I can't believe I'm saying this about a Kate Winslet movie/series, but what a dull pile of durge. No chemistry between the actors, scripts fall way short of being even remotely interesting; just so boring. How can anyone make anything about this story so blah?! That in itself is quite the feat. Plus notes.....great sets and costumes. Such a shame as I was so looking forward to this. Kate's not age not an issue being a lot older than her boys, 'older' women should get the juicy tv roles. But I'm embarrassed for her in this. Made it most of the way thru second episode but just too ... stupid! I hope she gets some better roles.

I have read these books twice and now on my 3rd time. Yeees...I know that Hollywood changes people, places, and things. It's no Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings-which both are so close to the books-nothing important is left out.
But this is VERY 'loosely' based on the books. They have turned this into a glorified dystopian murder mystery...a boring one. The murder was only a thread that wound through the story NOT about the murder but about why. Why was there a revolt? Why do we live here? What's outside? What makes people clean when sent out, when they swear they won't?
The 7 stars are for the characters (although they didn't have judicial). Marnes hung himself from guilt and a broken heart. Juliet finds the truth about the cleanings and is sent to clean herself!
I could go on about how messed up and disappointing it is but I quit after S1E5.
The books were "couldn't put down, stay up till 3am, couldn't turn the page fast enough!" The series-done right-would have been the best series since GOT and LOTR.

I happened across this looking for something new. I have been laughing out loud for over 3 hours! 🤣
I read the reviews about seasons 3 and 4, so I'll update. I loved "Saving Grace" and so far this chick mild compared to Holly Hunter. Just for reference, I am 63 and don't usually watch these types of shows....until I watched Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
This show has just the right mixture of drama, comedy, and some of course being politically correct for today's society.
I love Murphy's tenacity and Pretzel's patience and the mystery in the middle of the chaos of her trying to navigate her life with her disability. Kudos 👍🏼

I wasn't expecting GOT, as a reader of GRRM I was still impressed with GOT because they took the time to make it 'real'. I didn't expect House of Dragons to be GOT as it came before Aegon the Conqueror (Fire and Blood) HOD has as many and more complex characters as GOT. If Amazon can spend over $80 million an episode for LOTR's Rings of Power, why is HBO cheating us? It's not just the bad acting, fake wigs, or the bad CGI (the dragons are cool); but they started in the middle of the story!! I feel cheated because they're not telling the WHOLE story. Aegon the Conqueror married 2 of his sisters and thus began the Targaryen Dynasty. They don't explain that the Velaryon's (as in Corlys) are close blood relations to the Family before they left Valeria or explain 'The Doom of Valeria' Spend some money HBO!! You have it!

I started this series with high hopes for the young girl searching for her name and her place in a world gone wrong. I waited with bated breath for the much hyped 3rd season premiere even though the series felt 'over' at the end of S2. The comeback was a total let down and headed down the road to hell...literally. Demonic human sacrifice? These writers have lost their way...won't be watching anymore and the episodes I do have are in the garbage.
