Curb Your Enthusiasm: Atlanta (2024)
Larry is just phoning it in
Surprisingly, it has gotten worse than last season. Larry's acting is so bad, its like they just do one take of him giggling when saying his lines and then that's it.
Example is his interactions with the housekeeper when in his hotel room...its like he can't even be bothered to act anymore.
The glasses subplot was funny as it aligned with Larry and his predicaments.
The Brooke / Brookie thing just went far too long, that didn't deserve 10 minutes of screen time.
Not to spoil anything but the ending with the housekeeper was slightly over the top and unbelievable.
I'm being generous with the 6 rating. Larry has given up.
Star Trek: Lower Decks: Kayshon, His Eyes Open (2021)
10x better than ep 1
We got to see the exciting life on Riker's gung ho battle ready ship which was nice. We got to see the difference between professionals and the kids.
I couldn't care less about the interns the show is focused on, should just make this an adult trek themed show. Mariner is just another Burham, no one wants her to be the focus of all the screen time.
Star Trek: Discovery: That Hope Is You, Part 2 (2021)
Lol found a mistake!
So the crew blew the warp engine and we're shown a cutscene of it breaking off but at the end when the crew teleports out with the spore drive the ship is in perfect condition and uses impulse to get into federation shield.
I thought the ship was broken :) Poor attention to detail.
Also, Burham being pushed into the electrical data core and coming out alive made absolutely no f'n sense.
Primal (2019)
Dinosaurs and humans never co-existed
Review for Eps 1-4
Cool story but not very realistic...
1) Humans and dinosaurs never co-existed, they lived 65 million years apart
2) No such thing as giant bats or spiders bigger than mammoths
I don't see how this is 'stunning piece of animation' other reviewers are claiming. Its basic animation from the 90s cartoons.
Star Trek: Discovery: Far from Home (2020)
I liked it, show on the right track, just one issue
Overall I felt it was a good episode showing the crew's interactions, a good break from the nonsense of Burnham getting 99% screen time.
What did bother me was how Saru was stopping Georgiou from killing the last baddie, she just killed EVERYONE in the room and saved your life and you're going to stop her at the last guy who is the worst of them all? For real??
Also, the fight scene was choreographed so poorly, felt like a low budget film/show like Andromeda.
That was two issues I guess :o)
Star Trek: Discovery: That Hope Is You, Part 1 (2020)
ST: Burham - With a brown dude :)
Props for having a south asian character (yes I know the Klingon guy is Pakistani) but the premise is so effing stupid, his family has been monitoring an abandoned comms relay for 900 years?!? I thought he was an AI / Hologram until he said his father did the same job.
Wow. Stupidity should have limits.
Also if someone punched me in the face once, let alone 4 times, they would be disfigured beyond recognition and I'm not even a bounty hunter / carrier.
Overall it was ok, looking forward to next episode and seeing less of drama queen Burnham. Orville got delayed to 2021 .... so sad.
Saturday Night Live: Chris Rock/Megan Thee Stallion (2020)
Pretty bad
Trevor Noah can pull off more laughs and satire in a 5 min video than a whole episode of SNL.
I hadn't watched SNL in years but thought I tune in around the hype that Jim Carrey will be on and its after the debate. Other than Jim's funny Joe Biden impression, the dialogue and jokes were weak. The rest of the episode was so bad I just kept skipping forward.
Chris Rock monologue was empty like they just pulled him off the street and asked him to say something random. It was stupid.
Weekend update seemed so fake and forced, take a stand on a joke, stop acting like 18 year olds.
Raised by Wolves: Faces (2020)
kinda stupid
So the bombs didn't explode but the detonator which has NO EXPLOSIVE MATERIAL blew up the guy's arms??
What's with everyone seeing and hearing ghosts? Androids don't have a brain to be affected by supernaturals.
This show is stupid, I don't get 10 ratings...I really don't.
The 100: A Sort of Homecoming (2020)
Worst episode of the entire show
What was this filler garbage? As if the episode before wasn't bad enough, it actually managed to get worse. Someone should just kill Clarke already.
Raised by Wolves (2020)
So let me get this straight
The android is blowing people up with her eyes and they are shooting at her with pistols that don't even dent her? She has bullet proof armor?
The ark is super advanced and there are no defense systems? One android mercilessly kills a 1000+ colonists just because they are religious fanatics?
Isn't her prime directive to save humans? So humans that are religious are not worth saving?
How does not looking at her not harm you? what?
I'm all for sci-fi but this is far fetched to quite an extent.
Star Trek: Lower Decks: Temporal Edict (2020)
This was my face expression watching whole episode :-I
I felt nothing, no laughter, no sorrow, no anger.
Just an occasional "What?!" thought like when he stabbed her in the foot or how XO is switching between being diplomatic to being a gung-ho fighter.
What's with the two angry self-absorbed black ladies? Also I noticed StarFleet is run by women now similar to the show Picard. Star Trek universe is turning into some sort of SJW agenda themed show and not in a good way. I'm all for being progressive but this...
I'm done typing.
Star Trek: Lower Decks: Envoys (2020)
Another show where males are stupid and women are super smart
The main character is dumb as bricks and the other ensign with the eye visor is dumb too but all the females are super smart.
It's the same character premise as Final Space, Futurama, Family Guy, and most shows.
Yay, go superficial feminism!
Star Trek: Lower Decks (2020)
Clone of the "Final Space" series which wasn't great to begin with
This show seems like it was made by the people that made Final Space with Rick and Morty nonsense thrown in. I am not a fan of either of those shows.
Couldn't they just make a normal animated series like Futurama or Star Wars? What's with the super fast paced talking like everyone is out of breath?
Meh, a show to kill time, not much more unless it improves.
Space Force: Conjugal Visit (2020)
Almost unwatchable
So bad, who is interested in the topic of conjugal visits in a space themed show? Bizarre writers that wrote the over the top and unrealistic dialogue.
Star Trek: Picard: Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 2 (2020)
So much potential lost
1. "Soji turn off the tower!" *Soji smashes fist into keyboard.* LOL! My family laughed, is that how you turn off an application? Who wrote this? Someone who has never used a computer?
2. The whole season built up to the synths coming to our galaxy and all we got to see was tentacles coming through the wormhole only to have it close...no conversations with the synths or explanation of whether they created the Borg. I was excited earlier in the season thinking this will be the Borg origination story which would be so cool!
Also it makes zero sense why the synths can't just come any time now? Don't they know the location of the transmission??
3. I don't even want to talk about how Data could've been brought back to life anytime or how human consciousness was transferred into a synth body. Also, why give yourself an old man's body if you're going to be a machine?
4. The romantic relationships in the final scene made absolutely NO SENSE! Why is the Dr. kissing the pilot? They weren't romantic. What's with the lesbian relationship....like what?!
5. The dude bringing a sword to every phasor fight was amusing the whole season, just a new level of dumb. It's not a light saber buddy.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 2: The Child (2019)
27 min run time? Really?
Felt like watching a 15 min video clip than a whole episode. I thought the standard was 1 hour long episodes? This season has only 8!
Content wise it was dumb and shallow. He seems like an incompetent bounty hunter. 1) He didn't zip line up the ship's side when attacking 2) He was fighting the rhino like he was clueless 3) Kills a giant rhino with a 6 inch knife?? REALLY??!
Is the target audience 11 year olds?
The Simpsons: I'm Just a Girl Who Can't Say D'oh (2019)
Potential lost
There was an opportunity to do so much with the concept but it fell flat everywhere and went nowhere. Could've developed dad's as good fathers with Homer as a concept but no, dad's are dumb and they were only taking parenting classes to bang the teacher. Classy, male stereotypes from the 90s.
Its 2019, the world has come so far, could've shown mixed race parents, gay couples, single moms, ANYTHING!!! There was no humour either.
The Hamilton subplot was half baked. I don't even want to analyze it, gonna go enjoy my life. Peace.
The Simpsons: Woo-Hoo Dunnit? (2019)
Unwatchable
This season has been pretty awful, this episode was so stale that I really didn't want to even watch it half way through and this is while I watching it on my tablet on the subway with nothing else to do other than exchange awkward glances with strangers and stare at people's feet.
I've been a simpsons fan my whole life but this is just really bad, have they changed the writers or are they deliberately sabotaging the show?
Maybe it's time for me to grow up, and maybe it's time for the show to get cancelled. I think it's time.
The Orville: Sanctuary (2019)
A story about Saudi Arabia and the UN/US
The US sells weapons to SA and has the UN overlook all their human rights issues against women. Women that escape from abuse in SA are in many cases murdered with the world watching, similar to what the Moclans were attempting to do. I guess it was a story related to real life.
Can the show focus more on sci fi now and less social issues? I watch shows and play games to escape reality...
Star Trek: Discovery: Perpetual Infinity (2019)
Am I reading this right?
- So it seems the AI created section 31 or am I reading too much between the lines? The ship's captain self-infected himself with nanites following some protocol which would only happen if the AI created the protocols in the first place and gives them commands.
- I didn't understand how phasers were doing zero damage to the cyborg captain? I get he has nanites but he's not T-1000 from Terminator, he's still human flesh that's been infected.
- The mother and suit got sucked back up separately, does that mean she's going to die in space without the suit?
- Why does the mother keep saving Burnham if it's not important to "save the universe"? and yet she seems so stoic that your death means nothing. Also don't know how she can watch her child's life? She's a time traveler, not an invisible being.
This show is no longer Star Trek...................no idea what Im watching.
Star Trek: Discovery: The Red Angel (2019)
Plot holes and stupidity galore!
- So stupid, Burnham is rationally informed that your parents died in the line of duty by their own choice. The risk of their mission was underestimated and they got killed. What does she do? Brutally punches the military captain of a vessel in the face who ZERO consequences!! So in the future, violent outbursts are perfectly A-OK!!
- Science must be really bad in the future when doctors say the DNA is a 100% match to Burnham and it turns out to be her mother?! Parents and children don't have identical DNA.
- If Burnham was the variance and angel shows up whenever she's dying, how come angel came to save Saru's homeworld or the other random reasons? THIS SHOW MAKES NO SENSE.
- The plan was the deprive Burnham of oxygen, why is her skin being cooked alive? was torture part of the plan as well?
- Red Angel shows up AFTER burnham dies? I thought time travel lets you time travel to any time you want? And her suit just vaporizes?
- What's with Burnham kissing the Klingon again? I thought they were over each other? Also, who the hell sexually kisses someone on the lips while crying?
- More emotional drama and tears than a soap opera.
Good riddance.
The Orville: Lasting Impressions (2019)
What a fascinating and funny episode!
Best line was by Lamar "it's not like you can conjour up a girlfriend!"
Gordon takes it as a brilliant idea, who wouldn't? Why not create yourself the perfect love life and partner? "Do I not deserve a girlfriend?!" Doesn't matter if something isn't real, our brains cannot distinguish between imaginary and real unless we tell it to. Felt empathetic towards Gordon, he really wanted a real connection. In the end when he goes up to sing with her to enjoy whatever moment he could was very sweet, it was him making most of what time he could get with Laura and had accepted that "he needed to go".
I really liked how the advanced computer system reprogrammed Laura after he deleted her bf. That was very unexpected and a good touch. Every relationship we have shapes us to be who we are.
It was also nice how the whole crew is aware of Gordon's neediness to find a gf, also liked how zoned out they were in the holodeck party because they didn't care about building relationships with fake artificial avatars. Its like getting emotionally attached to a video game character.
The moclans smoking was just hilarious!!! :D
The Orville: Blood of Patriots (2019)
Orville is back!!
Good episode, watch it! I'm not spoiling it, enjoy the show.
The Orville: A Happy Refrain (2019)
It was a good episode (but weird!) :)
It was a nice episode about unrequited love that sort of tied into how dysfunctional modern dating can be, as well with having too much information on the other person ending the mystery of learning about someone but can we kindly get off the topic of 'relationships'? This is a scifi show right?
Star Trek Discovery is doing scifi but are sticking with the the odd Angel/Spock and Klingon backstory and Orville is dwelling on relationships... can't wait for new season The Expanse to start.
Star Trek: Discovery: Brother (2019)
Everything other than Burnham was great!
Great episode, would prefer if they cut Burnham's screen time and dialogue by 95%. Her mentally and emotionally dysfunctional character doesn't seem to fit well with a senior position on the ship.
There are so many better characters, focus on them!
I also don't get what was with the retro outfits...was this a time travel episode? are they from another dimension? why is their ship totally disabled if they travelled to meet the Discovery?
Spock/Burnham back story seemed like a big filler.
Now I want to give this episode a 7 but action and comedy with the scientist medic was good so 8 it is. :)
