In & of Itself (2020)
You might find it boring or you might find it haunting. I found it inwardly revealing. I found it quite entertaining.
It has taken me a little bit after the movie ended to gather my thoughts and feelings to best describe what I have just watched. It is nothing short of amazing, visually and emotionally.
You might find it boring or you might find it haunting. I found it inwardly revealing. I also found it quite entertaining.
Here is the deal. The description says "Storyteller and Conceptual magician ... attempts to understand the illusory nature of identity and answer the deceptively simple question "Who Am I?" I think it does more than that. It begs YOU to ask the question of yourself. "Who am I?"
Do not watch it with someone. Watch it by yourself. No distractions. Turn your phone on silent. Sit for 90 minutes and immerse yourself. Allow yourself to laugh, allow yourself to cry, allow yourself to be amazed. It moves slow, it moves cautiously, it also forces you to think, to turn inward and ask yourself "Who am I?"
It was an emotional roller coaster ride for me, I am not sure what it will do for you and to be honest I don't want to know. This was a personal journey for me and I think this should be a personal journey for you and you alone. I wish I could have seen this live but that will never happen. I was blessed to have someone share it with and so I am sharing it with you.
Here is to the journey ahead.
Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021)
A dull witted sequel that shouldn't have been made
Is this a promo ad for Lebron James? Sure felt like it.
Sat down with the Fam and I was the only one who really didn't like it. I got the references
(including the Bobby Knight reference) and saw all the WB characters. Some of the jokes were funny but most just felt awkward.
Judge it for yourself, just don't expect anything spectacular.
Why You Suck at Golf (2020)
A really poor shot
Almost seemed like they were trying to make a modern day Caddy Shack but failed horrible. It is not funny and its attempts at humor are sophomoric. Don't waste your time.
Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021)
Don't believe everything you read. Too many critics
I watched this because it was filmed in NM and I wanted to see if I recognized any of the filming locations (I did). The reviews were bad but I took a chance anyway. Decent movie, not spectacular but not a waste of time either. Very reminiscent of a Dean Koontz story. Watch it yourself and make your own opinion.
The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two (2020)
They should have stopped with the first one
Not impressed. The acting is marginal, the special effects are blah and the story is ill conceived. Don't waste your time.
The Prom (2020)
Did you like Glee?
This movie has some really catchy music and the actors play to their parts accordingly. It has a strong message of tolerance and even has a few sappy moments. It was like watching a movie version of Glee. Take a chance, who knows, you might enjoy it.
Seuwingkizeu (2018)
Quite the surprise
I wasn't sure what to expect when I clicked on this. Now that I've watched it I am amazed by its brilliance. The music is great, the plot is very interesting and the dancing? The dancing is truly amazing. Just enjoy.
Artemis Fowl (2020)
How to ruin a great book
OH THE HORROR!! I am a big Artemis Fowl fan, read all of them with my kids. How could they do this? This really is an abomination. I think the only thing that was worse was CATS. Wait...did that star Judi Dench too?
The English Game (2020)
Enjoyable
You don't have to like it or even understand english football to enjoy this series. If your a fan of Downton Abbey you will enjoy this too. The storyline is interesting and the entire series is well filmed.
The Dawnseeker (2018)
What a horrible movie
A complete waste of time. A BAD, BAD movie. How it got any good reviews I will never know.
Phil Collins: Finally... The First Farewell Tour (2004)
Are you a Phil Collins fan?
If you are a Phil Collins fan this is a must watch.
Two plus hours of concert footage of his greatest hits, nothing more to say.
Ignore the negative reviews and make your own decision. I enjoyed every minute of this video.
Lost in Space (2018)
I tried
I tried to like it, I really did. I was so looking forward to enjoying this series but in the long run I just couldn't.
I made it as far as Episode 5 before I just couldn't take it anymore.
The acting is really bad, the script it pitiful and the plot? Really? No thanks, nothing there to keep me interested at all.
Sorry folks, but I just can't recommend it.
Finding Dory (2016)
Sometimes sequels really can be good...
I really hate sequels. Usually they suck but there are exceptions to this rule. This is one of those exceptions.
A great plot, awesome visuals with drama, comedy and everything you expect from Pixar. Lately, some of the movies from Pixar have been OK but not great. Still, Pixar really knows how to make a good movie. I think they outdid themselves on this one.
Go see it for yourself. We decided to watch Finding Nemo the other day in preparation and didn't realize that it had been 13 years since it was released. My how time flies. Oh, BTW, see it with your kids, even if they are adults now, they will thank you for it.
