The Mandalorian: Chapter 23: The Spies (2023)
This is the way!
Dank Ferrik! After what was arguably the weakest episode of the series and a season with a more relaxed pace, the show finds its way back to the formula that made it succeed in the first place: funny and cute baby yoda moments, great fight sequences, unexpected plot twists and big reveals. But on top of this all, the relationship between Mando and Grogu, which is after all the heart of the show, takes a new unexpected turn .Giancarlo Esposito shines once again! I watched this at Star Wars Celebration and the reaction was extremely positive. An episode almost everyone will like! Cannot wait to see the finale!
The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 5: Return of the Mandalorian (2022)
HOW IS THIS A BOBA FETT EPISODE
Wow! Call that unexpected... Best Boba Fett (?) episode si far!! Great fight scenes, unexpected appearances, very important information, A LOT of callbacks, and little emotional moments. Very excited to see what comes next!!
Vikings (2013)
A true must watch for historical drama lovers
Vikings starts small and simple and progressively becomes more and more complex. Although the first few episodes may seem a bit slow, you cannot help getting engaged in the story especially thanks to its fantastic main character, brought to life exquisitely by Travis Fimmel. His charisma and inner struggle carry the show through his extraordinary rise and his ultimate demise for 4 seasons. It is not until you loose Ragnar that you realize how pivotal he is to the success of the show.
The saga continues with the story of his sons. Although it manages to maintain the spirit of the first few seasons with remarkable performances from all the cast, especially Ludwig and Andersen in their roles as Bjorn and Ivar, Ragnar's absence looms big.
Despite a few questionable plot choices in seasons 5 and 6, the show remains a brilliant depiction of politics, war and life in the viking culture. If you are looking for thorough historical accuracy, this is not show. But if you are ready to embark on an epic journey through the saga of o a farmer who becomes king and his family, buckle up.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Probably the most special experience I have ever had in a theatre
Where to start?
Although I had extremely high expectations before watching the movie, I am so happy to say they have been surpassed. The movie builds upon characters and storylines we have known and loved for years and yet delivers something new and unexpected, while always staying true to what has happened before.
Tom Holland absolutely shines in what could surely be his best ever performance yet. All the returning actors from previous Spider-Man outings embody their characters as if they had never stopped playing them.
Rarely do you get to experience the range of emotions the movie delivers. I have laughed quite a lot, clapped a lot, and definitely cried a lot, both of sadness and happiness.
Although I am left with some questions with regards to conclusion, this is one of the most satisfying movies I have ever seen, mixing nostalgia and novelty with ease.
A masterpiece (why not?) and a true love letter to Marvel and Spider-Man in particular.
WandaVision: We Interrupt This Program (2021)
Great to see a new perspective
This episode is a great insight into what is really happening around Westview. And literally, I mean around, because no one knows what on earth is going on IN Westview. The wait has been worth it and the series gets much more interesting, and yes, also dark and mysterious. It was also great to see Monica in action and Darcy back after 8 years and I think we are all thrilled to know Wu has managed to learn the card trick!
His Dark Materials (2019)
Excellent adaptation of Pullman's trilogy
This series could have been a total disaster, especially consider the bad treatment the first movie adaptation got. However, I have been very pleased, as well as surprised, that they have come up with this series. The format is much better, as we get the chance to explore the story almost as it was represented in the books. The backround is very cleverly explained and both James Mcavoy and Ruth Wilson shine in their respective roles. This is a series you cannot miss, especially if you are a fan of the books. Cannot wait to see the next seasons!
