CSI: Vegas: Dying Words (2023)
Season 2, Episode 21
6/10
The writing on this seemed really generic.
20 May 2023
Look, I like this show and almost all the cast as well, but can anyone really say they didn't see this coming from a mile away with out even using forensics. This entire episode was basically been there seen that. I'm hoping they can get a really good guest star for the next season. And; episodes won't feel clunky and dare I say AI driven teleplays. I am also hoping they will actually utilize their big guest star more than they did with Cathryn's story line this year. They better punch it up, or they will get the ax after season 3 like so many other shows have in the past several years. Come on stop using the cookie cutters!!!

The best teen show since PLL OG bar none!!!
10 May 2023
The best high school show since the original Pretty Little Liars!! This is how you do a show and give it an ending most will never see coming. Including myself and I'm usually way ahead. Great diverse cast, but with no preachiness. These writers definitely deserve a raise!!!! Great mystery with lots of twist and turns. Excellent casting and excellent acting!! I really hope Paramount sees enough to give this a second season. I'm finding fewer and fewer new shows that just want to entertain and this is definitely one of them. Please bring this one back, and do not change the players behind the scenes in other words do not screw up season 2!!!

What the heck.

Why was there never any mention of dna testing in Scotland. Everything was all about the tattoos. I would think DNA would trump tattoos. One of the worst episodes I've ever seen!!! Bloated and overdone complete silliness. Do they really think their audience is this stupid? Don't really have anything else to add. Just counting down characters now. What happened to this show it use to be considered hard hitting journalism. I guess they've run out of murders to fit agendas.

Seasons one through four excellent, 5 not so much.
12 January 2023
We truly loved seasons one through four, but found season five to be lackluster. They should of just stopped after season four. Season five: lackluster cast, lackluster storyline, lackluster production, you name it just lackluster. We weren't going to even watch after the first episode, but we soldiered through. Although; we like the actor who played King Charles he was not right for this part. We really had a major disconnect with the actress playing Princess Diana and that's about as nice as we can put it. In fact to be honest we also did not care for the way they portrayed princess Diana as: cold, and lacking in intelligence. The world loved Princess Diana, funny how they've forgotten this in season five. We wonder if it's because of who is actually king now. We assume there might be some brown nosing going on. Don't believe we will be watching season six. Thank you for reading this review we hope you liked it.

Skip the first hour and you have a 6 at best
24 December 2022
The powers that be really ruined this film. The first hour is nothing but agendas. Becomes a bit of fun after the first hour, and you get pale shades of the original, still; you will have to throw all plausibility out the window. Unfortunately, the whole time I was watching this I couldn't escape the thought that this script is really beneath: Hudson, Craig, and Janelle. As much as it pains me to say it because I'm really, really, really not a fan, but this monstrosity could of really used Jamie Leigh Curtis. I don't know does no one know how to right a script anymore unless there's a super hero involved?

Yeah, it's okay, and people are gripping about silly things.
19 April 2022
Well, let's get this out of the way first comparing this to Yellowstone is like comparing The Three Little Pigs to The Company of Wolves. Yellowstone is filmed on location at a real ranch in Montana, (and some in Utah), and has excellent cinematography. This is filmed in New Mexico and California albeit meant to be Wyoming, and has decent cinematography. I would compare it more to Lost and Supernatural set within its own western confines. Yes, some scenes are dark, but I grew up on a working farm most folks keep the lights to a minimum to keep the electric bill down. Are some scenes a little dark to see, yip so turn the lights off except for those that backlight your viewing apparatus. Trust me it's not near as bad as any low budget horror film from the last decade. As for my assessment of entertainment value I'd say it's worth a shot. Do I need to see the remaining episodes as soon as they drop not really, but it'll do as a back up when I feel like a dose of something a bit weird. The old folks acting is just fine the jury is still out on the young newbies. Solid 6 1/2 so far. Might just surprise me and get better, but the signing nude cowboy well let's just say he ain't no Log Lady.

Not near as good as good as the OG
6 April 2022
Only based on episode one. I will update, since I think it is worth sticking it out. I was a fan of the original, but so far I think they have made it too easy having the stores on site, and the budgets are gone. What made the original show fun was seeing the designers forced to stick with a budget, and going to places like the dollar stores, thrift markets, and using repurposed items in order not to go over budget on their assignments. Also; the new judges have not impressed me much hopefully that'll get better. One good thing I enjoyed was the new spaces each designer gets, they did improve on those. Give it a try if design is your thing, you might enjoy episode 1 more then I did. If you're offended by alternative life styles (I'm not, but that make up job on Miss what's her name atrocious), then you should skip it. This is definitely made for the "Next Generation". I'm just in hopes they'll get serious now.

Drop the politics and the name dropping,
21 January 2022
Drop politics and the names, and you might just have something here. Cast is above your average ensemble, and there are some good jokes, but I want to laugh and enjoy the funny antics. I'm not watching to be schooled, in either direction so that parts a turn off. Also; would like to see the women get together more.

Ruined only by one of the most atrocious musical scores I have ever heard.
3 January 2022
Ruined only by one of the most atrocious musical scores I have ever had the misfortune of hearing. They should of used test audiences first because I'd be willing to bet 9 out of 10 would of gave a thumbs down to the music. Kristen Stewart is the one shining force in this film. Actually all the acting was top notch. The actors should come together and sue the musical director, either that or have them thrown to the wolves lol.

Loose the cheesy hosts, and my score would go up!
6 December 2021
Unfortunately the hosts for this show are really bringing it down. The contestants are fun. All the holidays are included via what the pairs choose, so there's a little non offensive something for everyone. The grannies rock!! In fact they make the show.

Ruined it with season 8
11 October 2021
I would of been all for some versatility, but they went way too far out there. I kind of watch this show in the back ground mainly just to see some beautiful scenery, so to be nice I'll just say Hawaii is still beautiful can't really say that about anything else though. Not for me at all and I'm pretty sure I won't be the only one that feels this way.

It's been a long time since one of these "true crime docs" really got under my skin. This one did definitely not for the faint of heart. Just felt really sad for the family and friends who were affected by this evil. I did think the Psychology student was playing with fire.

This was truly wonderful for me based only on the pilot.
9 October 2021
I rarely, if ever give a pilot a perfect score of ten. Coming from a mostly white middle aged man. It made me laugh it made me cry. Now, this right here is how you do a show with political over tones. Oh and those street lights were universal it didn't matter what the tone of your skin was. And; the music bravo!!!

10 stars for getting rid of dead weight.
30 September 2021
No spoilers here, I'll just say there are those who can't act, so their replacements are already a cut above. And I really don't think the politics went to far for this show and I'm somewhat of a conservative. Only thing I need to see now is for them to stop tying it into Chris's show because I'm really not a fan of that one. And PLEASE STOP MAKING THE MIDDLE AGED WHITE GUY THE BAD GUY, it makes the show way to predictable.

A great swan song for Eastwood and his fans.
26 September 2021
I wanted to see this because I grew up watching Eastwood films. The man is 91, kudos for him doing anything. It's a sweet slow moving little film. His fans will appreciate it, as will anyone over 50. It wasn't made for the ADHD crowd so I really don't get why they are reviewing it unless they are wanna be film critics. For me it's a solid 8.

Survivor: A New Era (2021)

Come on in unicorns
24 September 2021
Come on in unicorns.

I'm giving it a 6, but two of those points are for the crew responsible for the cinematography, and of course the locale of gorgeous Fiji.

Oh man if it ain't broke why fix it? Survivor has always had a diverse cast since season one, and a diverse group of winners throughout the seasons, so really no reason for them to slap us in the face with it now. Also, like another reviewer brought up Jeff looks really rough this season. I mean it was raining in his opening scene so maybe the rain was washing away his filler and the soft focus was being damaged as well. I just hope the guy is okay health wise. My two biggest complaints,( after getting the unicorn nonsense out of the way), is one this episode could of been cut to a regular 45 min episode just by cutting all the sobbing back stories, I mean what is this the new American idol? Two, all these new game play additions are really muddled. Last but not least am I the only guy who noticed the bikinis are gone. And keeping it in tune with our new woke world the guys leave a lot to be desired too. When it comes to eye candy it's pretty much been erased for everyone, Just saying.

Just now finding out the unicorn is an actor kind of puts a nail in the coffin that this show is totally gone the way of other reality shows, in a word contrived.

Better than Horizon Line. A little bit Jaws, a little bit Lifeboat...
11 September 2021
Better than Horizon Line. A little bit Jaws, a little bit Lifeboat... ...A little bit 5 little Indians. Really not bad at all if you like shark movies. Actors won't win any awards with this one, but a diverse cast and some good eye candy for everyone. Most of the movie takes place on the surface at night so not a lot of gore just your typical top side attacks, and a few free diving moments. But The suspense is there if you're capable of just going with it. Smaller budget than say Open Water 2, yet they managed to pull it off quite nicely in my opinion. I caught it for $3.99 SD from AP and I was not disappointed using that price value, but I wouldn't go any higher. Just keep in mind as I mentioned I'm a sucker for shark movies, but I think it's a pretty good movie to watch late on a Friday night with your buddies. Just don't expect big budget CGI, compared to The Shallows, or 47 Meters Down, nor do they throw in the comedic wise cracks like The Meg. If I had to fault it, and I really don't want to, I'd say the underwater scenes are not of the highest caliber, and again the cast gives a slightly above average acting performance with some performing better than others. Will I purchase the Blu-Ray in the future, yes when it's been out long enough to get the lowest price. (Sorry hyperbole gore lovers you will be disappointed). Solid 6 1/2 for me so I rounded up to 7. Just feel some people are being to hard on it for what it is. Imho a pretty solid second feature.

Not that bad mainly for the die hard fans.
22 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Really a solid 6 1/2, but I gave it an 8 to offset the ridiculous ones. By now if you don't know what to expect from Murphy then your watching the wrong shows!! Never perfect, but always creative. Personally I don't think he will ever top Asylum, or the original one with the witches. The rest is all fodder for the production companies. If you're planning on watching Double Feature, might be best if you lower your expectations and enjoy whatever shinning moments come along.

Okay slight spoilers below........................ ....................... ..................//.

--------/////////------- Sorry Ryan, brick don't burn. But I can see why you wanted to put it to bed. Enjoyed all the Halloween and horror in jokes. I don't think it's the best in the Anthology, but it's season one. Hope this means we can see some originality in season 2. I wouldn't mind seeing another witch, or Asylum episode. Wondering if the that new teaser gal was chosen because she resembles, (at least to me), Shannon Daugherty? Well, all said and done I'll be looking forward to the next time you can creep me out.

HO, HO, HO INSTA'S be gone
31 July 2021
Spot on when it shines a bright mirror on a certain type of folk. Really just about a generous 7, due to a week script, but boy did I enjoy everyone's satirical holiday endings!!! My guess, the really low scores are coming from those who really don't have a clue. Yes, bro's and sisters eventually you gotta get a real job, LoL. A sequel could really flush this out. It's like you know, like when everyone says "oh I didn't like any character in the movie, so like who cares like who gets it" to the ninth power. Enjoy the show.

12 July 2021
Well, they had to go and ruin a perfectly good show with politics. This is where I get off thank you very much for one good season. I won't be playing anymore elevator games anytime soon, even if they have already been green lit for a third season. When will these people learn we watch these shows for entertainment not to be preached to. I wanted jump scares and thrills not politics and snooze fest. Too bad they had a really good cast.

5 July 2021
No spoilers, just disappointed that with episode 3 of season 2 I can see it's headed in the wrong direction for true horror fans. Sadly it's loosing its bite. Mainly because politics are raising their ugly head. Don't really care to hear arguments over religions much rather just be creeped out and have a good ride like last season.

4 episodes in and I'm having a tough time sticking with this.
5 June 2021
I wish I could give this a higher score. I was really looking forward to this coming with C. M. And the Stabler character, but it's not the Stabler I remember. And what lazy writing when the writers have him blurt out what he says to Olivia. I mean didn't we already see that eons ago, when a character uses those words and then finds away to take it back? I'm in hopes this show is lacking because of all the shut downs and delays due to well you know 2020. My honest opinion this show needs a major retooling for season 2. Complete with a new show runner, and some casting changes. And; like another reviewer mentioned "do the writers think we're so dumb that we don't notice the changes with the kids". Also; I actually like D. M. As a mob boss I just don't buy it. Not even if he was to stick a few marbles in his mouth and mumble his lines, LOL.

Sasquatch (2021)
6/10
Basically bait and switch, but not bad for what it is. Still; disappointing for Bigfoot fans.
21 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Don't expect the charm of Missing 411, or even that of the 76' narrative film for that matter. Instead expect a decent low budget documentary about drug growers and thugs through the decades in the California mountains. I don't really think that will give away to much for you to enjoy it for what it is. Unfortunately, for Sasquatch and fans like myself, it sheds no new light on those mysteries. You will learn nothing new here about the big "hairy man". He barely makes a cameo. Wish the film makers and, or producers could of been a little more up front with their audience from the git go. Also; felt the location footage could of been a bit more utilized as well, guess they couldn't afford a drone.

Stargate X Lost + X-Files.
6 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
(Very light spoilers/hints ahead. ) I liked it. Pilots are never promising in and of themselves, but I see a lot of promise here. So far I'd say decent sci-fi beginning if you can over look some questionable investigative techniques here and there. I'd say there were definitely shades of the X-Files pilot, with a bit of Lost type mysteries to boot. The sappy human interest story I could of done without, but I wouldn't rule it out just for that bit. I'm curious to see where it goes which is really saying something for this extended television season where the majority of new and returning shows have been a hard no for me. At least this one peaked my interest. Not really a thinking persons sci-fi, or an original show yet, but it has the means to be just interesting enough to keep one entertained. Of course we're always at the mercy of the writer's. I wouldn't expect any lone gunmen any time soon, but an alien portal wouldn't surprise me at all. Especially after that parting scene.
