Overwrought, over acted and wallowing in faux emotion this is a bad film. Nothing is ever spoken when it could be shouted and the musical score then attempts to drown out the shouting. It's a long film so all the hysteria and noise become very tiring. The links between characters feel contrived and not one is likeable making it hard to engage in the film. I'm guessing Phillip Seymour Hoffman's hospice nurse character is supposed to be the one sympathetic character, but being constantly on the verge of tears looking after a dying scumbag suggests he'd be highly unsuited to the job.
There is a lengthy prologue about unlikely events that supposedly happened but in the end it seems irrelevant to the movie.
