It is a great peace of art
20 July 2023
It is not crazy adventurous, so don't see it if that is what you are looking for.

The message, as important as ever: history tends to repeat itself.

Set between the end of WWI supposedly the war that would end all wars and a glimpse seen only by a few of the beginning of WWII, you can guess what the main message of this movie is about.

The art of making this message come through in a light, funny, endearing way without loosing its importance.

The unsuspotious callout of doing the right thing no matter what. Of chosing love and being altruistic, a capacity within all us (except the sociopaths, of course).

Beautifuly put together, brilliant actors.

I don't get the low ratings for this high quality job. But, again, it is not an action movie.

Worth the watch
15 August 2022
Being a fan of Baz Luhrmann's work it hurts giving a 7/10 to this movie.

It took me some weeks to do it. And the reason for it is the storyline.

I didn't like to see Elvis' life through those thick pink lenses.

He is legendary as it is. Reality is ritcher than what is portayed on this movie.

Other than that and because I don't want to leave any spoiler, it is definitly worth the watch for Austin's performance, to learn something about the roots of Elvis' music and for the direction and production.

So long it devalues it
26 April 2022
I came to watch this documentary series almost by accident. The subject is very interesting. In my opinion, it could have taken this long (maybe...) if the profile of the killers had been analised by a profiler, which doesn't happen.

They barely scratch the surface.

But maybe the objective would be to focus on the heroes in the police department that perhaps gave birth to profiling. It isn't well done in that perspective either.

Lots of information is repeated from episode to episode (I think even in the same episode) turning this series into a seemingly cheap one.

Wich is s shame. A lost opportunity.

See it, you will love it (except maybe for the last two)
15 April 2022
I will write about the first eight episodes first.

I loved, and I will aid it better LOVED this series exept for the last two episodes.

I waited for a few days until I came here to leave a review, to let if sink in, see if my opinion changed regarding the last too, but it didn't.

The first 8 epsiodes are EPIC. As beautiful as as uggly as life can be.

Regarding all episodes: -Cast: can't imagin it could be any better
  • Writing: so engaging, so beautiful you will fall in love
  • Photography: Even in the small screen it is so amazingly weel done you feel imersed and it is like you are there
  • Production: same

I am all in for real drama, but, in my opinion... Let's say I wished someoned had seen it before me and told me to skip the last two episodes.

Too real for my sensitivity.

Perfect satire only that it is perhaps more real - please watch it
26 December 2021
This movie is sadly not going to be aprreciated has it should because sadly it exposes the truth that we are living in an era of false positivism where most of us rather live in a dangerous lie than facing the hard truth. This goes for deeply worrying issues and for everyday small gestures.

So here I will ask kindly for people to please see it with an open mind. Your mind will make you not want to see the hard truth it tryes to expose. But avoid it. Take the opportunity to ask yourself: how much of this may actually be happening?

Not the meteorite by itself. So far as we now, that part is not real in itself but is a methafor for other many issues we are dealing nowadays.

This movie is an invitation to question the status quo. To be brave to the right difficult thing looking beyong all the marketing campaigns of politics, powerful industries, etc.

The acting is supperb. The script, production, etc - I mean, I can't see it could have been done better.

The hats off for Mr. DiCaprio who stands firmly in the hard task of delivering bad news that make most run away from. Brave him. I extend the compliment to all other that do the same. And I thank them.

Why?
13 December 2021
"I missed the gals and I love having them back. But are they?" - wrote a review after 2nd episode and am updating it after 4th. I don't want to watch it anymore. It is so bad it hurts.

Except for the fashion.

So here is what Ican tell you:
  • SJP: no one can rock aging like she does. No fillers and no cirjuries (at least non is notiaceble) and she looks gourgeous. My hats off to her on that regard.

  • The explanation for Samantha being missing is so tasteless it is an insult to the fans not only of the character but of the show itself.

  • I swear sometimes it seems the characters are acting like they are in their elder years. Okay, somepeople don't eveolve with time. Flaws can come even more evident on regards to bitterness, etc. But these women are acting silly.

  • Too many clichés. Even the bisexual character. Except for the part where I find her and her jokes too be too much. Maybe I've gone soft. But I am not spending no more of my time on this show unless someone tells me in some weeks that somehow it got worth it. If it happens I will finish watching the season and update my review.

Painful poem worth for the art
8 December 2021
I had seen the trailers of the movie and read plenty of reviews before actually watching it. I was not expecting what I have encountered.

Throughout it I felt as I asume was the intent of the director and producer: pure angst. So in that manner, it is splendid.

We get to see Diana as never before. And no matter if you were a fan or a hater this will be a really tough journey to follow.

I personaly can empathise with both Diana and the queen. As an outsider I came to believe through the lenses of others that they are / were both right each in their own story and perspective.

In this movie we get to feel Diana's pain in a world were she clearly didn't fit (if there was ever a world she felt at home we may never know). We get to live her strugle with mental health. It is gruesome. It is brutal and saddening.

Does it go too far? I can't tell. It is an artistic work. It tells how the artist feels Diana felt.

It is not enjoyable. But that is its purpose. It was no secret Diana suffered from mental health. Both her children have done a wonderful work in raising awarenes to the importance of giving mental health its right attention and care.

God, I am babbling. That is how I came out of this movie.

Masterpiece about faith
22 November 2021
I am writing this review so very late. I watched the movie in a theater when it was out and will stay with me forever.

I had heard feedback from friends and understood that I would be embarking in a journey that made people love it or hate it.

One Catholic friend told be that it was too long and boring. Hearing this, a mutual older firend told me in private that the film is wonderful and that our friend was simply too immature to get it.

I saw the movie on the same week these conversations happened.

I LOVED IT.

Yes, the movie is slow. And this fact is part of the magnicent work of art.

The path of faith, for those whom go into it deep, is slow.

And also like the movie, many times painful.

And beautiful.

To me, this movie celebrated a true walk on faith. And it did it perfectly.

I won't say that my friend whom didn't appreciate it was immature. Maybe he was but that is not the point for me.

I am sure many mature people that have seen it and felt about it like he did.

You either have and are walking the path of faith as deep as you can or you can believe in God but never give it much thought, as a person of faith. And to me that is the difference. Anyone whom walked the deepest path will relate and understand the movie. Those who don't probably won't like it.

I run into a youtube video that made curious to read my review of Silence and that was when I noticed I hadn't written it. Couldn't go past it and had to do it now.

Really sad for the such low rating when talking of a wonderful masterpiece.

Not because it is Christian. Because it captures in perfection a soul jorney so many of us go through.

Everything about it is perfect. From the path, to the picture, the acting, directing... Simply perfect.

Disappointed
7 November 2021
To begin with I believe it is important to clear one thing: I am a marvel big fan.

As always, the movie is very well done so you won't be dissapointed with the special effects, etc.

Perhaps because of the introduction of so many characters at once was what made it fail for me. I didn't like every character and even those I did connect with it was in an almost supperficial way.

The storyline is completely different from other marvel films. Another set of beings. The good guys might be bad. This part could be refreshing but I didn't feel it.

Please someone tell actors to stop freezing their faces (won't mention wich). It is bad for the movies and probably for themselves. We have seen extraterrestial characters more expressive than some actors that go down this road.

I hope movies that will follow will make up for this one, wich felt like a very long introduction. I missed the LOLs all other marvel films give us, mixed with drama and adventure.

All in all, I'd say this movie failed in the above mentioned features I'd expect to encounter.

Bravo
2 November 2021
Moving from the fact that I find it weirdly egotistical for one to make a documentary about their own self, this is a great documentary of a peculiar beautiful young woman that grew breaking successes in one of the roughest industries there is, took a punch, felt like she fell and steped up to contribute to support values in which she believes.

It is personal and deep. I loved how she exposes the things in her that makes her as human as any other girl or women in our society, giving her stuggles and her ability to overcome them as examples that I am sure are of great importance to the young.

I like her songs, don't know them all (by far), can't be called a fan. Got to see the trailer by chance , decided to watch it on a day I had nothing else to do.

I would heve been happy to have watched it in any day.

Bravo Miss Taylor. You showed the world how true female leadership looks like. Bravo.

If you have nothing else to do
16 October 2021
Not being a super fan, I did watch the original so it is hard not to make comparisons. So I will begin with that:
  • Original characters were more likeable (even the "mean" ones) and had more depth
  • Plot of the original much more interesting. E.g.: the secrecy of the GG made things a lot more engaging
  • Fashion also much better on first run
  • The new GG is creepy
All in all, the show by itself can be a meach passing your time if you have nothing at all to do.

Young teen suited, sex apart
4 October 2021
I am really not sure if I should give it a 10 or a 1... I am joking of course but I did have to stop and think if maybe I was simply being too harsh judging a young teen audience show. But no, the One start is well deserved.

I haven't read the books and I watched up to the third episode wishing the positive reviews were right.

Saddly I strongly disagree with them. This show is so bad it hurts.

Begining with the plot, not missing the characters and all the way to the production tis show fails bultly.

Please, If you're over 14(?) save your time, move directly to something better. It won't be hard to find that smt better, I promisse.

Final review: If you'll watch it, be warned
22 September 2021
I waited to watch all 8 episodes before writing this review. I don't agree with those reviews based on 1 or little more episodes that say the pace is too slow. It is slow but at the same time engaging, at least for me since I am a psychotherapist.

I do agree with the reviews on Nicole: she is a beautiful woman but has to urgently stop freezing her face. It is really distracting to look at and it does not serve her nor her work, which is such a loss.

I was surprised by her failed Russian accent. She has been one of my favorite actors and I didn't believe a review that stated this fact until I heard it myself. It is really weak, not expected at all.

The show has promise during all episodes. I was really interested in knowing how it would end and I can say that I was not expecting what I saw.

As a therapist I have to say: Masha was a broken person from the start and people who are that much broken can not heal others. She mixes her own experiences with those around her, she is deeply manipulative. Both really off tools to be able to help anyone. Manipulate? Yes.

Then there are the drugs. Please be aware. Hallucinogenics can't make you heal, on the contrary.

Loved the original, wish hadn't seen this sequel
14 September 2021
I was looking forward to watch this movie. Had a really blast with the first one - the cast, its' originality, the characters, storyline. It was adventurous, entertaining and real fun.

This one felt really boring except for some really small instances that you forget midst all the rest. What a waste.

The story unfolds painfully slow, don't know if I can blame the new characters. Feels none of their stories were developed like they deserved, some could have not been made (occupied space without adding anything).

Can not understand the great ratings and reviews.

If you are looking for a movie that will make you LOL all the way even past the theatre room once it is over, watch this. RR does not disappoint. Damn is he funny and cute. It is also appropriate for children. I am of the opinion that we need more of these movies. Congrats to all involved.

Boy is it bad
25 August 2021
Don't even know where to begin. The story is so silly and this is not a comedy. The plot evolves at a slow pace only God knows why. Some acting is good, some is bad.

Worse than that, character development and some characters in particularly are so bad.

Cheap silly soap opera (and here I apologize for the genre because it is worse than that).

Some characters are really compelling but the way the plot unfolds they all become reductant, boring, not smart, predictable.

I haven't the books(?). All I can say is that for the characters , actors and basic story line they could have made a really compelling show.

They fail completely.

Great special effects - lacks heart
17 July 2021
This TV Show deserves 5 stars for cinematography and special effects. I am a big fan of the SW saga and found this series to be really boring. The baby is super sweet. Other than that the plot lacks any kind of depth. Characters are poorly developed.

Watch it if you enjoy watching lots of fights in a galaxy far away. That is all it is. Fights.

So much worth it - don't miss it! Most adorable heartwarming show
10 June 2021
Okay. So to begin with I have to say I haven't seen such an adorable hybrid human ever. Just to watch this character would have been enough. It is so well accomplished both by the young actor and the special effects I kept the whole season thinking I wanted one of him with me to hug all the time (not to sound creepy - he is just so truly adorable).

The story revolves around Gus, the hybrid I am writing about - human with something of a deer. And the tale by itself can also melt jour heart.

Not are characters are complexed so if you just like those kinds of show maybe this is not for you. There are the bad-bad people, the good-good and plenty complexed human characters like us humans are. We get to know their stories throughout the first season.

The plot keeps you hocked and again for the special effects, they are really awesome.

Feel good kinda of show that also makes you think about how we humans behave, in the good, the bad and all the in between.

And will finish as I started: Gus.

Kate Winslet never disapoints
7 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Everything is perfect. The plot - OMG! The characters so human. Kate Winslet is perfect as always and performances as a whole were great.

I am conflicted about the ending. Surprising? Double that.

But it broke my heart. Boy one of the characters has to be the unluckiest person in the planet and God can she survive - felt so much for her.

I love to binge watch but I am glad I had to wait a week for each episode on this show. So much happens.

It is very American I think (the main character's choice could very easily have been other and many would stand with her - again, I am conflicted).

One thing missing though - there are two detestable characters (the teen boyfriend and girlfriend) that should have learned a bigger lesson. They are detestable though one of them did a very good thing in the end. Are these spoilers?? I guess they might be. Damn.

Didn't met expectations but worth the watch
3 June 2021
I have to be honest and say I saw this movie having Maleficent in mind (this latter I found brilliant). And in this light, it did not met my expectations.

I was expecting the same twist of turning the villain into to good guy, lots of laugh, sweet tender moments and marvellous photography and design (including costume design).

So in Cruella we do get to see she is not the villain. The two main actors (The Emma's) did a wonderful job as always and costume design is awesome.

Some special effects could definitely be better.

And in sum, it did not make laugh as expected and the sweet tender moments were lacking.

But is nevertheless a fun watch.

Entertaining, touching, adventurous - give it a chance
27 May 2021
I don't agree with the low reviews and my 10 stars are to try to balance the movie rates.

I did not love the movie but I would give it an 8. Maybe it is not the most realistic movie, but do all movies have to be? I don't think so.

The movie is well done and believable (not sure if scientifically accurate, probably not but it is not a documentary). Yes, people make wrong choices at the heat of a moment (heck, people make wrong choices all the time). So for me, though as watching from the outside some of the characters choices and actions got under my nerves, the truth is that it is perfectly plausible for them to happen in real life.

It took me sometime to give this movie a chance because of the low ratings. I am glad I gave it a go. It is entertaining, touching, exciting.

Genre should be clarified
26 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I did enjoyed the show a lot but the ending completely ruined it for me. It is a very specific genre that is not clarified. They should say it has the supernatural in it, because it does and in a way that ruins the whole plot (it did it to me but for the good ratings it seems most people liked the twisted ending).

Love it! It is really great
7 April 2021
Okay, first things first: Why are there reviews of the movie in the TV show page?

I didn't see the movie. If the story is based on something else other than the movie I haven't seen or read it either.

BASED ONLY ON THE TV SHOW: I love it! Acting is great, storytelling great, characters multilayered and their development is great also, a great portrait of human nature with all our complexities within an unfortunately possible future (maybe not in a train but who cares?).

It has love, war and all in the between.

Really great. Can't wait for season 3 (please don't take long...)

What a scare - not for YA
23 December 2020
This series felt like watching a horror genre. The acting abilities of most actors are really good and it is technically a very good show - for those who have the guts for it. I really advise against teenagers to watch it - this is not the by any means a lens into reality. Okay, some children are exposed to dramatic experiences and some of them can't handle the derived emotions that may translate the most unwelcome experiences as they grow. But this is not the norm. The show is like a display of teenagers who went that dreadful rabbit hole. It doesn't help at all even those whom are experiencing similar lives. It just shares the "hell" for teenagers. Too grotesque and not helpful at all. If you want to be horrified and depressed, go ahead and watch it. I truly believe only psychopaths can really enjoy it. Hey, I am one who likes a series close to reality - This show isn't it! Okay, the show does show that most people aren't just bad. That troubled humans are simple messed up. It also portraits a psychopath (in my opinion) quite well. But all of it is too much. Too much nudity, too many teenagers running the worst possible path - and it doesn't even has the generosity of making the stories whole within that "hell". Worst spent 8 hours watching a TV show. It teaches nothing and really... Is society that broken that a show like this is given such high rates? Or is it that it is cool stating you love watching hell scenes? Hope is the latter
