Maurh (2023)

Trendsetter in Punjabi Cinema
14 June 2023
A new wave of cinema will start following this movie in Punjabi industry, impressive work by Director Jatinder Mauher & great initiative by the production house Rhythm Boys & Naad Studios. Movie is based on the true story of 19th century Rebel Jeona Maurh, who fought against the injustice, against Jagirdaars & British empire. Tells you the story of courage & pride. It was a good feeling to watch it on the big screen, Both lead actors Ammy Virk & Dev Kharoud were great in their roles, few other names impressed in their performance are Vikramjeet Virk (Dogar), Amiek Virk (Officer Hurton), Marc Randhawa (Chatra) & Kuljinder Sidhu (Jaimal) & many more. I would suggest if you haven't watched it yet, give it a go.

Light entertainer with masala & naughty jokes
1 June 2020
Main theme of the Coma patient & Old TV programmes is totally inspired from the German movie "Good Bye, Lenin" (2003). But the team added some masala jokes and made it a good entertainer. Manu Rishi Chadha is the best part of the story, Mahie Gill didn't get much chance.

Emotional, A Must See
18 February 2020
A wonderful movie which shows the emotions, hopes, struggle, up and downs of lower middle class Punjabi youth. The movie, the characters, the story & screenplay, the acting & direction all were wonderfully managed. It was an emotional experience to watch. Writer/director Jagdeep Sidhu must refrain from using double standard jokes in Punjabi Cinema & that scene of village man chasing Jeet's friend Bagga (Balwinder Bullet) was totally unnecessary. We don't expect this type of stuff in a good movie, apart from it i really enjoyed it. I would recommend it to watch if you want to try something different from the storm of comedy movies.

Good, Could have been better

I enjoyed it. As this series is based on fishing scam, they should have shown more about fishing and its outcome on poor victims for awareness.

9/10 Great movie

ETERNAL WINTER (Orok Tel) is the second war related Hungarian movie i watched after GLOOMY SUNDAY (1999). Both gave me tears after watching. Movie shows the true history, in 1944-45 approximately 700,000 Hungarian men & women were taken to forced labour by the orders of Stalin, 300,000 of them never returned home. A MUST WATCH

4/10 Below average
3 January 2020
A below average web series, it's nothing good as like APAHARAN (2018) or DELHI CRIME. They could have used Arunoday Singh way better, only two people got some impressive roles were Sikander Kher (Vidhur Mehra) & Ashwini Kalsekar (Lawyer Abha). Courtroom proceedings weren't serious at all, Vidhur's assistant Mishra's cheap jokes were really unnecessary.

Strong message with a weak plot.

4/10 Seems like that the movie team wanted to give a good message, but with a lower than average story it didn't work out well.

Truely a boring movie, One of the good fact about the movie is good acting by Harby Sangha & Nirmal Rishi. Karamjit Anmol & Gurmeet Saajan should have given more space in the movie. Main hero & heroine weren't impressive at all..

Disappointed 5/10
29 July 2018
No storyline & chemistry between characters. Gangster interacted with Saheb when almost 3/4 movie was already finished, he & Saheb didn't had any major problem with each others. Sad to see a brilliant director like Tigmanshu Dhulia couldn't use big stars like Sanjay & Jimmy properly, when he had already made magic with Jimmy & Mahie in SBG1. Saheb Biwi aur Gangster 1 = 9/10 Saheb Biwi aur Gangster 2 = 7/10 Saheb Biwi aur Gangster 3 = 5/10

Nankana (2018)
6/10
Average, Didn't meet up the expectations.
7 July 2018
Movie with a good message and cinematography 6/10 for that. But script was just average, Main villain who killed baby Nankana's real mother, was roaming free in the end of the movie, how come a killer is enjoying freedom like this. It's sad when establish celebrities like Gurdas Maan & his wife Manjeet Maan (director) don't give chance to local Punjabi artists and prefer non-punjabi artists for main roles in punjabi movies, who can't speak THETH & fluent Punjabi. Even lead actress of the movie Kavita Kaushik, couldn't pronounce the movie's Title or Baby's name Nankana properly in Punjabi, she had a lot of hindi touch in her dialogues. Her dance moves in song GIDHEY VICH were very fast & funny for a Gidha song. Although she is a talented actress, i'm a fan of her. But it's big duty of the director to keep an eye on these important things & explain to artists. Punjabi industry has got heaps of local talent, we don't need Bollywood type Punjabi speakers anymore in our movies. Whoever done the job of English subtitles for cinema version, made a lot of mistakes like they used Gurudwara instead of Kotwali, Pritap instead of Pirtam, Maggie instead of Maaghi/Maghi and many more. Every artist from around the world is welcome to Punjabi industry but its a duty of movie makers to prepare them before starting the work.

Emotional, Beautiful, Perfect Acting. A MUST SEE
6 May 2018
Almost everything is well placed in the movie. Technically speaking, a wonderful movie with a great story, best songs, fine acting especially by Jimmy Sheirgill, Simi Chahal, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Seema Kaushal, Harby Sangha & Mahabir Bhullar with their THETH Punjabi dialogue delivery. Above all a great performance by Madam Nirmal Rishi, but she had a very little role. Tarsem Jassar also performed well in a cameo appearance. Sorry i'm giving it 9/10, because it was a little short in length. I personally feel that after the song REFUGEE, 10 more minutes should have been added to the movie. Good wishes to director Taran Jagpal & writer Jass Grewal for making a movie as the same level of ANGREJ (2015) & LAHORIYE (2017)..
