It's not as bad as the movie version...
24 February 2024
Back when this was announced with the original creators, I had small hopes that it will bring a faithful adaptation to the show...the only problem is that it's coming from Netflix. Then news came out that the original creators of the cartoon show quit production of the live action adaptation show and now I'm worried. I wasn't interested in watching the trailers because I was scared of Netflix ruining another beloved series with their decisions and Avatar: The Last Airbender holds a special place in my heart as a kid with its amazing world building, characters, story, and emotional rollercoaster.

I finally watched Episode 1 and...it feels off. Not as bad as the The Last Airbender (2010) but not as good as the cartoon show. The effects were okay, the acting was...honest bad lol, I don't mind the new direction take but it was weirdly executed. I might try out Episode 2 but so far it's not a good start.

Oppenheimer (I) (2023)
10/10
Tense and haunting film
1 August 2023
It's crazy how one of the most anticipated summer blockbuster films of this year is based on a historic figure...and it's directed by Christopher Nolan. I think this is the movie people been wanting for a while. Something not action-pack, not computer generated, not fun or silly quips, but something new or refreshing that us audiences haven't seen in a long time. Even with Nolan's style of filmmaking, this movie feels different from the rest of his work. It's basically a 3-hour movie about J. Robert Oppenheimer rises and fall of his fame as becoming the "father of the atomic bomb." It's mostly people talking throughout the movie, but the main focus is Oppenheimer which is more of a character study in his point of view and Lewis Strauss. The cast was fantastic, it was visually stunning, the music score is very tense like you were a part of that certain scene, the story was great as usual from Christoper Nolan. Sometimes the sound mixing can be loud between dialogues, but I can easily make it out what characters are saying. In the end, the movie will leave you in fear for what the future of a nuclear weapons will be and the consequences.

I honestly don't know what to title this
12 May 2023
Now, I don't know what I expected going in to this movie. All I know it was something about the multiverse and it looks like a B+ blockbuster film to me. I'm was so shock to see that this movie was more than that. As funny and weird this movie was, it had some heartfelt emotional moments in it with a believable message. At the end, my mind was all over the place (no pun intended) and as I'm typing this, I can't wrap around what movie I just watched and how incredible it is. I'm glad I got around the experience and it is up there as one of the best movies of all time...well, for me of course. That's all I have to say.

Flat plot with a colorful experience
12 April 2023
The Mario games were never known for story, just for how fun it is. I guess that's what this movie is trying to do, but as a movie you expected better. It was a bit flat and felt a little rushed at some points. There's also some 80s music play in the movie which I can understand what it was going for, although it felt unnecessary. Seem like it's a reminder that it's made by Illumination Studio so expect some pop/rock music.

OKAY ENOUGH WITH THE CONS!! LET'S TALK ABOUT THE POSITIVES!! The movie was fun to watch and it was hard not to gushed over some Easter Eggs and references. The actors in this film, especially Jack Black, did a phenomenal job playing their part. Chris Pratt, who I thought was going to be cringe, actually did OK playing as Mario. I never saw Princess Peach as a tomboyish type, but I was okay with this. Everything in this film was funny, exciting, and something to recommend your family to watch. I promise you, you'll have a good time watching this 👍.

A beautiful stunning film with a simple story.
17 December 2022
Avatar: The Way of Water is a visually eye-popping film I've seen in a while. It is one of those movies to ACTUALLY experience on the big screen in 3D, like you're in another world. James Cameron has pushed the limits of technology in cinema once again to seek his vision. There is a lot more action in this movie than the previous film, a lot of new characters introduced, and a lot of BLUE in this film. The story is very simple, more cliche- like, which I was a little disappointed by hoping we get something more original. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the movie for what it is. One thing that frustrated me was this human character that can't decide what side he's on and it goes on like for the whole movie. Hopefully Cameron do better with his character in the next film, but other than that, I give this movie a watch if you're into the same stories you heard before looking drop dead gorgeous.

God of War Ragnarök (2022 Video Game)
8/10
Incredible story and gameplay with minor issues.
7 December 2022
God of War (2018) left a huge impact not only the game series, but the video games as a whole. The shift direction of bringing something new to God of War was a risk to take, and successful one at that. Now, we come to the next sequel of the Norse era getting the taste of Ragnarok and how our lovable characters handle their next adventure.

Pros: I love the dynamic of father and son with Kratos and Arteus grow in this game and their relationship. Thor was really a threating matter and was the biggest hype boss fight of the game. We do get to see new realms and characters as we go on and the side quests makes it feels like it's part of the main story. The gameplay had some new elements to them to make the experience newer and fast-paced. There was a lot to unpacked from this game since this is the end of the Norse mythology for the series, setting up for what God of War will be like in the future.

Cons: I really enjoyed the story for God of War: Ragnarok and its long length, but there was something in the story that just dragged on a bit too long and felt a bit unnecessary, which cause it to be boring sometimes. I love the introduction of new characters in this game, and they are very well-acted, but the choice for voice acting was very questionable and I do wish they would tone down the humor and profanity a little bit in this game (the game does drop a lot of F-bombs which I don't mind, but calm it down, but that's just me). Last but not least: the bugs. The last game had some bugs, but it was barely noticeable where in this game you can tell. I sometimes don't mind bugs in video games, but it can take out the experience during good moments.

Overall, It's a brilliant follow-up game with a different experience than the 2018 game. To be honest, this game is Game of the Year worthy but if you asked me which God of War Norse era game I would play, I would pick 2018 over Ragnarok.

Fine film, but the first movie was better.
15 November 2022
Before I give my review of this movie, I have some things to say.: I disagreed about the continuation of this film without recasting the character, T'challa/Black Panther due to the sudden passing of Chadwick Boseman. Chadwick's death hit hard on everybody, but I still want to see the character's story and journey in the MCU, but I guess the studio see that Chadwick is irreplaceable, which is understandable, but I also think they should wait awhile to start production of this film. Ever since Phase 4 started, it has been overall mediocre to begin with. The only acceptable of good out of this phase was Spider-Man: No Way Home and Shang-Chi. The rest of the movies and Disney shows have potential with good moments in them, but it all falls flat with its writing, direction, and some weird agenda they have going on. Because of this, BP: Wakanda Forever will be my last MCU film. After Endgame ended, things haven't been the same. Now, my review.

I enjoyed the tribute for Chadwick at the beginning of the movie and Shuri was up next to the throne of Wakanda. After that, it became slow-paced film. There were some good jokes in there, but I wish they could tone it down a bit from one character. I don't like how they dumb down Shuri's character being how she's supposably a smart character into what she is in the film. The editing of this film is a bit weird and the final fight scene was over the place. Namor was a good antagonist, but not as good as the other bad guy characters in the rest of the MCU. The movie was overall an average action superhero movie. I don't think it will be memorable as the first movie since the movie felt high spirited and the second film was just fine.

A masterpiece with a new take.
31 October 2022
I've never read the book, but I have watched the 1930 version of the film dozens of times. I love the story of that film and how much of a nightmare fuel it is. I was pretty excited to see the new take of All Quiet on the Western Front since it's actually German.

The cinematography is really stunning to look at with the beauty of the environment and chaos surrounding the soldiers. I like how the film make both sides of the war not wanting to continue the war and the emotions the soldiers go through other than Paul. This movie really hits the marks and show the true horror of WWI, make it look like it more real and... disturbing. This is my movie of the year.

Doing Hard Time (2004 Video)

Good idea with too many flaws.
30 October 2022
I literally have to see who directed this movie because the way how this movie was presented makes me think it's a debuted film. I like the idea of the dad going to prison to get revenge on a man who killed his son, but the way the movie was written and executed was terrible. You can easily see the mistakes in this film and the whole movie is just boring from start to finish. I'll say the only positive in this film is Michael Kenneth Williams's performance in this film. I was surprised to see Giancarlo Esposito in this film but was barely in it. It's a boring prison movie trying too hard. That's all I have to say.

Average at best
9 July 2022
I expected more from this movie. Taika Waititi is a good director at making serious theme matter with comedic acts to it. Even if act plays it off funny, the context is rather sad or depressed, which is why I like Thor: Ragnarok and Jojo Rabbit. However, this movie did not land on its subject matter and takes jokes as the main focus. There are some enjoyable moments of the movie, but it sometimes felt forced and not engaging. Ragnarok, Infinity War, and Endgame was a great switch around for Thor, but this movie dumb down this character and now just embrace him as a joke. I seriously believe this is the movie that's going to hurt the MCU. It's an enjoyable film but nothing to experience again.

Morbius (2022)

Lame.
16 April 2022
You have to know at this point, Sony just out here wanting to make money instead of making a actual good movie. I knew this movie wasn't going to be good to begin with after seeing the trailer and the delays. It was rushed, the plot was so... lame, and the end credit scene was so dumb. Everything about this movie was dumb. I never liked the fact that Sony turning Venom and Morbius into PG-13 movies just so they can become part of the MCU instead of making their own cinematic universe. These movies would be ATLEAST be enjoyable if it was rated R, but no, PG-13 provides more money. This movie was way worst than Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Those movies atleast has couple of enjoyable scenes than Morbius.

I'm going to keep the review short. Is it enjoyable film? Yes. Is it better than the previous movies? No, not really. I feel like this was shifting point to change what Shrek is and it just didn't work.

Argo (2012)

Highly intense.
22 March 2022
First time viewing the movie, I find it boring to watch. I couldn't get through the movie, and I didn't understand how this was an Oscar-worthy movie. Years later, today, I decided to give the movie another shot and watched it all the way through, and I got to say that I love being proved wrong. Ben Affleck really pulled this off, too bad he was robbed of Best Director. It has great acting, great shots, and the editing helped made the film show tense situation that are heart-stopping. I fully enjoyed this movie and I want to see more films like this.

Better than the original IMO
18 March 2022
I love the 1961 version of West Side Story with its eye bursting colors, the stunning cinematography, and its adaptation of Romeo and Juliet story. I don't like remakes of all time classic movies, but with a right director with a good reputation can make up for it. Steven Spielberg's West Side Story feels more grounded and real along with its musical scores. The 1961 musical songs didn't seem all memorable to me, but the 2021 use the same songs and made it work. This was a spectacular film Steven Spielberg has made in awhile and I can't stop watching it.

Like a noir detective movie
5 March 2022
All I have to say is WOW! What a movie. This doesn't even feel like a superhero film, this is straight up a crime/thriller film with Batman in it. I love how gothic and neon Gotham look with its dirty edgy atmosphere. The cinematography, the acting, the glorious music score was fantastic. This is up there with The Dark Knight and now my second favorite Batman film.

Five Nights at Freddy's 3 (2015 Video Game)
7/10
Creepy atmosphere with decent gameplay.
13 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
FNAF has always been point-and-click game while adding new mechanics to make the game more difficult but understanding. How this game play out is...surprisingly easy, which sucks. You only have one animatronic to worry about, while the rest are just illusions to distract you through the game. I can what Scott is going for in this game, but once you figure out the system, it doesn't seem that hard to beat the game. Each night are minigames to explain more story to the FNAF universe, which I love. Show don't tell. The atmosphere in the game is full of dread. I don't mind the color choice for this game because it reminds me of SAW. One thing I hate about the game is the camera. I get that making Springtrap blending in dark areas is a clever way to not see him while he's coming throughs you, but the camera statics is making it hard to see anything at some points and it's annoying. Anyway, this is nowhere bad as anyone makes it out to be, but it is one of the weakest games in the series.

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 (2014 Video Game)

More fun than scary.
13 February 2022
Thre's no doubt about that FNAF 2 is probably one of the best FNAF games in the series. It has more animatronics and new challenging to conquer, especially with no doors. This game does have hidden minigames to give in more depth of the FNAF lore, but it can only happen if you get a game over screen. As fun as this game is, the jumpscares does feel a bit repetitive. What I love about FNAF jumpscares is that it'll be unexpected if you're not careful, and this game does that too. However, when you keep seeing the same animations, it gets more frustrating rather than scare. I'm not gonna lie, I can see why this game was hyped and it came out the same year as the first game (CRAZY). I do personally enjoy this more than the first, but as the shock factor goes, the first game takes the cake.

Five Nights at Freddy's (2014 Video Game)

A New Type of Horror
12 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
What I love about horror games is that it forces the player to do something they don't want to do in order to progress the game. In every horror genre, you move around places to places to get to an objective while trying to avoid enemies and saving up your resources. In Five Nights at Freddy's, you're in one room through the entire game, trying to save up power while killer animatronics are after you, for 5 nights in a pizzeria. It is a claustrophobic point-and-click game filled with horror and mysteries that leaves questions, which would become the main theme of the series. The plot of the games is simple: You're a night guard taking night shifts at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza while you're being hunted by 4 animatronics: Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie the Bunny, Chica the Chicken, and Foxy the Pirate (you'll likely encounter Golden Freddy but it's rare). Your objective is to survive 5 nights (or 6 and 7 nights for bonus) without getting stuffed in an animatronic suit. The story in the series is a bit complicated to understand, but even then, it's a fun game to try out.

Bringing the wrestling magic back!
12 February 2022
I'm no WCW guy but can see why this show is compared to WCW alot and it's probably due to its looks and how a bit campy it is. With that said, AEW has brought me back into wrestling.

I gotten into AEW after discovering some clips of it on YouTube. There were familiar faces and new wrestlers I have never heard of, but I like how incredible the product is. This seems like a show for every wrestling fan who wants the old school, attitude, or corny feel to it. The more I gotten into the show, the more I started learning about the wrestling world as a whole. The wrestlers, the promotions, the stories, and what goes on behind the scenes. Even though is hard to call AEW flawless, it's also hard to say it's bad too. I love everything what AEW is going for, so far, and I hope it continues doing well in the future. Some casual fans would disapprove AEW for not understanding what it is or how different it is to WWE. I'll say AEW takes time to get use to and it is worth it in the end the more you watch it.

WWE Raw (1993– )
6/10
Evolving Entertainment
11 February 2022
WWF/E RAW was created to build up storylines every Monday night and show what's going on "behind the scenes" with the wrestlers and managers for the next PPVs. Vince McMahon continues to improve his sport entertainment every decade for better or for worse. There is no doubt about that this has been one of the most American entertainments put on television. We have seen it's uprising in the mid 90s and what it has become now in this modern age, and it's due to how times has change and how the product change. RAW hasn't been doing well as it used to, and it is due to its poor booking decisions, bland storytelling, and misuse of talents. Monday Night RAW still can be enjoyable to this day for some fans, but it won't be necessary be for everybody who watches it. In the end, it's a show and company that revolutionize the shape of wrestling of today with memorable moments and ideas, even if it is a mixed bag. Not many people will understand wrestling or why people enjoyed people getting hurt even if it is "fake." All that matters is that it's entertaining and fun to watch for most people.

Batman Begins (2005)
7/10
Nolan's underrated film
9 February 2022
I'll be honest, I didn't really like this movie when I first saw it because I was just a kid who cares about action over story.

In my teens, I decided to give Batman Begins another chance and I actually pretty much enjoyed it. This seems like a new origin story for our familiar hero, and I like how this film make it feel a bit modern and real. The cinematography is wonderfully shot, the story is a great new take to Batman, and although the action scenes seem cool the fight choregraph was hard to watch. Nolan has never been much of an action director but his does improve in later films.

This movie doesn't really get talk much because of Christopher Nolan's other phenomenal Batman movies and other films. Overall, it's a pretty good watch and a new "serious" take on the caped crusader.

Pretty...boring
27 December 2021
The movie is basically the modern version of The Matrix (1999) with no substance. Parts of the movie dragged on a bit to the point I fell asleep. Never in my life that I've been to the movie cinema that put me to sleep, and this movie did it for me.

I... actually enjoy this movie.
1 December 2021
I have watched this movie years ago before I read the book and I do enjoy the book WAY MORE than the movie itself. That said, I can't really hate on this movie. I do understand the hate for it for not being fateful to its source material and even I have to agree that there are things in the book I do wish to see in the film, but I actually enjoy this movie.

I'm a fan Greek mythology and that's something to enjoy in this film. The effects holds up nicely, the actions were awesome, and the acting is great for the actors they portray in. I do enjoy the story (despite its flaws), but I do enjoy the book even more.
