UIO: Sácame a Pasear (2016)
In seven years no one has commented on this great movie?
This is a wonderful and very well-made movie of a high school girl and her life. I'm surprised no one has yet to review it, and that it is showing up here as only 5.5. Definitely worth a watch. This movie will not insult your intelligence, and may open your eyes to what could actually be happening in many girls' lives in similar scenarios. The movie is based in Ecuador and is subtitled, but the messages and themes here are universal, the cinematography and acting top-notch. I am also seeing no reviews at all of this movie on Rotten Tomatoes. I am very much at a loss at understanding such a thing. Chill out, have a smoke, relax, and watch this beautiful work.
Seize printemps (2020)
Wonderful and under-recognized movie
This is such a beautiful movie. I loved everything about it. The ending was just right. The acting, the cinematography, the writing, all very inspirational and so pleasing to take in. There is something to be said for thoughtful conversation and genuine feeling, and I can see the correlation to the movies of Eric Rohmer and "Paris, Texas" as Suzanne said in an interview. Incredible work from such a young and talented source. Please give us more. My favorite scene is probably the short one in the cafe involving a kiss on the neck and the holding of hands. No dialogue. None was needed. Thank you.
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life (2016)
Gilmore Girls fans will appreciate
If you liked the series, this mini-series should not disappoint. Obviously the actors are older, but if you loved them then, you'll love them now. Everyone involved here did a wonderful job preserving the aura and distinct character of the show. Keep in mind, the show ended almost ten years ago, and was now very closely resurrected. My favorite part, which is a bit of a deviation from the style of the TV series, is in the last "movie" Fall, starting with Rory wandering the empty, foggy Stars Hollow street at night, including the unique and innovative cover of the Beatles "With a Little Help from My Friends." Absolutely beautiful. Amy, please keep going. You are a true genius.
