Rick and Morty: The Ricklantis Mixup (2017)
Season 3, Episode 7

promise finally delivered:the darkest season
11 September 2017
r&m is known as a si-fi show, but the real appealing part to me is the black humor on the real world, like season 1 ep.2 scary terry's nightmare was his high school life.

to me,these dark, black humor portray to the reality are always much more powerful than the realistic kind of portray. and this episode is all about that!

i think this episode is gonna be THE best one of the whole show. i have to pay a tribute to the writers:Dan Guterman,Ryan Ridley, and of course the reality of American society. :)

by the way,the factory worker Rick storyline reminds of Black Mirror season 1 ep.2,the reality show episode. don't know if any one feels the same way?

Rick and Morty: The Whirly Dirly Conspiracy (2017)
Season 3, Episode 5
10/10
this season restarts from now
21 August 2017
in this season i think there are two kinds of twists

one is the character facing a choice, either A or B.

the other is there are 'option A' and 'option B',but the character chooses 'WHAT THE HELL'.

in the first kind of twist,'option A'was usually the conventional one, which means the character won't choose it,or it would be lame. therefore,it must be 'option B',which makes 'option B' pretty obvious without any surprise. in episode 2,3,4, i see a lot of this kind of twist.

but in this episode, the second kind of twist came back, and this kind of twist is the very definition of 'rick and morty'. yet ironically,it's a 'rick and jerry'episode.

if there are Japanese comic (manga)fans here
15 January 2017
if you are a manga fan, then you probably know Yoshihiro Togashi.

if you know him,you probably know his work'hunter×hunter'.

so,obviously the Holmes family is exactly like the Zoldyck family, it's so similar i don't even know where to begin with,i think the best way is just to read the comic,or watch the animation adapted from the comic.

i don't know whether the writers of 'Sherlock' knew about the comic, if they didn't,then it's fascinating how similar these great writers deal with the subject of 'the unusual family'.

the comic(or the animation)is a must-see.

House of Cards: Chapter 52 (2016)
Season 4, Episode 13

singularity
6 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
in this show,Underwood is a singularity. all rules don't apply to him. even the rule between reality and fiction: ONLY he can talk to the audience.

what happened in the very end of this episode is, Claire became ANOTHER singularity. (she looked at the camera)

i think in the next season, she will directly talk to the audience too. there is no more leading role or supporting role, there are only THEM, and this,i believe is also the meaning of the post of this season: Two Singularities.

(by the way,the post did a good job of misleading the audience,it made us think that this season was going to be Frank vs Claire.)

Warning: Spoilers
i see a lot of his early stuffs in this film.

for example,Michael Madsen killing that black dude with the song"Now You're All Alone",the song described the victim's situation accurately,it reminds me of Michael Madsen's "ear-cutting scene" in "Reservoir Dogs",the song "stuck in middle with you"also described the victim's situation accurately.

also,in the end,Walton Goggins reading that letter, and Samuel L. Jackson and him joking about that letter,it reminds me of "pulp fiction"where Mia telling that "catch-up joke" after the "disastrous date". and the song "There Won't Be Many Coming Home"was also an accurate description of the ending, just like the song played in the end of "Reservoir Dogs".

there is also the"people-hiding-under-the-floor twist",just like in "inglourious basterds". and a lot of shots remind me of"django unchained",for example the scene where Channing Tatum sitting on the chair talking to Bruce Dern, was just like the scene where Samuel L. Jackson talking to Leonardo DiCaprio in the library.

a lot of examples like above,it is as if Quentin want to compress all that he was good at into a very small space. it worked very well, that is basically how i feel about this film.

by the way,the music was GREAT,i think the word i should use to describe Ennio Morricone's music in this film is"evil". comparing to the typical "Ennio Morricone western film",this one is so so special.
