Some scenes are just enough
14 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
1. The very first song. An ultimate travel song.

But from the portrayed character of Mohan, it is highly unlikely that he would actually offer a lift to a wandering homeless looking hitch-hiker.

2. When Mohan lies down in the field at Haridas' place looking up at moon. This is the place where Mohan's life is turned. The real movie starts from here ( although it's more than half way through).

3. When Mohan is sitting among other fellow passengers in the boat while they cross the river (also one poster picture). His facial expressions reflect his thoughts and the turmoil he experiences from witnessing something he has never ever thought of.

4. The most important scene in the whole movie, Mohan sharing a window seat of a crowded train with Mela Ram and he buy a glass if water from a boy at Ajite railway station. This is the very first time (almost near to 2hrs of movie run time) that Mohan is seen to drink a glass of water, rather than his bottled water. It is at this time, the movie shows how Mohan starts to transform into a Swadesi from a Videsi. He has even mentioned "you Indians" as if he was not feeling like one.

5. The Dussehra festival - the most important lesson to be learned from the movie. Mohan respectfully explains how India (Indians) always clutches onto the favorite "refuge" of "culture and tradition" while comparing the nations progress with Western countries.

6. After the Ram song. Mohan compares how people of the village are accustomed and adapted to living in the "darkness" of poverty, religion and the caste system.

7. The gift Gita gives to Mohan. A wooden box containing a myriad of items ranging from produces from the land, flowers, rocks and things that represent India.

8. The song "Yeh Jo Des Hai Tera". A. R. Rahman and Javed Akhtar has done a brilliant job.

Not worth 4 hours
6 November 2023
The time period is just amazing, French streets abd architecture. The cast is not apt. Their acting is not the required. One would at least expect an accent or slang of French and German people, and not American english. There is too much drama involved. A lot of time is wasted in the series. The main character lack acting lessons or genuinity in herself. The younger version of the character is way better than anyone else who has acted. Though I have not read the book, I can assure you that it would be way more better to read than to watch this. There are scenes that just don't go with a series like this. You expect more but all you get is something that just disappoints you.

A dull brainless story and direction
3 March 2023
Forget a logical story, it's just a some slow-witted story without any interesting visuals or acting skills. The dubbing is of course the most imbellic part. Acting skills of most of the actors are far less than mediocre. The story is directed in such a way that every small details are explained clearly enough that any brainless person is abke to understand it. The story lines doesn't match up at a lot of cases and they simply just doesn't add up. It starts with two investigative story lines parallely occurring and then at a certain point the whole scenes are completely new and they try to bring it up to a meeting point vaguely.

Eccentric with a childish touch
10 February 2023
Yes, I completed the whole series in just a single day. It is really moving and emotional. It gives you the motivation for life through characterization of teenagers. There is misery, traumatic experiences, grief, sadness, love and all the struggles life brings onto a living being trying to survive out int the open. It portrays how an aspiring pianist (quite young) on how to achieve success at a personal and a generic level.

Although it may seem that the protagonists are too young, the creators have portrayed them as adults, as I could understand. There are some situations which I do not think a teenager (14) could grasp and face with.

Amazing camera but not the best bgm
15 October 2022
As someone who enjoys nature documentaries, this one is amazing as it is focused on something new and concentrated only on to one single island. The 3 parts showing 3 different seasons is a fantastic visual watch. But it would have much better to show the fourth season too.

The narration is quite good but anthropomorphizing the animals makes it like a series rather than a documentary. Though the narrator explains and points out facts and ecosystem cycling, the background music rather gives it a cinematic mood and I'm a bit sceptic on whether that is on a bright side or not. I also do feel that some music notes especially adjourning the grieving and cheerless events, could have been avoided or changed to a better slow monotone. Naming the Marmots were ok as they were grown in captivity but the wild ones, I think it was quite unnecessary.

A different view
27 May 2021
The most interesting part about the movie is the talent and perspectives of the cameraman and the director. There happens to be a portrayal of nature specifically that of various animal species through different artistic views. To mention, the two main dogs, who are also important characters in the movie, then hares, species of the lizard family including an iguana or a gecko, the busy ants, and other bugs. The artistic camera views could be found in many other psychological thrillers but adding a bits and pieces of common animals found in a natural environment is something new for me.

I do not say much of the movie itself, but the fight scene seems to be too long which makes it a bit of boring in the end and also the end is quite obscure.

  • The main character, Shaji, had an axe cut wound on his right chest and in a scene after that, where he crawls himself out from a pond, his chest is visible as the shirt is unbuttoned but the wound is not to be seen, and then seen in later scenes.

Not at all worth it - esp the show presenters
1 April 2020
I was expecting to get a good take away message and to learn some human skills. But the series, as per Season 1, is total disaster. There are some interesting social experiments done and telecast and the way some of them done are quite fascinating, but the majority of them are just a waste of your time being spent watching it. Some of the experiments, you know the answer a;ready by yourself but it is always good to be proved. The thing what made me lose my interest are the three main cast who are the show presenters. I still don't know why they wear a lab coat all the time, if it were to differentiate themselves from the samples (humans), then they could have worn a different color dress are the samples are all black. I also do appreciate the way they treat their samples which are humans, they make even the elderly people (60+) to wake in lines crossing each other just for showing the viewers are creative display.

Suspense twist
8 July 2018
The movie is really scientific and logical. And in the end, kinda making a suspense twist. It is one movie that doesn't have a "happy ending".
