Wildcat (2022)
Interesting insight too much personal stuff
The animals and environment is mesmerising. The mission is wonderful but can you imagine the cost of running such projects.
I always wonder if they just stopped the greedy deforestation and improved supply chains and created jobs in the areas if many of the problems would just go solve themselves.
Why would people poach if they can afford to eat and a fair standard of life? Maybe that's just wishful thinking and an oversimplified view.
I'm very supportive of people showing their emotions but not for entertainment purposes.
The film spends far too long looking at Harry crying and discussing relationship issues. They're a brave young couple and Harry did a great job.
The Power of the Dog (2021)
Cumberbatch's worst role yet
Excruciating, lack lustre, mediocre acting in general with barely any storyline. The viewer just sits in limbo uncertain of what point or story the film is trying to achieve. It is by far one of the most horrendous productions with absolutely no point, it reminds me of another pointless film just like Frida, both are just not worth the time it takes to watch it.
Rebecca (2020)
Ruined with the most tasteless ending
The entire film was a well deserved 6/10 or maybe even an 7/10 until you reach the end. After all the suffering I was happy they had escaped to a much brighter and more cheerful scene in Cairo only for her to light up a cigarette smoking it as would a hooker of the age and then proceed to talk about protecting "love" while erotically eating one another's faces off. Tasteless doesn't begin to describe it.
After all the class of her character throughout the movie, the scene at the end is nothing more than the director's attempt to associate 'love' with the empty and insecure sexual relationships of this age of neo-Marxism and of which Netflix is a key contributor.
Once again, another historical fiction ruined by the tasteless Netflix generation of politically slanted producers.
Boss Level (2020)
Great movie don't read if you don't like spoilers
I just can't believe the fact that it ended like that. So annoying but a great film combining humour, story and action.
Lost in Translation (2003)
A film that challenges the meaning of purpose in clear contrast with perceived notions of nobility and traditional expectations of commitment
It would serve better as a film to be called 'Caught in the headlights'. Two seperately married individuals, one younger and hopeless in her youth (Scarlett Johansson), the other older but arguably more discontent yet well versed in survival in a lonely world (Bill Murray), in each other they find a missing piece in after meeting in a hotel lobby. Over the course of their stay they uncover a shared depth in one another which gives birth to an inevitable but unacknowledged friendship which blooms into something that could be so very much more. The irony that both are tied by social expectation and convention elsewhere and yet clearly anchored together by a much deeper connection and sense of understanding for the emptiness that surrounds them makes it all the more challenging to watch without hoping for them to make the right choice. But what is the right choice? A very lovely film that describes the essence of emotional connection between people that transcends age, time and circumstance. Well worth watching especially if you're lonely and single.
The Alienist (2018)
I Enjoy It But A Poor Lead Character
Daniel César Martín Brühl González was not the character to lead this show. Unfortunately his performance is poor at best. I wish they had chosen someone more suitable for such a role.
Another Life (2019)
Nail The Coffin Shut!
The characters are just awful. The dialogue is diabolical. The story is boring and the effects are far less sophisticated than Star Trek in the 90s (at least Star Trek had a good storyline). Shut the damned show down. If only I could remove it from the suggestions on my Netflix account! On the whole, one of the worst sci-fi shows ever to hit Netflix.
