great film, what the hell are the negative critics on about???
15 February 2020
I just don't get it, why do they not review the film for what it is, its a kids film and yet still manages to be quite powerful with emotion, endearing, funny for all ages, jim carrey actually doing the magic he was always known for in the 90's.

its deliberately over the top, a bit silly but what do you expect. this a damn good film, the whole cast did a great job and the animation team did great. word is the team did a lot of hard work to make sonic the sonic we all know and love and after completion their studio was shut down, what an absolute shame, make this film a success so they bring those people back for a sequel.

solid movie if you unplug a little. (spoilers)
23 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
So yeh... its not better than the first 2 but the issue isnt that it wasnt exciting to watch. for me it was entertaining to watch, had some moments of warmth and humour, action was big and the fight was compelling and thats what i think a lot of us really want from a terminator movie, the enemy has to be feared, it has to be frighteningly powerful and appear unstoppable and they get that right here with the REV 9, its a dangerous machine our ''hero'' characters must run from.

anyway, the issue is it still lacked some of the horror we were hoping for, especially as it attempted to take a darker route it simply isnt dark enough, it is absolutely still aimed at the slightly younger than adult audience, it only really earns its R (15) rating from a bit of bad language and a little blood, nothing comes close to the brutality of arnold ripping out a heart at the start of T1 or even the punching through the chest scene in T3. as a fan of the franchise this was an issue for me because there has to be an element of brutality to the ''evil'' terminator. gabriel luna did a great job, i think he played it spot on but given a bit more freedom to really do some visual damage would have gone a long way.

my other couple of issues are - the CGI is a little weak at times, and absolutely fantastic at other times, (spoiler - already spoiled) theres a scene at the start of the movie of john conner as a child and sarah conner in her younger years and well sarah looks pretty spot on but john is wayyy off, its not close at all, also arnold is here blasting him away and well, he looks like an actual artificial robot, he wouldnt pass as human very long looking like that for sure. At other times in the movie the CGI is just mind blowing, theres a scene near the end of the movie when arnold is pretty shredded up, metal all exposed and the lighting and reflection off the metal work is the best in the series by far, its really unbalanced like that and kind of offputting.

one last complaint, its a bit of a biggy (and a spoiler again), the REV 9 gets its hands around the neck our new savious of mankind and well.... this is a huge no no, never put the enemy terminator and most fragile hero character in contact like that unless the hero is going to die, she survives and that just should not happen, i said this to the wife when leaving the movie and she said ''well the rev 9 was pretty banged up and clearly weaker at that point''.... this is a fair statement but we are talking about a machine here with hydraulic pressure in its mechanisms enough to crush human bones in one squeeze, it just does not sit right with me she can survive that encounter and simply makes the rev 9 less believable as an unstoppable killing machine.

despite all the negatives i really quite enjoyed it, i think the performances were solid, the action was relentless if a little CG heavy and i didnt feel too let down, part of the issue i feel is we are moving into 2020 and CGI is getting so good its the natural thing to use these days but we are also too smart as humans and can pretty easily spot it and that breaks immersion.

i think some of the hardcore terminator fans are going to curse on this film because it breaks away from the traditional lore of the franchise but it worked out ok i feel, unplug from your feelings towards the first 2 movies and its a fun flick, but they could have made it a lot stronger and hard hitting with that R.

Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection (2005 Video Game)
10/10
tekken back at its best
16 September 2006
personally its been a while since I've played a tekken game or any fighting game for that matter until recently i played dead or alive 4 on the xbox 360,yes that was a great game, then i recently purchased tekken dark resurrection for my psp now I'm going to compare these games and one reason for this is to show exactly how good this new tekken is even compared to massive multi million dollar projects such as doa4,now dead or alive 4 contains no real storyline whereas tekken has a storyline for every character in the game of which there's almost every character from the tekken franchise 34 in all.for a psp game this is frankly amazing because one of the reasons psp hasn't been as successful as expected is because it has to cut things out of games that appear on other platforms, this being another reason tekken is great nothing is cut its all here and whats here is brilliant fighting, great passion in the genre, there's no multi tier arenas, although there's is slightly destructible ones, but this is yet another reason tekken succeeds, this reason being there's no fancy things namco tried with this game, its good old tekken all over again,I'm not gonna go on and on about this game because all I'm gonna say is good things about it because if this was a xbox fighter it would be one of the best there is,great story mode and great arcade modes, and gosh don't get me started with the dojo mode thats just the next level for fighters an the fact this has hit the psp is amazing and easily the best fighting game for the platform, even the graphics and presentation is top notch, from the awesome opening movie to the endings of every characters story, all are well done and short and snappy, there's nothing i can think of in the near future that will knock this title out, tekken is back, and back at its best, well well worth buying even over other mainstream top console fighting games, don't just listen to me please buy it and find out for yourself.

wow fantastic
2 October 2005
I've never seen a film that is as well made as this its clever, exciting and certainly makes the viewer think an when u understand its so so rewarding an to me it shocked and amazed me to see how well a film like this made me think and it really is exciting, violent but not overly done an shocking, dark and dull but it all makes sense why when the film comes to a conclusion an absolute must watch my favourite film of all time due to I've never had a film that made me forget everything else and think,a film that can be watched over and over again and is rewarding every time in fact I'm probably watching it as u read this,u should be doing the same worth every minute of filming.
