Not that good
10 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
There are much better videos covering this case on YouTube. I can recommend Jennifer's solution by J C S

This Netflix documentary has a very black and white approach to the case and down plays the reasoning of Jennifer Pan tremendously... Even though it's the most important part of this story and should also be considered by many parents that are pressuring their children.

It also feels like this documentary doesn't have that dynamic touch we usually get from netflix documentaries. It's very bland and feels rushed.

I guess they are mass producing these nowadays since true crime is getting more and more popular on YouTube and such. I am going to stick to YouTube if the quality doesn't improve.

No Way Up (2024)

This is a horrible movie, not a horror movie
23 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
It has been summarized many times already but it can't be emphasized enough how obnoxious the two frat boys are. I guess they wanted them to have some kind of redemption arc during the movie?!

The movie feels and is cheap.

What annoys me the most is the depiction of sharks. Never ever would sharks act like this. It looks like they are supposed to be tiger sharks. They are aggressive yes, but in a situation like that they would be eating the corpses not going for the survivors and even less for the rescue divers.

Speaking of rescue divers. The one dude at the porthole not understanding the universal sign for turn around is ridiculous. Furthermore the water is clear and they should have spotted the sharks way before they reached the wreck.

The movie wouldn't have been worse if the sharks would have behaved normally. I would even argue that it could have been better if put together correctly.

I cannot recommend this movie. Don't waste your time.

Good but not the epic that many claim
12 March 2024
Visually it's a gem. Every moment was stunning and immersive. Fights and action were nice.

Ost magic, which is logic. Thank you Hans Zimmer.

Acting was all good.

Script wasn't my cup of tea. While the first half is rather slow while not telling a lot. The second half is the exact opposite. We are submerged with information and events.

The movie feels like they had a roadmap saying that they would finish the second part with the start of the war and realised halfway through that somehow they needed to squeeze all of this content in the last 45 minutes.

I actually caught myself thinking ah so the movie will end now 3 times...

Again not a bad movie and I hear that the books are rather hard to convert into a movie but if you are expecting the pacing of lotr you will be disappointed.

Had to check if this was written and filmed within a month
24 December 2023
That was painful to watch. Especially when you know that they actually had the time to make something good. I also wonder if Snyder has any advisors... You don't need to have studied cinematography to tell that this is a very bad movie.

The plot is uninspired or rather inspired from any movie ever written. We have seen this story a thousand times and will see it a thousand times more.

The pacing is absolutely terrible. The action is boring with it's tendancy to slow mo everything. VFX are horrible.

I really wonder where the 166 m budget went.

This movie doesn't respect your time. Don't watch it.

I love this show
11 April 2023
I think I have never seen a TV show that shook me up that much. I felt it.

Great premise, incredible acting, believable characters. Plot might be a bit over the top but doesn't justify ratings under 8.

Target audience here are millennials. That's pretty clear.

To me, this is a masterpiece and I will be watching it again and again.

Unfortunately this show will not speak to some generations hence the most likely below 8 rating.

BUT if you are a millennial, watch this. I guarantee you will enjoy it. The soundtrack, the references and the struggles. That's what this generation is going through.

The Boys (2019– )

This is my favourite TV Show.
8 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I can't really express in words how much I value this show...

Fiction left aside, this is a perfect portrayal of the capitalist world: most powerful people are deranged. That's what power does to humans. Yes. "Sups" are (in my eyes) still humans. Even if they have features that make them powerful.

We will most likely never have proof, but if we had individuals that would have powers, this show (based on a comic) would be accurate.

I can't get enough of the boys. It's too good.

Predictable and boring.
11 March 2022
Like most other bigger Netflix productions, this feels rushed.

It's always the same and won't get better because you add some famous actors to the cast...

That this is rated above 7 is sad
19 December 2021
This show is bad and these are the reasons:

Screenplay: It's simply boring and lazy. They try to give the audience what they believe the audience wants and fail incredibly.

Camera work: No consistency, not settling on one style. Nobody expects complete innovation, but here they use every trick ever used. It's chaotic and messes up a lot.

Dialogues: Full of clichés, boring and completely predictable.

In season 2 the costumes are ridiculous.

This is a typically by greed and fan service messed up show. Could have been good, but again some idiots are in charge and create utter garbage.

Some here need to take a chill pill and realize what this is...
2 December 2021
You want to see an accurate version of this historical event? Then watch one of the many documentaries available for free across the internet...

Underrating a Netflix show meant to entertain its viewers is simply ridiculous.

It's not a masterpiece I'll give you that. Is it bad? No. Is it entertaining? Absolutely.

The acting is good and I absolutely love how they spoke latin.

If you like show like Vikings or the last kingdom, this is for you.

Don't let yourself fool by some wannabe historians here that don't understand how tv entertainment works.

Looking forward to the 2nd season, hopefully with more then only 6 or 8 episodes.

Good Idea ruined by being produced by greedy netflix
26 January 2021
Is Winx as a concept working? Absolutely!

Is it well executed? Not at all.

I don't care about the reasons for this first season to be only 6 episodes long. What I know is that the whole show suffers under it. No character development, plot holes, unrealistic outcomes and much more... That's what you get, watching this show.

Netflix needs a purge on how they approach productions. I can't tell for sure, but it most likely is about money, as usual.

It's project lazy
17 August 2020
Netflix is one of the worst things that could happen to cinematographic art. This is the kind of movies you get when a company has to much money and wants to make even more money.

The idea isn't even that bad and they could have done a good movie, if they would have tried. Instead of that we have got the plot we have seen over a hundred times, packed with clichees we have seen even more often.

This is a lazy excuse for a movie.

@Netflix: maybe don't blow the bugdet on the cast next time a get some good writers or even better, stop doing movies.

What the heck happened?
8 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Didn't understood a thing about what happened in this episode x) They should haves stopped after they left earth. Would have been perfect.

But they are greedy. You can even see it in the actors performance... They are like: "when are you going to let me go?"

Awful.

good idea but poorly executed
19 April 2020
I like the whole idea but I have big issues with the character building in this... I don't like any of the characters. They are all plain boring. That goes to the point that after watching the first season I can only name a handful characters.

The female twin has one of the most unklikable personalities I have ever seen on TV. Her behaviour is simpy disgusting and anoying.

Many reviewers critized some inacurate aspects related to the blindness of humans. I get that even if I can ignore it.

I don't ask for character building à la Vince Gilligan, but they could have done far better. The characters here don't feel real.

Baba Voss (Jason Momoa) is basically a blind superman with MacGyver skills, which is booooooooooooring.

I won't continue watching the show.

Incredible episode. I can't even describe how I felt.
15 April 2020
To those who didn't watch it so far, don't read to much here. Some are giving little hints away (even in the no spoiler reviews), that will altere your perception of this episode.

I wish there would be more tv shows like this. With this episode we have proof that it's still doable and that it doesn't have to cost lots of money.

Take your time, let the characters develope and keep it real. That's it.

This episode was extraorinary. Definitely in the top 3 episodes of any show I have watched so far, maybe even best one ever.

Still shaking.

Not worth going to the movie theater
6 March 2020
First of all I have to mention, that I saw the trailer before I saw the movie. Basically I knew exactly what would happen because the trailer spoiled the whole plot. So thank you for that.

They prise the fact that the film is produced by the same people who produced the Fast and Furious series. That should tell enough about that movie:

Lots of action, bad story and full of stereotypes.

Enjoy that one at home, on an evening where you have nothing better to do.

Incredibly on point
25 January 2020
Prude people are going to hate this TV Show. Honest people will see themselves at some point watching it.

It's fun, it's dramatic and it's crudely true.

The character developement has to be the best I have seen since Breaking Bad. It all feels so realistic, all of this could actually happen.

The acting performance is incredbly good. Gillian Anderson is stealing it here but even then... All the other actors are so damn good.

Even if some actors clearly play characters that are way younger that they are, it's still fine. Didn't expect something like Skins anyways.

Just start watching it and enjoy. It's pure gold.

Just another female spy movie
17 October 2019
Salt, Atomic Blonde, Colombiana and Red Sparrow...

It's all the same. I just don't get why they keep doing this. Be original!

I am a huge Luc Besson fan and always thought that he was mostly directing movies which would be at least a bit outside the box... but this one disappointed me. It came out as it is expected to come out nowadays.

The acting was absolutely fine. Elen Mirren is amazing. Sasha Luss in the lead role...? I am impressed. She did the job spot on and what a beautiful woman. Overall the acting is excellent.

The fight scene in the restaurant is on the same level as what we see in a John Wick movie.

Very entertaining movie with predictable story.

Warning: Spoilers
Never have I ever interrupted an episode of GoT... *taking a sip*

Before I continue with my rant, I have to praise the work of everybody involved in that episode beside D&D. The acting, the directing, the costumes and everything else was spot on. You all deserve a 10/10 for what you have contributed over the years until now.

Where do I start? How about thank you D&D for getting me to drinking beer at 8.30 am?

Dumb and Dumber are just how what call them at the beginning of this sentence.

I stopped this episode two times:

The first time was because of the cringefest that startet when Tirion asked Brienne if she is a virging. How dare you?

The second time was during the scene where Jon decided to reveal his heritage to Sansa and Arya. Why would you cut that scene. Their (Sansa and Arya) imidiate reactions are what I want to see.

The scene with Bronn bargaining with Jaime and Tirion was pointless... A few minutes later, the reason why he doesn't kill J and T, get behalfed.

I am insulted by that writing and now I have to ask why not a single person who was involvded in that episode and the one before dared to ask the writers if they had any kind of drugs before they wrote this pile of ****.

This episode is even more underwehlming (story wise) than the battle of Winterfell. I simply have no words to explain how disapointed I am.

Thank you D&D for getting me drunk on a monday morning at 8.45 am. Thank you D&D for taking countless hours of my time for that anticlimatic pile of weasel ****!

Expecting far more. Writers have no guts.
29 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
People giving this a 10 out 10 are the reason why this episode turned out as it did. Could have been far better IMHO.

Beside the many plot holes and unlogical survivals, it was an overall descent filmed battle scene with great CGI and action.

The plot was underwhelming. It is clear that the show writers don't have the guts to kill off the main characters. This reminds me of the walking dead, where, years ago, they started showing the same issues and now the show is getting worse every episode.

On the other hand they showed their guts by killing off the NK... Which is a bad decision.

I rate it 6 for that awesome battle scene. The plot was far from good.

The only anime I saw this far which is more disturbing and sad than this one is Hotaru no haka aka grave of the fireflies.

The plot is really good and the animations are amazing.

I can recommend this mini-serie to all anime lovers which are not afraid of divergence when it goes about the mainstream manga and anime mentality.

Warning: Spoilers
Just watched that episode after TWD Season 8 final "throw".

I love it!

That's the spirit. That's what I want to see.

I am a little confused with the timeline even if Morgan did somehow manage to cross a good part of the country. I am not sure if this is actually possible. But even if it's not possible. I am fine with it.

There is actually only one other meeting I was more anticipating than Morgan VS Nick and that would have been Carol VS Nick. Overall I think that this is a great opening for a new season and that it leaves many possibilities open for upcoming episodes.

So I will leave a great THANK YOU here to the showmakers of FTWD for giving that awesome universe a second breath.

Looking forward to watch the next episode.

FTWD is now definitely better the TWD.

Really disappointed
16 April 2018
Warning: Spoilers
One third of this episode is alright.

I liked that Eugene did back up the opposition.

I liked that the beach people did show up.

Well that's it.

It's a disgrace that Rick mortally wounded Negan and then says: "Save him". I could have thrown up at this point.

It's a disgrace that Daryl simply banishes Dwight for no obvious reasons.

It's a disgrace that Maggie is plotting on Rick for letting Negan live.

It's a disgrace that Rick lets Negan live just to use him as a symbol.

I am so disappointed in the show... What happened? I am done with it. I don't give a damn about who did make that show a mess. For me it's done now. No coming back.

Thank you for wasting so much of my time.
