl who throw comeback remarks at people acting like Dharma. kinda emo, but not really. They really don't seem to grasp how you are "streetwise" and the characters seems flat. The whole thing seems to be really lazy written. some of the jokes are just to obvious and poorly made e.g. the "Christmas comes ones a year" joke was embarrassing.
All in all i wouldn't say it is extremely horrible, have seen waaaay worse comedy-shows than this. All it does is just being lazy and a bit boring. For those who want that it is fine, but I would rather watch something else.
3 stars: 2 for trying something but really doesn't do the right thing and 1 for Kat Dennings. Yes a bit lame but I think she is rather hot.
2012 (2009)
kinda good b-movie...or not
This movie reminds me of all different kinds of action/adventure movies
Emmerichs Independence Day - all the nations of the world unite to save the world, and the human kind.
Emmerichs The Day After Tomorrow - movie about the problems with global warming and the lack of things done in time
Indiana Jones - a hero escapes death several times with his ex and some kids, and an Asian guy, while following a map to reveal a secret that can save mankind....plus references e.g. like the Russian girl flipping the bird at the arch JUST before the hatch closes (try imagine a hat instead of someone flipping the bird)....Oh yes also the arch....A person searching for the arch, with a map that reveals the location
Star Wars - basically with the introduction of the arches it became kinda looking like Star Wars, and felt like it...plus the American captain was really going for the "was I not in Star Wars? Oh, I thought so!" game
In a way, he has combined all these movies to make this. This is actually what makes it good! All the clichés are used and done well. there is also reasons why I don't like it though, and they kinda ruin the movie.
The movie is having trouble developing all the characters and give them time to make the problems interesting. they are introduced in a way that you know "oh, they don't like him now...but they will love him later" and "why did he talk with that guy again? don't the government know what he is doing as he is CALLING HIS FATHER FROM THE WHITE HOUSE?!"
The story is a big mess. Yes it is a b-movie so you kinda just go "blah blah earth is going to blow up, how do they survive?" at it. Looking at the story, it is just plain weird. don't know how the sun flares can warm up the earths core....something feels like Bulls**t. The other thing is: What are the plan for the people SURVIVING the disaster? NOT including the arches?! What do they do with the countries when the water goes back in its place after the tsunamis? i wondered why they would build those big arches, give all the rich and "selected" persons tickets for then suddenly go without them. Who was on the ships? the "selected"?! and a short sidetrack: HOW WAS QUEEN ELISABETH SELECTED? if it was for the best survival of the human race...why select and 70 year old woman WHO CANT HAVE CHILDREN? are they insane?! it doesn't make up, who was in the rooms, if it was not the people with the tickets?!
Africa and The Drakensberg mountains was raising, and became the largest point on earth. fair enough, but what about those who survived there? What about those who survived when the landmasses, elsewhere, either raised or just NOT got flooded? What would the "selected" people do when encountering survivors at the sea? shoot them? the last thing is, Why wasn't there ANY planes besides the big Aronov and the helicopters with the animals? What about holiday travelers?! There is also a question about the whole "pole switching" as the pilot was going for the place in china...why didn't he think that he might alter his course WHEN THEY KNEW THAT THE POLES WERE SWITCHING?! if he didn't know, Wouldn't HE KNOW AS THE ROUTE WOULD TAKE HIM ELSEWHERE?! HOW can they be so stupid?! it is mentioned but not explored in detail. it is not mentioned it would, well, INFLICT TROUBLE ON EVERY SINGLE MACHINE DEPENDING ON THE POSITION OF THE POLES!
it doesn't make any sense that the government was lying all up to the point, when the earthquakes ransacked the town of the main characters! WHY would a country do that? Are the government in reality lying about e.g. earthquakes or hurricanes? NO! always they are warning and trying to get people out, if they are in trouble. They are NOT saying "well there is no trouble now, the worst is....OH NO! THE HURRICANE IS STRIKING!!!AAAARGH!" It doesn't make any sense!!!!
it doesn't make any sense to make the stupid arches AS THERE IS NO POINT! The human race isn't in danger of being started all over again, as there WOULD be survivors outside of those damn ships! And besides, HOW did the Chinese build this WITHOUT ANYONE NOTICING THE PRODUCTION AND THE Amount OF MATERIALS? Yes there is billions of Chinese people but...HOW CAN YOU BUILD 4 ARCHES IN A FEW DAYS?! even the Chinese cannot, no matter how many people they are!
There is points with horrible blue screen effects that just begs the question: WHY? if you placed all the money in effects, why not take to the maximum? Why end on bad effects at some points? low on cash there?! There is also the point with references and product placements. Bentely and Sony Vaio is apparently what we should buy, in case of Armageddon. There is other names I haven't even mentioned the whole "Aztecs said it 1000 years ago" NO! They didn't mention any sun flare, only reference to Aztecs is their calender. They didn't mention Armageddon or death or destruction...they only just said that at this day, 21-12-2012, the world would go into a new era, and their calender stopped. it doesn't mean destruction or anything, it could just mean change. So all this nonsense about Aztecs is just like Nostradamus and his prophecy about the world would end in 1999, BULLS**T!
I give it 3 stars as the effects are good, and it can be enjoyed as a typical b-movie. in the same time, it begs a lot of questions and the characters are not interesting enough to be taken seriously. So if you want to watch this movie, do it a day you have a hangover!
Moon (2009)
Classic Science Fiction
*maybe a minor spoiler but still just in case*
After watching this movie I felt like I did when I was younger and watched Alien over and over again. The love for Sci-fi and the scary thought of just how isolated you are in space came right back. The station was almost identical to that of Alien, the mere thought of something "alien" suddenly came into the station without you knowing it and the mere thought of how far away you are from Earth is the same. To me this is an instant classic sci-fi movie. Excellent story with a twist i really didn't see coming...or sort of did. The good thing about the story is more that you get to think. It doesn't tell you the plot directly, it lets it dive in and give you some hints to what it could be. Is he mad? is he not? Who is he? What is real and what is not?
I like movies that let you think and doesn't just tell you right away what you are supposed to think. This is just a classic slow paced sci-fi with the limited action as it needed without any stupid explosions or clichés that can ruin a sci-fi. A classic Sci-Fi for those who want to think and want a good story.
In short: Brilliant!
Let's Pollute (2009)
A good cartoon
I need to put one thing straight first. THIS IS IRONY! The whole movie is just pure irony, or maybe even sarcasm, which seems to confuse people...as seen with the reviews for this film. Would you believe that "Yes men" are also just being stupid? Those two people who made conferences with a topic that they actually were against?
This can be a bit preachy, as some say, but still it focuses on the mere fact that we pollute more than we have done earlier. It tells of how the world suffer if we don't try to do something. Yes, as a single person you cannot save the world, but we can do our bit to make the world better.
Why it is so hard for some people to understand irony and sarcasm i have no idea. Its clear from the start that this movie is NOT to be taken serious e.g. that we have to pollute more that what keeps our society running. Read between the lines, and consider what they actually are saying.
I feel sad when I have to explain a joke, and sarcasm, to people because to me its so obvious that it doesn't need any explanation.
How I Met Your Mother (2005)
not as i thought it would be
Everybody I know love this show. All of them say how funny it is, some try to live by the Stinson-code and everyone wants to participate in the "International Suit-up Day"...but not me.
I've tried time after time to see the show, and well, I don't like it. yes I can see that the show is trying to be different than other shows, e.g. showing a date in the present and from 9 years ago at the same time or if/if not Marshall was robbed by a monkey or not. Even though its well made, and actually different from other shows, I cannot find this funny. The biggest problem is how its being told. If they didn't have the narrator voice in every episode I could watch more of it. Its irritating to hear a voice telling everything about the show, and do NOT let you think on your own.....oh yeah the Monkey episode tried to, but it was so obvious it would do that (the whole is it real or not?), that it ended more confusing than funny.
Even though I'm the person who could love the show, I'm almost finished with my studies and is about to go to the "real world" and can see my self in Ted.....But it doesn't hit me. The date episode made me irritated at Ted and didn't made me laugh. the only thing I thought was "why do you go on a 9 year old date that went bad, and didn't try your luck this time doing SOMETHING ELSE than actually recreating a bad date? how stupid are you?!" it seemed unrealistic that two persons would actually recreate something like that, and NOT think "hey he/she IS actually cool and nice, why not try something?" It remind me a lot of the British show "Coupling", but that show is 1000 times more funny and genius well made than this show. They try the same things, have some of the same characters, but its just not that funny. The thing I like about the show, is actually how its made. its well made, interesting in showing time in different ways (present/past/future) and the whole reality (again with the monkey). The problem is, as I said, its going to fast and the narrator ruins a lot and some of the jokes are to obvious.
(Ill still try to see the show, if so many of my friends like this show, maybe ill just need to check it out some more times.)
Lost in Translation (2003)
wow thats great!!!
Well when i first saw this film I didn't know anything about it. First I thought it was a bad comedy because I saw Bill Murray was the main character, but this changed a lot after I saw it! This is one of those films that shows the difference between Europe/America and Asia. I must say that this film was a lot greater than I ever had thought it would be. Its a amazing way the shooting is made, great scenes that just show HOW different Japan really is. the Acting is also great, they just play realistic, and you really can see, and believe, that they just want to go home. I was amazed when i saw it, because some of the scenes are great.
I just love this movie because it show to everyone that it isn't easy to travel all the way to Japan to live there, its so different, and maybe too different for you. But again, I love Japan and its culture, and this is shown really great and just inspires me to explore this country a lot more.
Shichinin no samurai (1954)
Old movies are sometimes better than the new ones.
Well to say it short: ITS GREAT!!!! Some people think that black/white movies are bad (because they are old) but its wrong. I have seen movies from the 50's, 40's, 30's and 20's that is extremely well done (Its films like: Nosferatu, Vertigo and Citizen Kane).
And this movie (seven Samurai) is such a film. Even though its from 54, its still a masterpiece. It tells its story well, have great actors, and do not use time on some stupid special effects which doesn't have a part in the story. Some films (which are made today) spend a lot of money on special effects, and shots of e.g. a female actor during bath. Seven Samurai is a movie that is slow and calm. The actors gets a lot of time to really act, and not just running around shooting or kissing most of the time. The actors gets to act a lot, and they do it well.
I love this movie and i love it a lot. Its a movie that you can see again and again without being tired. you just have to watch this movie.
(A)Torzija (2003)
Movies doesn't have to be long to tell a great story
I saw this movie during 11th International Short Film Symposium
in Århus, and wow its great!
in 11 minutes Stefan Arsenijevic doesn't only tell the story of a cow and its problems, but also about how it is to live during wartime. Its almost as watching a movie about 2. World War because of the intensity and the atmosphere, and because people bond more with each other during a war than during peace.
I think its a very very great film, and i feel that it shows how awful it's to live during wartime, and how hard it is to get food. the film is 11 minutes long, but the story it tells is a lot bigger than that!
Excellent.
Langt fra Las Vegas (2001)
The Greatest show ever
Well I have seen a lot of sitcoms, but this is the best show ever! i know that a lot in here think that "Martin" (1992) is the best show ever, but they haven't seen Langt Fra Las Vegas or just good TV.
Langt Fra Las Vegas has it all. Great Actors, great story (or just a story great for a sitcom) and extremely great characters. Great jokes, great punch-lines and you cannot see a episode without just laugh until you fall down from your chair! believe me its funny!
Frank Hvam and Casper Christensen is just a great pair! They are funny, and they are just made to make comedy together! a comedy with Casper but no Frank, its like no Bunny without Clyde or Lilo without Stich.
And with that said, i have to buy the DVD, 10/10
Are You Afraid of the Dark? (1990)
memories memories
When I was a child, i loved to see this every weekend, because it was scary. i watched every time it was shown on TV, and i must say that it was good.
Every episode was great with a new scary story (some more scarier than others) that didn't get boring.
i cannot remember any episodes right now, but many of them was very scary, and that made ME afraid of dark! I remember how afraid i was to be alone, because i thought that monsters would come and attack me! But this was the first times i saw them, later when i saw these series it wasn't as scary as the first times (maybe because i got older?!) but still interesting to watch.
its great to remember those days when i sat in front of the TV and was fascinated by the interesting stories these kids could tell!
its 9/10
Lake Placid (1999)
Awful!
I cannot vote on this movie, because its so awful that its out of the Voting-scale!!!
The story is thin, the actors are bad, the characters are seriously weird and the horror/comedy mix is as awful as it can get! I could write a very long list of errors and flops in this movie, but lets make it short. I want to focus on some of the big flops/questions this movie contains: The biggest question is: HOW DID THAT OLD LADY GET THOSE CRODODILLES? How can she tame them when they are adults? if you think of it, every one that tries to tame a Lion or a Tiger knows that these animals are not used to be pets, so its impossible to tame a animal that large.
And by the way: why oh why do that old lady have Cows, horses, chickens next to a lake? When you live near a lake, you DO NOT run a farm, you go fishing in the lake!!!!! The characters are seriously weird! At points they can work together, and even talk normally, but suddenly they just flip out and begins to yell and argue about something that isn't important!
Another problem is with the role Bridget Fonda plays (Katty or something (from now on called Katty). She is letting us know something about her:
1) allergic to trees 2) hate Moquitoes 3) hate Ticks (the nasty little treehanging animal) 4) doesn't know what camping is
She is supposed to be a Big City girl who don't know anything about nature. But the problem is that she HAS been to lakes like lake Placid as a kid!!!!!!! She says that she always spent time at a lake, throwing stones at the water. But how can she suddenly have an allergy for trees? how can she NOT know that camping is used to be in tents?
It makes no sense that she HAS been out of the city as a child, but as an adult cannot be a minute at a Lake in Maine!!!! And by the way: When she is helping the policeman (which she is (at some points) in love with) in the tent, she is telling that her father was a surgeon. Well it could be, but do surgeons use plaster? do Suregeons use plaster when they a finished with an operation? The answer is NO!!! Its a lame dialog, as all the other dialogs in this movie!!!
The "investigation team" is not investigating, they are just fooling around trying to find an animal, which they don't know what is and what to do with!!
And here another question:
Which animal does the old policeman (who hates Hector) suspect is the killer? He doesn't think that it is a crocodile, so what animal did attack the boat in the middle of the lake? The Loch Ness monster? a underwater bear? A beaver? a Fish?
This is so weird as it can get! When I found out that this was a comedy-Horror film, i knew why it wasn't as scary as it could be, but still the movie sucks!!!!!
Its NOT funny, its not scary, its just a boring awful movie, that should be thrown away!!!! If anyone of you have seen the horror movie about the Killer Ants, you'll know that this movie is even WORSE than that. the movie about the ants did actually have a point, and did NOT just be a movie about some idiots that are just fooling around.
Even another question: Is the movie about the Crododile or about the persons? We see a lot to the persons, and not much to the animal thats killing almost everyone near the lake. But if we say its about the persons, Wy oh why do we not get any deep understanding of them? they just fool around and do NOT cooperate or do NOT let us know them! So to me, it shows that the director didn't know what the movie was about, and then just made it as it is.
I think i know why its supposed to be a comedy. After making the Horror movie, he found out that is was so lame, the actors so stupid and bad, that he thought "hey if we say its a comedy, we can be sure that no one is saying that the actors are bad, they just think they are playing bad, because its a comedy!" But the fact is, its NOT a comedy!
I must say that i cannot understand those who say "this is a great film! I love it". i wonder which drug you guys are using? because you MUST be High to think this movie is great!!!
Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain (2001)
WOW thats a great movie!
Its one of those movies that you CANNOT miss! Or should i say, you should NOT miss! When it came out i didn't see it, but all comments i heard was like "thats an amazing movie" or "you haven't seen it? DO IT NOW!" But i didn't.
But some time ago, this movie was shown on TV, and that was the time i got to see it. After I had seen it, i must say that is a masterpiece! It a movie that is funny, interesting, surprising, strange and just beautiful! Amelie is a very wonderful character, and the actor (forgot her name) is so beautiful! I almost fall in love with her! So this leads me to the final conclusion: See that movie, its great, and i cannot comment on it further because i lack words that can describe the film! If you don't believe me...then rent the film!!!!
Johnny Mnemonic (1995)
Boring!
Well this is a movie which inst as good as you thought it would be. it's a ordinary Sci-fi movie.
You may ask "why do you say that?" and well, let me explain: 1) The movie shows a future thats gone wrong. As always in Sci-fi movies with in a awful future, we have the hero who is figthing for justice and against the evil companies (or just the villains) that doesn't seem to have any morality or kindness in them. You can compare it to Terminator or to Alien, which both shows a future that has gone wrong.
2) Like many other sci-fi movies, as The Matrix, we see high Tec equipment at the villains side, and extremely Low-Tec at the heroes side. Again, this is as every other sci-fi movie (almost) and again, there are NO new ideas to this side! 3) The characters are awful! johnny is a person that doesn't trust anyone (which is VERY "understandable" (if such a word exists)) but every time he doesn't want to be a part of it, he seconds later is going back TO BE a part of he good team! WHY cant we see a character who tries to be on his own, or is told (by the other "good" or friendly people) why they can help. The people who is supposed to help him, doesn't seem as they WANT to! Example: When Johnyy and the girl (forgot her name) is looking for "Jones" at the old Bridge, we see Johnny yell and Yell "Jones" or "Hello!" a lot. The strange is, the girl (who knew who Jones is) isn't helping him in any way! She just stands there, and do NOTHING to let them inside the facility!!!! Why didn't she help Johnny if she knew the area AND the people? Why did she let him stand there and yell, and let him almost die (when a car was accidentally dropped at them)? a very strange helper i must say! Dolph Lundgreen plays a very strange Christian-contract-killer, and enjoys to let his victims suffer the way Jesus did. But why do the villains hire and old, fanatic, killer and not send a elite force after johnny? In The Matrix we have the Agents as the evil ones, and NOT and old stupid religious fanatic!!! That is again making this movie so bad! And by the way: WHY DO THEY HAVE A DOLPHIN??? thats a question i cannot solve! To make the story short: The movie sucks with lousy characters, stupid plot, stupid actors and a lot of unsolved questions.
If you have seen Matrix, you can clearly see some similarities!
Children of the Corn (1984)
What a bad movie
The first word i can find to describe this movie is Awful.
This movie is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. First of all is the plot a very thin and pretty generic when you think of horror films. This makes the movie bad, because you know whats going to happen. Secondly does the movie contain a lot of questions which never is revealed. One of the questions (and this is no spoiler) is: WHAT THE HELL ARE THE KIDS DOING IN THAT CORN???!!! Thirdly is the characters very bad, not only because the movie is bad, but also because of the sorry actors. They are bad as they can be.
The last thing that make this movie bad, is that its a horror movie. You are supposed to be scared of the killings or the sudden shocks, but you are not scared, you a not horrified because you know whats going to happen. Why? THEY SHOW YOU! yes, when something is going to happen BAM you see what it is and, well, see the murder. In the scene where they are escaping through the corn field, well, I thought in the beginning of the scene it was scary but the way they delivered the scare, ruined it! They have some chances to get scary but every time they are about to be scary, they deliver it pretty badly. This has to do with a bad director who apparently doesn't know HOW to make a movie about a cornfield scary.
Conclusion: The movie is bad! I hoped that it was a very great movie but because the story is bad, the actors are bad, the film raises a lot of questions and because its not scary, the movie is best unseen.
