A Dog's Way Home (2019)
Movie of the year in Early 2019
There are plenty of Movies to come for the remainder of 2019. but this one currently holds the title of movie of the year I loved it!
Freddy vs. Jason (2003)
My first horror film that I saw in theatres
oh sure I saw re-runs of films like The Fly. The Blob. Killer Clowns From Outer Space. Orca. Jaws. Gremlins. The Howling. Cujo & Critters back in the 90s and i watched R.L. Stines Goosebumps on weekends. along with Buffy the vampire slayer during the week but mostly when it came to horror my dad aways said "thats too scary for you" or he'd change the channel and turn on something like The Flinstones or The Jetsons until "december 8th 2002" i turned 11 years old and that following summer of 03 I kept seeing promos for something called "Freddy Vs Jason" now nightmare on elm street and Friday the 13th were both in the category that my dad classified as too scary so naturally i knew he wouldn't let me see this in theatres and naturally i was surprised when he said "Hey son wanna go see Freddy Vs Jason in theatres" before I could reply he followed up by saying "now I'm gonna warn you its gonna be scary so its up to you. but if you wanna go see it we can and if it gets too scary we'll leave". after a few minutes of hesitation i said "Yes". after seeing it for the first time on opening weekend i saw it 5 more times in theatres before buying it on video. (yes I loved it that much) I'm 23 years old now and i still love this movie it sucks we never got a sequel and probably never will. but at least i can always watch this and tell my kids and grandkids about it being the first horror film i saw in theatres
The Halloween Tree (1993)
Perfect description of what holidays like Halloween & Christmas use to mean
when i was growing up holidays like Halloween & Christmas use to have special meanings now both are used only for political holidays to get votes. but to me both are still special I love it when months like September & October roll around cool air starts arriving brown leaves falling everywhere in neighbors yards. or late summer months like june sitting on your front porch and you feel a slight cool breeze off of the summer wind just to give you a tease of whats to come in a few months. sitting on the couch with your windows raised watching all types of college. nfl and highschool football on the weekends. seeing all the masks. decorations. candy and scary movies in stores watching the young children enjoy theirself for one night of the entire year as they knock on doors asking for candy. carving jack o lanterns. if you get a chance to watch this movie ....do it you wont regret it you'll get that special feeling you had when you were a kid at halloween
Taken 3 (2014)
A Mix between Death Wish 3 & Shawshank Redemption
in both of those movies the main character finds himself the main suspect behind the murder of a friend/loved one. Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) lets people know that he's not ready to step out of action movie scene just quite yet. the film has its campy . boring. dark. & sad moments which makes for an overall good 3rd installment in this series. there are a few scenes that don't make any sense at all i didn't see the first two taken films. but in all honesty this film dominates both of those in a heartbeat and beats any cash they may have raked in. the midway point of the film reminds me a little of lethal weapon 4. sum of all fears and along came a spider. its not a great film. but its not horrible either overall a good film with lots of action. you almost feel a sense of clinging to some of the non important characters more than the main characters. i'd rather watch this at the box office instead of American sniper.
