Mind Blowingly Silly
18 March 2024
When I read it description, I was expecting a Succession type of show. I love how there is an episode to break down each character and how they become. The acting is top-notch. That is all that is good to say about this show. The show is a train wreck of epic proportion, to the point that the great acting cannot make up for. The mother is just ridiculous of how just takes so much crap from everyone, but she clearly is a strong, capable and confident woman. The father is a moron. Everything from lying to his children, police and neighbors about his wife's whereabouts, not reporting his missing wife or holding a grudge for a player who left. The ending is beyond horrible and does not close or explaining anything. INFURIATING waste of talent.

Deviates from the book, in good ways...VISUALLY stunning
28 February 2024
Deviations from the book like, some minor name changes, time changes (Mariko has a child now), added characters (Yabu's nephew), small stuff, which add the run time and gives the story a bit more color. Nothing that would make James Cavell roll over in his grave (RIP).

This version of Shogun, so far, gives us more insight into Toranaga's thought process, which you only get from the book and not the early version of Shogun. All for the better, in my opinion.

Mariko shows real emotions. Blackthorne has the same grit and determination. LOVE how spineless and manipulative they make the regents!

This is a much gritter looking version of Shogun. Much more like what I would envision for a city of 1600 Japan.

The first 2 episodes have been such a delight and promising. I hope they keep up the pacing and storyline.

The first 6 episodes were GREAT and then the last 2....UGH
9 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Ok, where to start with this series. The premise is rather fun, a gangster family takes one son to become a nerdy college student and the other becomes a feared triad gangster. NO SPOILERS beyond the summary I just gave. Overall, the acting and story are excellent, and the actors give it their all. The Bruce character is such a nerd, you hate him just because...I almost root for the bullies. The first 6 episodes so the slapstick comedy and action series this is meant to be. It is fun, lighthearted and a pleasure to watch. This beginning episode 7 the show takes a weird twist. It doesn't get its own storyline. It has Bruce do some of the most silly, illogical things you can imagine. THEN it has the gall to then claim it was really Bruce showing strategic thinking and doing gangster stuff.....Based on movies like the Godfather, Goodfellas and Casino, Bruce's actions would have guaranteed him cement shoes and a 6-foot deep bed. At the very least, his brother Charles would have given him a serious beat down. Then the ending of the first season feels really rushed and not well thought through. It felt like a complete waste of 6, very entertaining episodes. So many unanswered and unresolved series questions. There is no real closure to the season.

Great series, horrible finale
5 December 2023
The cast and acting for the series are great. The general storyline (no spoilers) is that the "country" doctor in Australia is in reality an escapee English conman with a death sentence. His life goes about swimmingly before the appearance of his father, who threatens everything. There are several capers that we follow throughout the run of the series for Jack Dawkins. Where I ding the series is the final action as a doctor. Again, no spoilers, it just feels all very rushed and not well paced. It really needed to be a 10 part series and not 8. The comedy in the series is well done and does not feel forced. Well worth a watch!!!

Starts off great and ends in a disappointing thud
9 November 2023
NO SPOILERS. The action and storyline starts off really strong and entertaining. Feels like the writers gave up during the second half, which is a shame. The main character Muscle/David/Joe is likeable/relatable, but does all these actions that contradict who the character is, such as multiple love interests (no spoiler). The supporting actors are great. Karma is the under theme in the series and feels like a gut punch when it happens (in a good way), not once or twice, but multiple times!!!! There are so many story gaps and character actions misalignment, which is why I rate it so low. It is really distracting and maddening to see such a decent series and have it throw it away.

WOW, pleasant surpise
6 October 2023
If you're looking for the next Godfather, Unusual Suspects, or some other smartly written film, seek life elsewhere. This is a great action packed film with an excellent cast and a simple storyline. The action is great and is pretty violent, for those of us who enjoy that genre. The acting is pretty good and convincing. Standard revenge for a fallen friend, but well worth the time investment. The villains are so unlikable, it just makes rooting for the heroine that much better. Very clever how she outsmarts and hunts down the bad guys. I really like well developed and though through the heroine is. The whole hidden past thing is predictable, but you can forgive it for this fun film.

Another great installment.....DAUGHTER SUCKS!!!
27 July 2023
WOW, great installment for this series. This villain is on par with Boyd. He doesn't have the same nuanced evil as Boyd, but good villain. Boyd has flashes of good, but this one has nothing but bad intentions. The girlfriend is just a typical bimbo and hasn't added a great deal, yet

The introduction of the daughter character is such a waste. She adds nothing to the storyline and just the cliche teenager with angst is played out. I personally hate all the jazz music, but plays to the Detroit location. I would give this 10, but the daughter character is just so annoying I want to throw bricks at the TV and took away a star.

Great sequel, if it were not for Miles Teller
2 June 2022
It was a worthy sequel to Top Gun, but Miles Teller was completely miscast for his role. Overrated actor and that is cheesey line, "talk to me, dad....."

Worse Finale EVER
10 April 2022
The NYAG's office just looks dirty and spiteful. This season did not have the cleaver back and forth or blurring of good and evil. The characters are are all shadows of themselves, which made them so great in the prior seasons. PHILLIP is the worse addition to the mix. UGH, what a great show and now it's in the toilet.

This episode shows why season 6 sucks!
14 March 2022
How does a public servant like Chuck Rhodes have the nerve to pull a $$$ maker like the Olympics out of the hands of NYC is beyond me. Seems like a win-win for all. AND why isn't Jersey mad they got dropped altogether from consideration? So many plot hole!s! How does Taylor go from investment and analysis green genius one season to $$$ grabbing capitalist pig??? Wags is a shell of himself for no good reason and now only good to arrange hookers and parties?????

The last episode is the only episode that has anything to do with The Boys. Otherwise it is all nonsensical cartoons that ties Vought to some tied storyline.

Tired of all this WOKE BS
18 December 2021
I am tired of hearing how everything black is OK and fully justified because of how oppress the race has been over the centuries. The question is, what about all the other races that have been equally, oppressed? Why the disproportion of crime, neglect occurs in the black community? This show, all his podcasts, his network all point that it is EVERYONE ELSE'S fault and it is never that the community as a whole does not try to elevate itself. They never elevate business people or scholars. Instead the community elevates and makes heroes out of ex-cons, rappers and thugs. There is a root problem that Charlamagne, BLM and all these other loudmouths never address, WHAT IS THE COMMUNITY itself doing to pull their own race out of the gutter?

HA HA HA...typical M. Night Shyamalan Movie CRAP
22 September 2021
His misses outweigh the hits. Every movie he has made after 6th Sense has been GARBAGE. I keep going back hoping to get another 6th Sense, but time and time again I keep getting The Happening. The premise is pretty cool sounding, but M. Night Shyamalan does not take us for the horror genre ride we want. He gives us this garbage that I keep walking away from and wondering what the hell I just watch. GARBAGE....stay away for your own good.

Lebron, stick to what you know best, basketball. Acting, ain't happening....this "movie" proves it. This was a giant ad placement and ZERO fun. What kid in this generation knows Bugs Bunny???? Sorry, you will always be number 2 to MJ, on and off court!!

Good Grief, what a train wreck!!
5 March 2021
This movie was the worst piece of crap!!! The movie's storyline was so weak and all these actors are just tired and their act is so played out. The comedic acting was horrible....just terrible. The jokes are tied and some much wasted talent.

This was another homerun from Pixel
26 December 2020
Ok, first and foremost 99% of this movie was a homerun. Pixar/Disney always do a great job on their films and the voice talent. NO SPOILERS, but a great storyline about a jazz musician finding/re-finding his passion. Then this other really cute storyline of a new soul afraid to venture out and finding her passion. Ok, that as close to a spoiler as I will get.

Jaime Fox and Tina Fey are a voice acting gold combo! The storyline is really heartwarming and just tells us all, children and adult alike, to follow our passion and that's what makes life meaningful. Love the message and another cute set of animation by Pixar.

NOW, I had to take away 1 star, just because on a personal level I dislike the type of jazz they played. The music choice takes nothing away from the movie, the message or the marvelous acting by the entire crew. The type of jazz they used just doesn't resonate with me.

This has to be a must watch movie for Pixar and animation lovers!

Still the stinker of the lot
9 December 2020
The minor changes did not help this film at all. The same weak storyline still existed. Mary Corleone was the biggest disaster of the film and there is just not a way to fix her screen time. Her overacting and complete lack of chemistry with Vincent makes that whole arc unbelievable. The whole incest, half first cousin storyline is really creepy.

Gets ridiiculous....
25 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 1 was pretty good, but episode 2 gets a bit ridiculous. The acting is amazing and wasted on this script that is all over the place:

SPOILERS:

The kidnapped women each have about 7-10 feet of chain, which could easily be wrapped around Ronald's neck. You may be captive in a cargo container, but your captor is dead.

Why aren't they jumping on Ronald to knock him out? Three on one and Ronald will be missing eyes and should have the chain wrapped around his neck.

Ronald is nothing but Norman Bates, but less talented acting and with a horrible script.

GIVING UP on what was a promising show.

Assault to your sense and intelligence
12 November 2020
The first 15-20 minutes of this film were compelling. Showing the collection of taxes from the small gangs to pay to the larger ones. Interesting back story. Then it takes this odd turn of power struggle for the tax collection business. So many questions arise and are never answered. Like, why couldn't David enlist all the smaller gangs to fight off the threat to his business? If Shila is supposed to be this crazy menacing enforcer, why isn't he Hispanic? His accent is horrible and acting is just as good as his accent. Not many bright spots to this film. You will end the film wanting your 100 minutes of your life back.

So NOT funny
6 November 2020
Love the cast but the whole concept of the show is not funny. Waste of talent! Guy needs kidney transplant and is looking for a match. WOW, such an uplifting concept. I knew the show going to be bad when the opening sequence was dark and morbid. Everything is a misfire from the forced laugh track to the non-joke, jokes (having your doctor tell you your kidneys are failing and asking him if he will be a donor for you). Saving 30 minutes of your life and AVOID

Tariq doesn't disappoint...HORRIBLE in Power and just as bad here
7 September 2020
Tariq was the worst part of Power and his screen time here is just as horrible. No idea why they would green light a series keeping one of the worst characters ever created..

The show is decent...think of it as 2020 "The Wire", light
13 July 2020
This is our year's version of The Wire. This isn't was well written as The Wire and the acting is decent. The first season story line is a bit weak, but has potential for sure.

Has a strong woman and LBGQT spin, so I understand the negative reviews. This show isn't everyone's cup of tea, but pure story and acting solid show to watch

Weakest of the Connery Bond series
12 July 2020
This one doesn't hold up like the other Connery Bond films. Not sure what is worse, the poorly executed elementary school type jokes or the 80s music soundtrack. Shame, I really like Connery as Bond.

The acting gets worse and worse
20 January 2020
It's been on a steep drop off for a long time. The acting is getting worse. Tariq, Tasha and Paz are the worse actors EVER on this show. The Jr character was so laughable, I was cheering that they get nothing and should rot in jail. Pointless, painful episode to watch.
