Ginny & Georgia (2021)
Finally a second season that's better than the first one
Ginny and Georgia is a really great show with a lot of stories to be told and a lot of aspects of life to be covered in one show.
The first season started showing the story of Georgia and how she got Wellsburry after a lot of struggles that she went through during her life as a single teen mom.
I really enjoyed season two, the acting and the writing got pretty much better. It had covered self-harm, abuse, drug addiction, depression, ED, body dysmorphia, relationships, SA, anxiety and a lot more.
It's just sometimes everything happens so fast with no explanation and few unreasonable things happened.
Love in the Villa (2022)
Stop making the same movie
Same movies, different names.
I don't understand why do they spend all the money on cheesy rom-com movies that have the same plot and storyline. There's no creativity anymore, i was bored the whole movie.
Two strangers, who are probably heartbroken, meet in a really confusing situation and hate each other for no obvious reason, starts fighting and end up falling in love with each other. But instead of a film set in NYC, it's in Italy.
And don't get me started with the cringy acting and the repeated scenes from every rom com movie where the lead actress keeps smirking and the lead actor being this cocky man with an attitude.
Please, drop these writers who keep writing the same crap.
Why Are You Like This (2018)
Intresting untill
The problem is the muslim representation, as there's always many misconceptions about muslims that writers keep putting them in each show that has muslim character.
Being religious doesn't mean that you don't know how to have fun and having fun isn't certainly related to drinking and having s*x.
Mia's character is a bad representation on so many levels, if she doesn't consider herself a religious person then you don't have to show the muslim aspect of her, or at least not in that way, especially in ramadan episode; some of things are quite irritating, like Ramadan Mubarak, it's a phrase that should be said with respect and pride, not to be followed by cussing words or starting with bismAllah and then break your fast with a shot. And dogs aren't haram in Islam, and definetly not to be disgusted from like the characters showed when they noticed the presence of Gary the dog, some scholars believe that it's not likable to have a dog inside your house but it's okay if you want to raise one or play with a dog or cuddle with it.
So, i don't mind a muslim character even if it's not religious or 'conservative', but i do mind that the writers would stick to what they CAN write and to reinforce stereotypes even if it's little mistakes.
Snowpiercer (2020)
Could've been better
I binged watching first season because the show is entertaining, and this is the only good thing about it beside Jennifer's amazing acting skills.
There are many plot holes and the story misses many things and the most important is an explanation to why it's a train not a castle or a good-built building!
The cast is really weak especially the lead actor, he overreacts in each scene, some of the actors who played support roles were better than him actually, no hate but he needs to work more on his acting skills.
The only thing that is going to make me watch season two is Jennifer because i can't get enough from her talent and the lead actor should learn from her.
Élite (2018)
But WHY?
It's a stereotype when you assume all black people are thieves, all latinos are drug dealers, AND ALL MUSLIMS ARE OPRESSED and ALL HIJABI GIRLS ARE FORCED TO WEAR THE SCARF.
I started watching this show just because i saw a muslim character, actually i had a little hope of having a good representation, but it's the same bad stereotypes that are very offensive and unacceptable. We're really tired of having the same story about each muslim character in series and movies; it's always like HEY I'M OBRESSED BY MY FAMILY BECAUSE OF MY RELIGION. Educate yourself before writing a muslim character or just don't.
Sherlock (2010)
I love it!
It's a great show with great actors.
Sadly season 4 was kind of a disappointment, i expected more but still i like it.
Jinn (2019)
To be fair..
I was a little bit excited that netflix is producing a Jordanian TV show but it was a disappointment.
The story is poor and full of plot holes. The script and dialogues are bad. Why?
A. Jordanians don't talk like that; i don't mean the accent because few, not many, speak this way, but the conversations and dialogues weren't Jordanian, it's more of a translated American script.
The common Jordanian accent wasn't presented at all.
B. If you're filming in Jordan, then you should've known that most of the population are Muslims, and you didn't bring any hijabi girl? It's just unbelievable.
C. Jinn - which is an arabic term for the devil - isn't a myth or fantasy to most of Jordanians. So the story is more of a mysterious ghost one not really about Jinn.
D. It's very rare and unusual that teenagers in Jordan drink alcohol and smoke weed, most of Jordanians families are conservatives, not just because of religion, but due to culture, either rich or poor, muslim or christian, it's really rare in the Jordanian community. And this also applies to the sex relationships, sleeping together? Huh!
E. I don't care about the strong language because it exists, but i understand the rage, because generally it is rarely shown and presented in the Arabian TV and movies.
I don't see the Jordanian/ Arabian culture being presented in the story, which was really disappointing.
Most of actors don't have good acting skills. They need to improve their reactions and body language. It's a constructive criticism, they shouldn't take people's opinions personally but seriously and work and train more.
I don't think the show deserves second season. Because it's already full of mistakes.
Community (2009)
Brilliant!
This show is GREAT and different. It's not a typical comedy show, it has great and amazing ideas. It's so entertaining that i binged watching 5 seasons in a week.
The writing is incredible and the characters are well written. I can see them developing and being more appearent episode by episode which used to be like an explanation to each character's behaviour, that's why when you finish you need to re-watch again to understand the jokes you didn't laugh at before.
Jeff, Abed and Chang are my favorite characters, i can see how much hard work was put into developing them by the writers and the actors.
All of the cast are great actors, so i rate their acting skills by 9/10, and 10/10 it'd be for the dean and Chang. Sorry Annie.
Brilliant ideas, unforgettable episodes, i mean there are episodes that your jaw must drop to either laughing so hard or to be amazed. Or both.
The thing i hate in a comedy show is when a character leaves the show. Chevy "Pierce" didn't like working in community so he left and after that Donald "Troy" left. Then Yvette "Sheirly" left also in S6. It was hard to watch.
I found S1-3 great. S4-6 are averagely good.
How to Get Away with Murder (2014)
I don't know if i like it now
The first couple of seasons were intresting and entertaining but not great. The storyline after that started to become messy, tacky and boring.
The relationships are problematic and understoodable, i didn't like most of the dramatic plots in the show, they tend to make most of the characters mysterious and you don't know why.
Viola Davis is a great actress and she really carried the show for the whole seaeons but the other actors were just good and sometimes really bad.
There's a long duration between each season and between each episode! Sometimes i forger the whole story wheh the new seasons start to premire.
I liked the first and second seasons and i'd give them both 8/10, but the seasons after i'd just give 5-6/10. However, i'm still intrested.
La casa de papel (2017)
I'm not okay with this
S1 & S2 were great and i'd give them both 8/10, but 3&4 i'd give only 3/10, especially the 4th season.
First of all, both latest seasons were full of clever ideas and plans, but they were presented in a messy way, which led to lowering the quality of the story.
The relationships issues were problematic and made nonsense, there were a lot of overdrama brought just to make a tragic or sad story out of nothing, i mean they were tacky and boring.
HUGE MISTAKES
Seeing how much the professor is a geniues makes you intuitive for each plan and each problem happens. A lot of stupid simple problems and mistakes that happenned to get bigger and more diffucult were easy to fix and should've been a part of the plan from the begining since he is always predictible of every problem that might happen and what is the soultion plan for it!
The acting in general is good; i'd say the actors who played Berlin, Nairobe and the inspector Seira were very good. But the others were just good.
I didn't find the flashbacks, especially the dramatic ones, useful or intresting, they were most of the time boring.
Camera, direction and production were at their best.
I don't like how they tried to make them look heroes, i mean okay most of us felt emotional toward the thieves, but i didn't understand the protests and the buzz around them in the show.
I find the first and second seasons great, i enjoyed them so much, season three was good and averagely entertaining but season four was bad that you can skip directly to ep 7 and you wouldn't miss anything.
I just think they should've stopped after season 2.
Game of Thrones (2011)
A masterpiece turns to a piece of sh**!
What drove me to watch game of thrones is the fame of this show, everyone was talking about how great it is, and i watched it before season 8 came out on April, and i binged watching the 7 seasons in 1-2 weeks, all the time i was like "no one can beat this show, what a masterpiece!!", it was all the definition of cinema perfection from all the sides except for one thing that used to bother me; the acting skills of the lead characters, they're good but not great as the show. I liked how it was dramatic, thrilling and mysterious with no limits, i like how it was deep and meaningful, there are certain scenes that equals millions of episodes from another shows!! But, season 8, like what is going on, why would you ruin this amazing world with this rush, irrational and nonsense way, i was bored that i watched the end scene from the last episode, the only thing was perfect is Emilia'a acting, she really developed herself, but the storylines was perfect and they really ruined it so baaad.
I rate all the seasons 'except 8": 10/10, so that's why i'd like to rate the show 10/10..
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2015)
I loved this show but..
I loved this show because it's a 100% comedy, no drama and sad storylines. But the things i don't like are; Jacquelin and Dong's storylines are the cringiest thing that i've ever watched, their characters weren't funny, and i always skip their scenes, also, i skip the episodes where the whole plot is about them, ugh, and don't let me start wity Tina's charactrer, i know she's the writer, but she didn't have to involve that character in the show. I love Kimmy, Titus and sometimes Lilian, they're amazing. I love how the show is using a high level of sarcasm. I think it's good that they finished the show when it was great, to be clear, i want more seasons but this is better.
** I know some will say there was romantic stories like Mikey and Titus and Kimmy and Dong, but i don't count them as ones.
