Mindhunter (2017–2019)
8/10
Very human
4 March 2018
MindHunters seem like comical. A bunch of characters, hunters of the mind?

Nope. The first scene was like a hook. Real. The bitterness of reality not going on the character's way.

This is a story of a hostage negotiator. He thinks and calculates. He is eager to find answers, to be better. And he fails but he moves to correct them.

The audience are introduced to the minds of a criminal. The show would explain why criminals, the psychotic do what they do. And it is very interesting.

If it where only lectures, I wouldn't last to finish the episode. But it was not all.

The Walking Dead: First Time Again (2015)
Season 6, Episode 1
7/10
stampede at the start
21 October 2015
the community people are dying one after the other. Now at that end of the first episode, signify something that has been done over and over again this past seasons. They found a new home, have some kind of hope, conflict with the past settlements arise, a few deaths, here and there, most would come from the settlers, then ... You know what I mean. And this is done again with this community. How do the walking dead get away with it? How should I know. Perhaps the gore and ghouls. The deaths, and surprise, the thrill from new stories, conflicts. If you have survived till this season, it must mean you have known a lot of these characters. And you'd want to know how'd they end up to the stopping point of this series. That's mainly my reason.

That's usually is. I just want to end what would happen to them. Since the early seasons was so damn interesting, I watched it. And so this one got on my finish-till-the-end list. But one thing though, if stories after stories just keep repeating, differing only to the place and the people that live in it, then sometimes, you'd just get bored, and it'd be up to scaling the boredom and the desire to finish.

Even this, it's still there though. The surprise from time to time, but if you'd know how it's going to end up, like the doom of the settlers, there's no way that surprise factor'd be the same. A greater surprise would be out of the question.

And in this episode, though I give it a 7/10, it's still fall behind from the episodes in early seasons.

The Walking Dead: JSS (2015)
Season 6, Episode 2
7/10
moral dilemma
21 October 2015
It is an unfortunate thing. Episode two is the destruction. and how this invader knew when to poke is subject to scrutiny.

I believe there is a traitor in the midst. A traitor in the form of a little girl, who seem innocent, quiet but seems to be hiding something. Mysterious. Shady. So I'm betting she's the one. My suspection was even made more strong when that suspected person left the scene of the crime.

Now that's done. Another debate that would keep the discussion going is a subject of morality.

In this episode, we see two characters on different sides. An the invasion goes to action, it is left to the two to spoil the enemies plan. But them duo have opposite directives on going at it. One is to capture and so not kill, the other shows no mercy.

Are you on the latter cause I am. There are situations that you are able to do that, you know, capture them bad people doing bad things, cause there is an opportunity in it. But, there are times when you are not given the time at all. And so that scenario, like the one in episode two, was one where you'd either choose the life to the other, and it's not a dilemma at all, which you'd choose.

Here is another issue I noticed in this. The one that's philosophy is not to kill no matter what, one of the two that's doing the saving, is a difficult philosophy to follow. And if chosen to guide your whole life, then you'd subject your life to a series of headaches. You care for every life, but if you have to choose, a life for the other, and that other is going to kill that other. Which would you choose? Of course you can try the none lethal way, no matter how dangerous it is that every minute counts to save another life. To me this is flawed.

The Gift (VI) (2015)
7/10
A suiting title, since it was a delightful surprise
9 October 2015
Wow, it's been a long time. I was taken off guard and jumped. You know when those types in horror movies where there is silence and you know, 100 percent, that something's going out of the corner to surprise you? Well, only in rare cases do i get surprised since when you are expecting it, then it'd be a challenge for horror writers/directors, but this one sure got me. It was very effective because I didn't expect it, and there was a subtlety in it. You thought there is nothing, just some story with scenarios a league away from horror scenes, but you'd kind of get the sense that it's going that way.

Not only is it surprises you to the point you'd jump out of your skin/sit, as in my case, this movie has some life lesson in it. I mean, mean people get what they deserve, one way or another, they'd get it. And if you do learn things as you grow up, then it is undeserving for you to receive retribution, unless, you don't and you're just the same prick you always were, but only with a grown up body, minus the naivete of a kid.

One thing I like about it among many things is that from the start, to finish, you'd change were to root for, and in the end, it'd be a debate with your friends, families or whoever watched it. Is this deserving to what happen to him in the end, Is what he did the right thing? And I can see it. Many would have a varying opinion in the end.

Kudos to the creators, and actors and everyone that created this good thriller. Never thought I'd still have this effect on a movie of this kind. As a last note, this one got the investigating type and as clues leads to some more, things became to unravel, curtains began to raise to show the ugly, naked truth.

An eye for an eye, and in today's society, would you consider this kind of redemption if you were in a position this one's unfortunate circumstances?

Mr. Robot (2015–2019)
8/10
fSociety.dat
15 August 2015
I was looking for something new, something fresh, and of course, within my taste . I like the lone-type hero main character, that doesn't go focus other characters more than necessary.

I checked the "most popular TV-show" link and checked the plots of each of them and among all of those selection, the one that stick out was Mr. Robot.

I'm a bit of a techy and idolized those that are most familiarized with them. They create and solve. And sure enough, Mr. Robot feature someone like it.

Being as society calls them geeks with buck teeth, and social problems, I was expectant of that for our main character here. His name is Eliot (hope that is spelled right). He has issues but is portrayed as powerful in his skills. But contrary to the usual geek vs geek plot, here, they show us the ability of Eliot can be used in many ways we wouldn't have guessed.

As characters are introduced or focused in his problems, each of them would be subjected. I tell you, you wouldn't want to be one of Eliot's subject 'cause every privacy you have would be out. Secrets of that person would be found out and for what I perceived, this secrets can be a dark one, little or big. And when you cross him, you would get what you deserved, this is according to his moral code and as of yet, I am still with his moral goodness. It seems alright.

If I had this abilities, I would do what he did in those circumstances, perhaps... Anyway, it kinds of resembles a superhero in our normal society just like doctors go battling for their patients lives, soldiers battling their wars, and teachers educating children, Eliot battle corporates, killers, murders in his own way.

Trainwreck (2015)

Entertain via real life issues
4 August 2015
that was interesting. A slut is the main characters. she mates with guys like a bitch on the street in heat. She had this view of life. She was brought up by an environment where there is a likely chance a kid could turn out like her. There is a lesson here. This is not just comedy. Sometimes the joke or dialogues seem unreal and I doubt some of them are even possible. In this cases, it was displayed for a comedic relief. I assume the dialogues and scenes are smudged to the culture of today's generation made funny.

she had a lot of issues. Brought up by a narcissistic father can do that to you. But in all this things. somehow, someway, her sister wasn't able to be like her. And there is a reason to this. Life lessons can be discovered here. and the hilarity of this movie does not focus on the scripts but on the faint reality and dilemmas that today's generation deals with.

The summary details that the slut founds a decent guy, normally for decent girls. Well what would happen? Can a guy be secure with her? There are a lot of things here that every girl in the wild should try to deal with. And in its own way, the movie tries to help them see it and what to do with it.

It was funny. Though I kind of get the feeling that this movie is about the gals. To the meek and quiet and to the wild in heat. Through this movie, we are able to see the perspective of her kind. and on the outside, it seems all fun and games and in the reality of it.

Speed (1994)
8/10
Fast paced movie. Speed is adequately titled
25 July 2015
A lunatic is playing around with a bomb, and in the end, hoping to get something out of it. It is an exciting enough movie. Especially the antagonist. The bomber I mean.

Oh how he reminds me of some bully in school. An old man that has the character of a bully. He laughs and jumps of excitement when a person burns to death. It is demented and disturbing. But I'm lead to believe that a good movie can be due to a good antagonist. Annoying and sociopath.

There are shouting and dialogues though that are, to my understanding, stupid and childish. It seems it is its way to express excitement and action on the moment. Well, it doesn't work on today's age. We just don't go for that anymore. It is unreal and obvious. When asked the difference between the action movies in the 90s and 21st century, then that would be it.

And hey. Did I said it is stupid. How? and Why? Couldn't he just do this and do that? Should have done this to avoid that. But even with this notice, I find the movie good enough for an hour and a half of my time.

To sum it up, it is annoying yet enjoyable at 7/10.

The hero is Reeves. He is a bomb expert. A hotshot as the terrorist defines. Full attention to his work. Has a blond friend and some shouting officer as a team. Together, they work and battle against the forces of a maniac, a sociopath, and a kid, trapped in a old man's body. During the fight'n the hero would meet somebody. Somebody to meet! the stunts, bombs blowing off as metal expands and go to waste is believable enough. The action and thrill is no doubt top notch. the jumping and catching, heart stopping. I just didn't like how it ended up like him doing that, or her staying there. It's just so unreal, no common sense. Stupid.

Burp!

Final Girl (2015)
5/10
Hope it's not the Final Movie of the Cast. So Bad
25 July 2015
The final girl. All can be sum up to that title. And I find it remarkable. For a movie to be summarized in a three word sentence. If you've seen the trailer, and know the title, then it is all of it. You haven't really miss much. And so without further ado, I dub thee, this movie a wasted bit on the net. You can continue to read and give chance to justify my case. Some might have been impressed by the trailer, for I am one of them, the music and the cut of scene to scene surely seems impressive. The chase and the fight screens shown on the trailer was quite misleading to the quality of the movie, but I'm sure of my judgement in this.

20 seconds walking, 3 minutes talking of small talking, and a variety of pauses, and breathing. It was dragging, in a non exciting sort of way. Taking time for the predictable, the girl and killers in a chase. There was really no weaving, no curving, just straight to the end. Predictable.

The girl I believe is an orphan. Taken and trained for a purpose of defeating the evil. Then after an hour and fourteen minutes, wow. I thought I could get more about the story but there really is nothing else. I can't tell the ending of this movie but I have a feeling 99.99% population can already guess what it would be.

Maybe I can add a bit of the story... Nope. Can't find it if it isn't really there.

During the races to the death, the hiding from killers, the soundtrack, I'll admit, is good. Boom, Baam. Sure, the music is good, but really, if the scenes does not complement the music, then I'm afraid, even Mozart or Beethoven can't help this movie be better.

There were stylish though. In tuxedos and dresses no matter where they go. I mean all of them. All. Unrealistically everyone. Well, not the background people for it would be a fantasy of some kind but just those involved in the story. I had the impression they were dressed from some prom but after nights, nope, not at at all. The scenery and background was dull but kind of beautiful. Certainly, it would be so if the shots were great mountain and forest, and lake scenery.

I was bored. No surprise there. It would be a sin to tell you otherwise. Some may find this movie enjoyable? Though I doubt many would. The actors and actresses do have some name to show for.

The Mask (1994)

Hero in a Mask? I
22 July 2015
The hero, stanley epcis, hope I spelled that right, is a banker. He is quite a cartoon fan with a dog, which I believe is the most adorable, bright creature I've ever seen. Then he met this woman and the story starts to run.

Its basically it. But what made this a good view is its comical ways and I meant it to be both figuratively and literally. Jim Carrey takes up the figurative part. I think he is the best in this regard, for what I've seen so far in years, ever. The Literal part will be about the effects and animation and it is impressive. To make guns move so real but you know it doesn't spin like that in reality, and that is the amazing part, considering the time in its production.

The ending, you will find it predictable but the story though important, not quite the only factor that makes this good. Though there is a sudden twist in it. The good was stupid and turned out bad and the beautiful and enemy turned out a trusted ally.

The hoola, hoo, holla! was the best of my watch. The choreography with exaggerated movements we know Jim Carry carry out so well was superb. The coco bango, yah! Well, this isn't turning out to be a good, intelligent review. Let's resume then...

The music and dance routines. There were many of them. Quite the jiggle and before you'd know it, a smile is painted in your lips and laugh out loud. It is super comical and unreal, and it's obvious this would never happen even if it was the common reaction of talking and walking, but it is part of the goodness of the movie.

Obviously, I've enjoyed the movie, of re-watch and year 2015. But I can't say its humor would appeal to the people today. No need to say that this kind of things evolve along with everything else. Maybe, perhaps, but to my believe, more likely.

Life and Love
22 July 2015
This was a time of war and in this remote land, away from the community comes an orphanage were people go for an abortion. Then this orphan, weak in the heart, founds love, from the doctor, and care taker, from an unlikely girl.

It is a sad movie with romance in the mix, and a bit of historical background since the war did take part in the endings of the movie. There are many questions that comes up from watching this. The problems of the society, the nature of people, in people left behind, loyalty from those left behind, the irresponsibility and frailty in people, and the cruelty in them. The doctor who resembles the fatherly love of boundless and endless proportion has in his mind the cruelty of people and lost hope from them but not the orphan whom he, the doctor made time to take care of.

Afterwards what happens, when people, a couple, do an abortion, do we see regret? Do we see remorse, satisfaction, or perhaps nothing? Questions. At the later part of the story, we see why. Mistakes, and things do why they do this things. Religion also comes in to part in this. The story do tackle a lot of fragile subjects in our society.

In terms of who should watch this, it is in my good perspective that the entertainment value of this is subjected for adults. The problems are for adults. the issues, questions, and subjects are for the adult. But I do think it is also important of young adults be aware of this things, since there are a kind of an adult

Reign of Fire (2002)
8/10
Fight or Live
22 July 2015
What happens when fire breathing dragons roam the world. Obviously, fire reign in the sky ergo Reign of Fire. Now that we had cleared that up, heh, we enter in a world of scarcity, battle, hopelessness in the eyes of some people. But there are some, who lives on to fight and regains what was lost. Some question them, what is the point? Why still fight a battle were even when fleets, armies, marines were helpless against them, completely decimated.

For this two completely opposite view, we are introduced to two people of one that found a way to live with it, and one who continues to fight this ravaging merciless beasts. This is not all fight. This two people living in two opposite lives, comes to different realization. The fighter comes to helplessness and the farmer learns there is still something left to fight.

Now, the graphics. Real and life like. That's all that I could say. Very believable. Motions of the dragons when landing or flying both closely resembles the birds. The way the body flexes, considers the weights and length of its neck and wings, and tails.

Entertaining in a way only battles and death can give. Edgy and worldly, you know, where world is at stake.

The Big Bang Theory (2007–2019)
9/10
A riot that started with a big bang
16 July 2015
It is a show that can be repeated.

In movies, there are qualities that is so good, people would re-watched it. In TV shows, this kind of feat is as high as the mount Everest. Imagine repeating episodes, contributing hours for completion so it is understandable. More so, when episodes can vary. Some are better than others.

A feat quite achieved, if not owned, by this TV show.

Well defined characters, including the introduced guests. There are arcs and in this, the lessons learned, encounters made are imprinted in their individuality, their values, and most importantly, the evolution each stories in every episodes makes as they, the stories, wrap themselves to each and every characters. This evolution I'm talking about, like well accomplished scientist, is what made me attracted on this show, contrary to other comedy TV shows.

The gang.

Leonard is the catalyst of the group, as I remember it said on the show. He is the sensible part of the group. Kind of.

penny is a slut. Though takes a gradual changes along the way, for the better.

Cooper is the uber nerd. Narcissistic that pales psychotic murderers. As said before, Dr. Cooper as well will take a transformation, though its kind of painstakingly slow. He is what I believe the butt of most of the jokes on the show. You'd think people would feel sorry for this guy, but after you watch the series, you'd discover it's the most common thing in the world, freeing you of any pity you might feel for him.

Howard has a bit of an interest in the opposite gender. Best friends with Kutrapoli. Bro-mance. He is like the blond guy in how I met your mother, the one who always ends with bed in them girls, no matter how unreasonable this encounters are, but in this show, bbt, Howard is like the undead, no matter how women tries to stab him with their rejections, as he tries to hit on them with some ways nobody could possibly imagine. Like the previous three, he will improve his character/values, though for comical relief, glacier slow.

kotrapoli (spelling might be incorrect) can't talk to women. usually mistaken as gay by his parents and the world except for the people mention in this review. In the five, I think he has made the best improvement. A great change suitable even for a season finale. Misunderstood as he is a foreigner from India.

Now, imagine them staying the same building and you'd get a riot and uncountable laughs for those that has enough holds on their chairs as they try not to fall off in the first scene.

ps. now going strong for the upcoming season 9 burp!
