Slasher Movies Of The 80'S (Somewhat)

by DavyDissonance | created - 14 Jul 2017 | updated - 10 Oct 2019 | Public

This is a list of Slasher Movies mostly from the 80's. I also added Slasher movies from the 60's, 70's, 90's and 2000's but mainly only the ones I liked. This is the "educated" version of "List Of Slasher Movies" as it seems most people can't even COMPREHEND what a Slasher movie is considering they put in The Exorcist or whatever on their SLASHER list. What I consider to be Slasher is (personally)........

1) If three or more people die by a bladed weapon or a weapon that can penetrate. You can throw blunt weapons or guns into the mix but 3 people have to die by bladed or penetrable weapons.

2) It has to feel like a horror movie and not like a straight thriller/suspense/drama. Social commentary movies like Maniac and Driller Killer is considerable because it is horror and there is slashing about.

3) Stalking also helps.

Slashers that use apparitions as antagonists may count as LONG as there is slashing. Also I will make minor exceptions for Giallo films but they are going to be a rarity on this list. And I will add a few movies that are not really Slasher films but I will make exceptions only because they come very *beep* closer and I like them a lot.

Enjoy. :|
