Overboard (2018)
10/10
It didn't need to be made but I don't care!
6 May 2018
Overboard was great! It was charming, it had tons of clever humor, and a very sweet story. Anna Faris shines as the main star and Eugenio Derbez is sooooooooooooooooooooo watchable. Check out Overboard when you have the chance, it is great stuff!

An A+ for sure or on iMDB, 10/10!

The Week Of (2018)
8/10
Really surprising
28 April 2018
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this film. With a surprising amount of heart, The Week Of blends in some truly heartfelt performances with a very funny script. I had myself quite a few chuckles throughout the duration of the movie.

There's also a story. We haven't seen that in an Adam Sandler film for a while.

I'm giving this one an A- or an 8/10 on IMDb

I Feel Pretty (2018)
3/10
Yeah, no.
27 April 2018
At this point, what do I even have to say? I Feel Pretty is a stupid, generic comedy that as one good thing: Amy Schumer. Other than that, its dumb and horrendously acted with an okay script.

D or on iMDB, a 3/10

Mixed feelings about this one....
27 April 2018
I guess you can view Super Troopers 2 two ways:

On one hand, it's a sharp, witty, fine film to watch if you're at a party with a huge group of friends.

On the other, it's a bland, stale movie that really offers nothing new and is virtually the same film as its predessecor.

Me myself, I didn't mind it that much. I sat there in the theatre with my popcorn and my M n' Ms thinking that it was at least better than Blockers and Game Night.

I'm giving this one a B or on iMDB, a 7/10.

Rampage (2018)
RAMPAGE (MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD)
15 April 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I legitimately, with all my heart, think this is the worst videogame adaptation. It does NOTHING right. Maybe it's because I had mediocre expectations going in that I hated it so much.

The movie's so bad I'm not even gonna give it a rating. The performances are laughable, The CGI is terrible(especially the villain's death), even the motion capture sucks!

Go see A Quiet Place again, go see Truth or Dare or even better, stay home and watch Lost in Space. Much better quality than this.

I'm not gonna give Rampage a rating because I legitimately believe it's not a complete movie. This movie should dig itself a hole and stay there FOREVER!

An underrated gem
15 April 2018
You know, call me crazy, but I didn't think this film was half bad.

Of course it's predictable. Of course it's cheesy, But underneath that all is a great story, great characters to latch onto, and some surprisingly funny. Luckily Mankene wasn't in the movie too much.

I'm gonna have to give it a B or on an Imdb scale, a 7/10. Fun family entertainment.

A Quiet Place (2018)
10/10
Great stuff!(spoilers)
10 April 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Let's start off by saying the direction carries this movie. It moves the movie at a brisk pace while also having time to chill(mostly in the first thirty minutes). And when the whole plot of the movie kicks in, it KICKS IN.

The acting is spectacular. Emily Blunt and John Krasinski give it their all and it sure shows, especially with Emily Blunt. In the disturbing scene where she has the baby in that bathtub is utter perfection. The kids are also masterful as well. There is also a heavy sense of emotion. I bawled in two different scenes. One was the opening scene where the young boy is killed off because his toy was too loud. The next is John Krasinski's death. His was so powerful and it had such an emotional affect on me that when I'm typing this, I want to see this again.

I'm giving A Quiet Place a full blown A+ or on Imdb, 10/10!

Blockers (2018)
5/10
Is it just me or does this film seem grotesquely overrated?
10 April 2018
Blockers is a film that I personally looking forward to a bunch. The trailers completely sold me on this idea of a hard R, raunchy comedy that was original, heartfelt, and delivered some dang good laughs too!

Unfortunately, all the stuff you heard that was funny in the trailer is either not funny because you've heard it all before or it's cut out of the movie entirely.

So don't see Blockers. It's a painfully unfunny crude-fest that delivers crap humor, no emotion, disney-channel acting, and a worthless story. The only good things about it are the three daughters and one of their dates.

Giving this one a generous C- or on Imdb, a 5/10

God it's great!(spoilers)
9 April 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Ready Player One is not only the best movie of the year so far, it's one of the best sci-fi movies of the decade.

Filled with outstanding references to countless movies and TV, Ready Player One never feels like it's overflowing with these references. It always feels contained and it never feels overflowing with these various video game and movie characters. I mean, there's actually a scene where they go into the Overlook Hotel and search around and it hits the various different beats from The Shining, but it's all very well realized.

There's also masterful acting on the surface a great story to balance it.

I'm also gonna give this one an A+ or on Imdb, 10/10!

What a show!(spoilers)
9 April 2018
Warning: Spoilers
So there's nothing that much to say regarding season 2 of a series of unfortunate events that hasn't been said already. It's fun, unexpected(when the librarian died, I started to cry,) meanwhile, delivering a crap-ton of heart and pure joy that every single member of your family will get something new out of.

I'm going with an A+ or a 10/10 on Imdb!

Pacific Rim Uprising is trash( Spoilers)
26 March 2018
Warning: Spoilers
So we have here a movie where Charlie Day is the villain and a fifteen-year old girl is able to pilot a giant mech. Now this is Pacific Rim and I would be okay with all of this if the movie had any story whatsoever. It's a bloated pile of nothingness about humans letting Kaiju into our world and the villain is Charlie Day. Wow, what a great premise.

Of course humans win. All they lose is a Jaegar and a younger pilot with zero character development. If only this movie was like the first Pacific Rim, a cheesefest action movie that knew what it was and had fun with it's concept. This film takes itself way too seriously and as a result, fails on every single level.

I'll give this one an F or on an Imdb scale, a 1/10. God, I wish there was a 0/10

Isle of Dogs (2018)

Isle Of Dogs belongs on Trash Island
26 March 2018
I'm so sorry to say this but Isle Of Dogs is a huge disappointment. It is a bloated movie that thinks it's much better than it is.

You know what earns this movie four points though? It's animation. Stunningly shot and perfect stop-motion.

Other than that it's shoddy Wes Anderson weird fest that has poor voice acting and a terrible script. Did I mention the best characters dissapear halfway through the movie? I'm not lying.

I'll give Isle Of Dogs a D or a 4/10on Imdb

You must not to have watched a movie for a while to enjoy the movie
18 March 2018
Seriously, another video game movie? I lost faith at Silent Hill, a movie which everyone seems to love but I hate.

Good acting, mediocre script, story, what the hell? A perfect average.

It probably is the best video game movie ever made though.

Tomb Raider will be getting a C or on an IMDb scale, a 5/10

Love, Simon (2018)
10/10
What an amazement!
18 March 2018
I have never been so impressed in my life. Love, Simon is what some people call a perfect movie. Let's get on into the positives:

  • Acting was superb. Jennifer Garner and the man who plays Simon's dad do excellent work. The friend is great. The bully is a figure to behold( the actor, not the actual character.) But it really is Nick Robinson's movie. his portrayal of Simon can go from sad to joyful to empathetic in the blink of an eye. Did I mention Tony Hale? One of the most underrated actors in hollywood.

-The story was awesome. It is a very realistic portrayal of what it is like to go through these events and the consequences surrounding it.

-Entertainment Value was probably the film's highlight. It is 109 minutes and it goes by like the flash.

Overall Love, Simon is a perfect movie. Highly recommend and hopefully it does well not just domestically, but overseas too.

An A+ for sure, or on an IMDb scale, 10/10!

Jessica Jones (2015–2019)

What the hell season 2??( so much spoilers for first few episodes)
17 March 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I loved the first season of Jessica Jones. It was smart, creative, and a helluv a lot of fun to watch. So I don't know what the creators were thinking but making Jessica a whiny, self-absorbed brat doesn't exactly help your show.

These Marvel Shows keep getting CHEAPER and CHEAPER. There's a shot in the second episode where Will Simpson( no crap, of course he's alive) is walkin towards Trish Walker. It's poorly lit, poorly acted and the whole scene builds to a conclusion that is practically pointless.

And that's this whole season. It's a bunch of muddled scenes that don't fit with one another and the conclusion is anything but satisfying.

Yeah, I'm giving this an F or on IMDb, a 1/10. God, I wish there was a 0/10

Same Old Disney Trash ( Spoilers)
17 March 2018
Warning: Spoilers
So A Wrinkle In Time is the exact same schmaltzy product Disney has been conjuring up for a while now. It's getting on my nerves and I'm hoping they can redeem themselves within the coming weeks.

The first act is great, the second act sucks, the third act is even worse.

Also this isn't really a sin on the movie but I have to talk about Charles Wallace. Deric McCabe isn't a very good actor and he slugs through the scene where Charles Wallace turns into a baddie.

Because of the first act's greatness, I'll give a Wrinkle in Time a C- or on an IMDb scale, a 5/10

Red Sparrow is GREAT!!!
2 March 2018
I've never disagreed with the critics more in my life! This movie rocked!

Just to let you know, if you do go see this movie,(which you should), It is a tough watch. There are some scenes that are very hard to watch because it's just that disturbing and because of the sexual nature of the scene.

The acting is phenomenal. Jennifer Lawrence gives her best performance to date and Joel Edgerton shines as always. The fight scenes were very well choreographed, Francis Lawrence is an amazing director like always. There were also some twists that I genuinely did not expect and a very satisfying payoff that will leave you in shock.

I am gonna give Red Sparrow an A+ or on an Imdb scale, a 10/10!

Death Wish (2018)
5/10
Original??
2 March 2018
So when I walked into one of the few advanced screenings for Death Wish, I thought three things: -It's a remake of a mediocre film starring Charles Bronson -It was pushed back from November 17 to March 2 -Bruce Willis is not a good actor So I walked into Death wish with my popcorn and my Sour Patch Kids as the movie unfolded. I wonder what happens next...

It actually had a pretty decent start. The dynamic between Bruce Willis and his family was sweet it was perfectly cheesy, as it has the right to be.

But as soon as the event happens, the movie divulges into a series of uninventive plots and unnecessarily gory action scenes. I knew walking in that the movie was rated R for strong bloody violence, but come on Eli Roth!!

It also has some of the worst acting you'll see this entire year and some of the corniest one-liners you'll hear this entire year!

Just stop. this is the same movie we have seen so many times before! Here are some examples: The Punisher(2004) Death Sentence The Punisher(2017) Death Wish(1974) So don't waste your money.

I'll give it this, Vincent D'Onofrio was alright.

I'll give Death Wish a D+ or on an Imdb sale, 5/10

Annihilation (I) (2018)

This Movie Annihilates
28 February 2018
I haven't seen a movie this thought-provoking and slow since I went to see Ex Machina back in 2015. The director of that film shows us once again why to love film. This film is what many people call a beautiful nightmare. I couldn't agree more. Let's talk about it.

From the opening shot alone, I knew that this was not going to be a typical sci-fi film. This film has a beautiful asthetic to it while also balancing realistic portrayals of characters.

In this movie, Natalie Portman and a group of scientists venture into the shimmer, a barrier that cuts off the outside world. Few people return after going into the shimmer, but when Natalie Portman's husband does, stuff goes wild and that's the only plot summary I will give you.

Request: Please don't leave this movie. Several of my audience members did and I felt it so disheartening to see that.

Please support Annihilation. It may not be the most rewatchable movie, but it is worth your time.

With stellar performances, visuals, a great story, and also some action...

I'll be giving Annihilation a perfect A+ or on an Imdb scale, 10/10!

Game Night (I) (2018)
3/10
Games suck
15 February 2018
I feel movies have been pretty good lately. Stuff like Early Man and Black Panther and I would go the length and say Maze Runner 3 have been on point. Then comes Game Night, the shabby low-brow February comedy that we get almost every year.

First came Hot Tub Time Machine 2, that movie sucked. Then How To Be Single, a horrendous pile of trash. Then we have the worst movie of last year, Fist Fight. Now here comes Game Night, a sucky, failed attempt at making people go to the movies.

There is but one thing I think is good in the movie. Actually no, two things since I feel generous. -Jesse Plemmens gives a charismatic performance as the fat guy in the group. -There was a joke towards the beginning of the movie that had me bawling with laughter. Now the flaws. There are a bunch.

These actors give fine performances, with the exception of Jesse Plemmens who is pretty decent. It's just that the script in which they were handed was so forced with the most blatant pop culture references I have seen in a while, movie, TV show, anything!

The movie has a really cool concept. does it deliver? no. All the movie comes down to is just a tired rip-off of many other films and a lazy cash cow that will probably make a lot of bucks. I will not be supporting that money.

I will give Game Night a generous D or on an Imdb scale, a 3

Black Panther (2018)

The Black Panther is back!
15 February 2018
First of all, let's start off by saying that I loved Black Panther. It was everything I wanted it to be and more.

The Pros are endless. The acting alone is worth notifying. Daniel Kaluuya, Andy Serkis, Letitia Wright, Martin Freeman, Forest Whitaker and Michael B. Jordan all do fantastic.

But it all really does come down to the performance of Chadwick Boseman as the Black Panther himself, doesn't it? I'l tell you what, he is stellar. His performance as T'challa is so subtle and so on point with the comics, which I'm a huge fan of.

Next up, the action scenes/directing. I could not be happier for Ryan Coogler right now, with this, Creed, and Fruitvale Station. I do have to say I was a bit dissapointed with the final fight, but that's mostly on the lighting team.

The story is great, the cast is great, the overall movie as a whole is great. I have but one flaw with it and this flaw could be considered a nitpick by many.

My flaw is that it does become the stereotypical marvel movie once in a while. There are certain character actions that wouldn't make sense in the actual tone that the movie presents us with, times where a character makes an unnecessary pun, and even an SUV chase towards the middle of the film.

I overall loved Black Panther. It has a very essential meaning to it that I personally think everyone will grasp hold of and also fun sequences that everyone will enjoy.

Black Panther gets an A or on an Imdb scale, a 9

Early Man (2018)

A fun little family flick
12 February 2018
Early Man is the perfect delight to go and see if you have children under the age of ten. Ten and over can go see Black Panther this coming weekend.

As for Early Man, it's a delight. It has fun humor, a great cast, fun action sequences, and an overall great heartfelt message that every viewer can love, no matter the age.

Some of the issues I have with Early Man is the impossible nature of comparing it to every other Aardman film. It just is not as good as The Shaun The Sheep movie.

With my one tiny issue aside, Early Man is a very fun family film that will unfortunately not do leaps and bounds at the box office due to Black Panther.

I would have to give Early Man a B+ or on an Imdb scale, a 7/10.

Awful
21 July 2017
This is by far the worst movie of 2017 so far.Nothing in this movie makes any sense. No spoilers, but the first scene and the last scene infuriated me.

The only remotely entertaining thing in this movie was if you saw it in IMAX.Otherwise, this movie is a mess and I hated every second of this movie. You might be saying that I just hate silly fun guilty pleasures and I'm not fun.Actually,I love those kinds of movies.

This just wasn't one of them.
