I was cackling so hard- easy and playful entertainment
14 May 2024
This movie is so funny that I had to look up who the hell had written it while I was cackling. It's freaking hilarious.

And if people weren't so absurdly offended by kids cussing, this movie would have had way higher score.

Kids saying words that the church has labeled as forbidden because they pertain to the churche's definition of sinful subjects- it literally has no impact on the world whatsoever.

Go protest something that actually matters- like there being low to no penalty for harming kids. Stuff that actually does make the world about place.

Someone commented that this movie makes a joke out of the black culture and portrays them poorly. A part of that reason why, he said, was the the movie 'screamed fatherless' when you saw how the kids behaved. How the heck is that a 'black culture' thing and not a father thing?

This is so gross
2 November 2023
I was laughing so much from the movie in the beginning.

But that was before the premises of the movie appeared. A 32 year old is hired to seduce a 19 year old. To make matters more gross, the 19 year old has the personality of a 15 year old and he is so naive and innocent- he thinks the song Maneater is about a monster, he doesn't get any sexual innuendos at all. He doesn't drink alcohol, and she pressures him to drink. When he doesn't want to get naked she pressures and manipulates him to skinny dipping.

He's so uncomfortable and reluctant the whole time, but she just keeps pressuring and manipulating him, and punishing him when he tries to say any form of boundaries.

The whole movie is so gross. Why would they make a movie like this in 2023?

This series should be called plot convenience.

Warning: Spoilers
The manuscript... it's so horrible I had to look up who wrote it just so I can avoid more of it in the future- the reactions and the psychology of the characters is just out of wack.

10 people waking up at the island with memory loss, someone obviously out them there and they find a magazine in the sand called the island, but they don't bother open it to get answers. They just toss it. Instead, they go swimming, because- might as well enjoy being stranded at a beach.

And when a lot of unexplainable things happen, that clearly indicates that they are in a virtual reality, they just brush it off like it's a coincidence, because plot convince.

And why is everything on the island marked "property of the i-land" when the island is just a virtual reality inside everyone's mind?? Who's gonna steal this stuff? Oh, that's right, we just need to throw in a hint for the viewer.

When they get flashbacks from their lives, it's so cringe- all the men are bad, and the women are victims or martyrs. It's just to predictable, to black and white. Boring.

It's like a parody
7 August 2023
It's look like it's shot with a cell phone camera, it doesn't have the movie vibe. At. All

The music- it's like an SNL skit. The shark looks so dumb and some places it looks like Donald Duck put on his shark finn to skare his nephews.

And wth is up with the camera angels? It shoot so it looks like the viewer is standing in the water, ALL the time, looking up from the surface at the characters.

They know there's a shark in the water- so they split up (!) and the friend who is left behind is attacked, AFTER she sees the shark, drops her paddle in the water- does NOT ask for her friends to help her, but instead she leans in to the water and almost tips over several times, to get the drifting paddle by herself.

There are so many points of dumb logic on the characters part and plot convince, I just can't.

Wtf happened with season 2??
6 August 2023
Season one was SOOO good, I saw it on one sitting, obsessed, and I was so stoked about season two, but wth???

It's like a different show, made by different people. The flavor and vibe of the show is completely off.

Season two is filled with so much flashbacks, complete episodes are flashbacks, all the characters become main characters and there are so many side plots going on. We don't care about those people!

We want Carmys story- the bear. But even he is acting completely different- when he's on screen. Because his screen time has been cut in half. I swear, it cannot be the same writers and directors making season two.

And there's no making food! Just a zoom in on every single character's emotional journey and growth. What in the actual hell happened??

I played drop the number on my phone every episode of season two, zoning out, skipping episodes, struggling to keep going. Season one- I wasn't on my phone even once.

So dissapointed!
27 April 2022
18 first minutes of the movie is just like a music video, no dialogue, just a lot of sex. The rest of the movie has a bunch of music mashups with little to no dialogue and a thin thin story line. I think it was an easy way out, to leave movie 1 on a huge cliff hanger, and just continue movie number 2 like that didn't happen. And if the movie makers thought fans loved the sex, they totally didn't get why. It was the context and the story that made the sex hot. You can't just have a long music mashup with soft porn and no story line or romance building up the tension. Where's the foreplay? Common!
