Face-Off: The Three Amigos

During the The 79th Annual Academy Awards (2007), three Mexican directors, Alfonso Cuarón, Alejandro González Iñárritu and Guillermo del Toro were all in contention at the Oscars and they became known as The Three Amigos. They share a unique bond with all of them helping in each other's projects.

After Guillermo del Toro's victory at the 2018 Oscars, they all have won the Best Director Academy Award, which as of 2019, has been for one of them in five of the last six ceremonies.
