Having researched both sides of the issue, I can agree the one child policy had suffered from certain excesses that impinged on people's rights.

However, I completely disagree with the sensationalized nature of this "documentary" that frames the policy as a sinister plot for total control.

China versus India gives us the most illuminating case study.

Some 40 years ago, China curbed out of control population growth to avoid socioeconomic collapse. Today, China has lifted 800+ million people out of crushing poverty after a century and half of western invasions, wars, and destruction. It's people enjoy safe streets, full stomachs, clean drinking water, education, a growing economy, etc. Of course nothing is perfect and China has many problems to solve but this achievement is simply unprecedented in human history.

In contrast, India allowed out of control population growth and it is currently experiencing a socioeconomic crisis. Food and water shortages. Infrastructure is woefully underdeveloped. Much of the country lacks sanitation such proper toilets leading to the spread of disease.

The results speak for themselves.

Waste of time. Totally unrealistic yet boring. There is no plot. It's just a convoluted mess. Feel bad for the producers. Won't be seeing their investment back.

This was a terrible film for many reasons, but two stand out.

The dialog. It was horrible. I felt like it was written with crayons, but it's the lifeless delivery that buried this film. The performances were phoned in from space.

Now, what usually saves these sorts of films is action. However, the action very hard to see due to the filming style. The camera is very shaky and the scenes are not well lit so it looks like a head jarring earthquake the whole time.

Furthermore, Wahlberg is past his prime. It's time for him to retire, fire up the extra strength anti-histamine and spend time on his vegetable garden.

So, I came back from the theater with my girlfriend and I wanted to warn people against this turd.

I login to imdb and what do I see?

"10/10, best film evar!" "Better than Jurassic Park" "amazing. I re-wtached it with my extended family." "I ejaculated into my popcorn"

Shut the full cup. These are fake reviews along with vote manipulation from fake user accounts. This film was a boring 3/10 film at BEST.

Derivative characters, dumb plot, horrible cgi, the lead characters just phone in their performances.

The acting made my skin craw. The plot was stupid and patronizing - especially to Chinese audiences.

What makes the Chinese investors think Chinese audiences want to see Chinese men play inferior roles to a white man in China?

Who are the idiots burning their money to fund this trash?

I suppose the morons paying for this trash will keep burning their life savings until the lesson is learned.

boring bland characters tired clichéd plot why does this always happen? They just can't seem to get Asian cinema right? It's like they're trying to shoe horn incompatible and childish ideologies into these films.

It's just not for me. If you like exciting action, it's probably not for you either.

I watched this film and I was blown away. The production values, special effects, action sequences, and sound production were top notch. I saw no difference between this and America's best blockbuster action films as far as quality is concerned.

The characters were humorous, likable, and believable. The plot was simple and action scenes kept the pace enjoyable throughout.

So, why the low rating? I looked at the 150+ odd votes and I noticed there's a lot of racist trolls who manipulated the votes for this film.

A huge chunk of the votes were 1/10. This film is NOT a 1/10. That is a ludicrous score. Even Uwe Boll's films get 2-3 on average. So, those people who gave this film a 1/10 hate the film because it's made by China. It's racism. Plain and simple.

I hope IMDb will clean up the trash because I've noticed the same pattern at other Chinese films like Wolf Warrior 2.

Watch the film. You won't be disappointed, unless you're a jealous racist hater.

Yes, all the reviews are true. It is 2017 and this is shockingly racist. However, what makes this show the most unforgivable is how BORING it was.

It was truly coma inducing. I fell asleep three times during the first episode.

The characters were bland and cookie cutter.

The plot is ham-fisted.

The production values were terrible.

It's as if the BBC just gave up.

Why did the BBC fund this? No advertiser in their right mind would be associated with it.

Awful tripe. Just awful.
