How I Met Your Mother: Last Forever: Part Two (2014)
How I met your ruined Ted Mosby
Kids, this is how you butcher nine seasons of mediocrity and turn it into sewage. The last few minutes of the show made zero sense for Mosby's character as his "Nice Guy Syndrome" kicks in, and he realises the right girl isn't good enough, he has to go after the hot one. Scherbatsky never loved Ted. She only wanted him when she saw him with somebody else. And kids, that's real love right there. The girl that cares about you, loves you, is lame. You gotta look for some selfish chick who manipulates you and tries to wreck your relationships.
Unlike many other viewers, I didn't mind Stinson and Scherbatsky breaking up. They were both terrible people who did terrible things. In a way, they were perfect for each other, yet I wasn't surprised their marriage didn't work out. I do have issues with Tracy's passing. Ted-Tracy should've been together. They were undoubtably the best couple on the show. Viewers had high expectations from the mother after all that build up throughout the show. You're destined to fail when you're under such high expectations, but Cristin Milioti had other plans. She played her role perfectly and met all those expectations. Considering the overall mediocrity of HIMYM, it was nothing more than a fluke from the writers.
Apart from Ted-Tracy storyline, last season was utterly disappointing. They should've got more screen time, maybe that might've just somewhat saved the season nine. No, nothing could've saved the season nine from that horrendous ending.
Community: Remedial Chaos Theory (2011)
Magnum Opus of Dan Harmon
The endlessly re-watchable "Remedial Chaos Theory" has to be one of the greatest episodes in television history, and in my humble opinion the finest 22 minutes of American television in the comedy genre. Character based storytelling in different timelines with immaculate comedic punch only gets better. I saw this episode four times and noticed new details every single time which (an avid community viewer would argue) is shared throughout the series, but this episode does it best. A rare solid 10/10 from me for this brilliancy.
