1. Miami Vice (1984–1989)

Miami Vice is the GOAT in TV Cop Shows. Nothing will beat, nothing could beat it, it combined synthesized electronic music, high powered sports cars, with designer label clothing, style and real hard tough in your face action and violence. This TV Show was absolutely brilliant, immensely popular and the absolutely brilliant Synthesized music by Jan Hammer used to intensify scenes and stories in episodes as well as the intensity in the episodes and excellent acting by Don Johnson, Philip Michael Thomas, Michael Talbott, John Diehl, Saundra Santiago and Edward James Olmos was absolutely brilliant.

2. Airwolf (1984–1986)

Airwolf was also an absolutely brilliant TV Show about a state of the art Supersonic Helicopter armed with deadly weapons such as Cannons, Strike Missiles, Chain Guns, Hellfire, Sidewinders, Sunburst, Lasers etc and equipped with cutting-edge on-board computer computer, surveillance and radar systems, able to fly quicker than the fastest jets, and armed with immense firepower. Airwolf was so sophisticated, advanced and very powerful it could even destroy Knight Riders KITT. This TV Show was absolutely brilliant and was a show which also featured an absolutely brilliant Synthesized theme tune by Sylvester Levay as well as excellent acting by Jan Michael Vincent, Ernest Borgnine, Jean Bruce Scott and Alex Cord.

3. Street Hawk (1985)

A desk bound cop secretly fights crime as the test pilot for a prototype combat motorcycle.

Street Hawk was also an absolutely brilliant TV Show about an ex Motorcycle Cop called Jesse Mach who's on a Government Mission destined to ride 'Street Hawk' an all Terrain attack Motorcycle capable of doing incredible speeds of up to 300mph and armed with immense firepower. The bike is a highly sophisticated and far superior vehicle to KITT and was designed and created by engineer Norman Tuttle and has some excellent features such as immense firepower, hyperthrust, which makes the bike do speeds of 300mph and Street Hawk has an on board weapons system(which Knight Riders KITT doesn't have) with machine guns, lasers, missiles etc operated by Norman which can destroy anything including KITT. This TV Show had an absolutely brilliant synthesized theme tune by Tangerine Dream and excellent acting by Rex Smith, Jeannie Wilson, Richard Venture and Joe Regalbuto.

4. Knight Rider (1982–1986)

A lone crimefighter battles the forces of evil with the help of a virtually indestructible and artificially intelligent supercar.

Knight Rider was also an absolutely brilliant TV Show about Michael Knight who has to drive a highly sophisticated talking computerised Black Trans Am called KITT(Knight Industries Two Thousand) with awesome features such as super pursuit mode(aka SPM) enabling the car to increase it's speed, Turbo Boost, great firepower etc. This absolutely brilliant TV Show was awesome in the 80's but now the repeats being shown on Legend Channel Monday to Friday 7.00pm to 8.00pm before the brilliant 'Walker Texas Ranger' are very boring and I'm getting fed up and sick and tired of continuously hearing KITT's voice, but the great thing is I don't watch the repeats anymore. This TV Show had an excellent theme tune and excellent acting by David Hasselhoff, Edward Mulhare and Patricia McPherson.

5. Automan (1983–1984)

Automan was also an absolutely brilliant sci fi TV Show about a police officer named Walter Nebicher. This cop is an expert in computers and developed and created a highly sophisticated crime fighting hologram named Automan(played by Chuck Wagner) able to leave the world at night and which helps him fight crime. Automan has an assistant named Curser that can create holographic objects such as a car, helicopter or any other object needed by Walter or Automan to fight crime. This TV Show has an absolutely brilliant synthesized theme tune and excellent acting by Desi Arnaz Jr, Chuck Wagner, Heather McNair, Gerald S. O'Loughlin and Robert Lansing.

6. Manimal (1983)

A suave and elegant university professor, who can shape-shift into any animal, fights crime along with a female New York detective and his right-hand man.

Stars: Simon MacCorkindale, Melody Anderson, Reni Santoni, Michael D. Roberts

Manimal was an absolutely brilliant TV Show. Manimal was about a consultant for the NYPD called Jonathan Chase(played by Simon MacCorkindale) a shape shifter who had the ability to transform himself into any animal he chose and used this ability to help the Police fight crime. Only two people were aware of Jonathan's secret, his friend Ty Earl and Police Detective Brooke Mackenzie. Jonathan would assist Brooke with a case she was working on, with Jonathan transforming himself into any animal when it became useful. While Jonathan had the ability to transform himself into any animal, he would transform himself into a hawk and a panther in nearly every episode. This TV Show had an absolutely brilliant theme tune and excellent acting by Simon MacCorkindale, Melody Anderson, Michael D. Roberts and Reni Santoni.

7. Blue Thunder (1984)

An advanced prototype police helicopter and their ground support crew battle crime.

Blue Thunder was also a good TV Show about some cops who had to fly a highly powerful Police Helicopter called Blue Thunder. This TV Show had a good theme tune but the TV Show was not as popular or as successful as Airwolf and only lasted one season. Unfortunately there were many problems to this TV Show compared to Airwolf and it's power. Airwolf is a highly sophisticated state of the art supersonic military helicopter, Blue Thunder is only a Police Helicopter. Another problem about this TV Show was it's inconsistency. This TV Show had some good acting by James Farentino, Dana Carvey, Bubba Smith, Sandy McPeak, Dick Butkus and Kelly Preston. This was a classic TV Show but maybe not an excellent one.

8. The Incredible Hulk (1978–1982)

The Incredible Hulk was also an absolutely brilliant TV Show. This excellent TV Show was about a mild mannered scientist called Dr David Banner(played by Bill Bixby) who after accidental exposure to a source of Gamma Radiation is unfortunately transformed into this uncontrollable and enraging huge green creature called The Hulk(played by Lou Ferrigno) when he experiences intense emotions such as anger. This TV Show also had a great TV Theme tune and also featured excellent acting by Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno.

9. The A-Team (1983–1987)

Four Vietnam vets, framed for a crime they didn't commit, help the innocent while on the run from the military.

The A-Team was also an absolutely brilliant TV Show. This TV Show was about former members of a United States Army Special Forces unit. The four members of the team were tried by court martial for a crime they had not committed. They were convicted and sentenced to serve arms in a military prison, but later escaped to Los Angeles and began working as soldiers of fortune, while trying to clear their names and avoid capture by law enforcement and military authorities. This TV Show had an absolutely brilliant TV Theme tune and had excellent acting by George Peppard, Dirk Benedict, Dwight Schultz, Melinda Culea and Mr. T.

10. The Dukes of Hazzard (1979–1985)

The adventures of the fast-drivin', rubber-burnin' Duke boys of Hazzard County.

The Dukes of Hazzard was an absolutely brilliant TV Show. The Dukes of Hazzard was an American action comedy TV Show about two male cousins Bo and Luke Duke who are assisted by their very beautiful and sexy female cousin Daisy Duke and Uncle Jesse to fight the system and root out the corrupt practices of Hazzard County Commissioner Boss Hogg and his bumbling Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane. Probation prevents the 'Duke Boys' from owning guns and the duo are armed with bows and arrows and clever wits to outwit a corrupt sheriff and greedy rich "city slickers". The Duke Boys are a pair of 'Robin Hood' types complete with bows and arrows are assisted in their adventures by their car an orange coloured 1969 Dodge Charger. In the 80's and even today this TV Show was not just loved and is loved but it also had an absolutely brilliant theme tune and excellent acting by John Schneider, Tom Wopat, Catherine Bach, Denver Pyle, JamesBest, Sorrell Booke and Waylon Jennings.

11. The Fall Guy (1981–1986)

The Fall Guy was also an absolutely brilliant and awesome TV Show. The Fall Guy was about a Hollywood stuntman called Colt Seavers(played by Lee Majors) who picked up a little extra money by using his awesome and excellent physical skills and knowledge of stunt effects(especially stunts involving cars or his large GMC pickup truck) to capture bail jumpers and criminals. He is accompanied by his cousin and stuntman in training Howie Munson(played by Douglas Barr), who studied in Nashville whom Colt frequently calls "kid", and occasionally by stuntwoman, Jody Banks(played by Heather Thomas). This TV Show has an absolutely brilliant theme tune and excellent acting by Lee Majors, Douglas Barr, Heather Thomas and Jo Ann Pflug.

12. Magnum, P.I. (1980–1988)

Magnum, P.I aka Magnum was an absolutely brilliant TV Show. Magnum was about a Private Investigator called Thomas Sullivan Magnum IV played by Tom Selleck who lives in a 200-acre beachfront estate in Hawaii. This TV Show had an absolutely brilliant them tune and excellent acting by Tom Selleck, John Hillerman, Roger E. Mosley and Larry Marnetti.

13. Starsky and Hutch (1975–1979)

Starsky & Hutch was an absolutely brilliant TV Show. It was an awesome cop show but couldn't/ doesn't keep up to the extremely high standards of the GOAT in TV Cop Shows Miami Vice. The TV Shows protagonists was about two Southern California Police Detectives Sergeant David Michael Starsky(played by Paul Michael Glaser) and Sergeant Kenneth Richard 'Hutch' Hutchinson. This TV Show had an absolutely brilliant theme tune and excellent acting by Paul Michael Glaser, David Soul, Antonio Fargas and Bernie Hamilton.

14. Hardcastle and McCormick (1983–1986)

A retired judge and his last defendant follow up on cases that were dismissed due to technicalities.

It was more an American crime drama than a cop show, it was great but it also definitely couldn't/doesn't keep up to the extremely high standards of the GOAT in TV Cop Shows Miami Vice. Hardcastle and McCormick was about a LA County Superior Court Judge called Judge Milton C. "Hardcastle" an eccentric judge

15. Murder, She Wrote (1984–1996)

Murder She Wrote was an absolutely brilliant TV crime show. Murder She Wrote was about an intelligent mystery writer called Jessica Fletcher (played by Angela Lansbury) who also works as a detective and helps the Police to fight crime. Jessica Fletcher is an experience woman and is imperative to the Police to deal with criminals and help them get arrested for the crimes they commit. This TV Show has an absolutely brilliant theme tune and excellent acting by Angela Lansbury.

16. The Professionals (1977–1983)

The Professionals was an absolutely brilliant TV Crime Show. The Professionals was about a group of CI5(Criminal Intelligence 5) Operatives called Bodie(played by Lewis Collins), Doyle(played by Martin Shaw) and George Cowley(played by Gordon Jackson) aka The Professionals who were on a mission and had duties to help the Police fight terrorism, malicious and dangerous crimes, deal with criminals and get criminals arrested for crimes they committed. The Professionals had an absolutely brilliant theme tune and excellent acting by Lewis Collins, Martin Shaw and Gordon Jackson.

17. CHiPs (1977–1983)

CHiPs was another brilliant TV Cop Show. CHiPs(California Highway Patrol Service) was about two California motorcycle Police Officers who were out on the streets of California to deal with the most intense crimes and very dangerous and malicious criminals. CHiPs was an excellent cop show but it was also definitely not up to the standards of the GOAT in TV Cop Shows Miami Vice.

18. Hill Street Blues (1981–1987)

Hill Street Blues focused on the lives of some of the toughest US Police Officers and their duties, responsibilities and tasks imperative to be done in a huge Police Station called Hill Street Police Station. Hill Street Blues had an absolutely brilliant theme tune and excellent acting by Daniel J. Travanti, Michael Conrad, Michael Warren, Bruce Weitz, James B. Sikking, Joe Spano, Barbara, Bosson, Taurean Blacque, Kiel Martin, Rene Enriquez, Betty Thomas, Charles Haid and Veronica Hamel.

19. T.J. Hooker (1982–1986)

The weekly adventures of tough-as-nails veteran police officer Sgt. T.J. Hooker, who rides the beat with his rookie partner Vince Romano.

TJ Hooker was another absolutely brilliant TV Cop Show. TJ Hooker focuses on the life of a US LA Police Sergeant called Sgt TJ Hooker(played by William Shatner) who after the death of his partner LCPD(Los Angles County Police Department) Detective Sergeant who got killed in the duty whilst trying stop a robbery with TJ Hooker, tries and wants to get rid of criminals from the streets of LA. This TV Show had an absolutely brilliant theme tune and excellent acting by William Shatner, Adrian Zmed, Heather Locklear and James Darren.

20. Hunter (I) (1984–1991)

Rick Hunter is a renegade cop who bends the rules and takes justice into his own hands. Partnered with the equally stunning and rebellious Sgt. McCall, he sets out to crack down on L.A.'s slimiest criminals.

Hunter was another absolutely brilliant TV Cop Show. Hunter focuses on the lives of a rule bending and physically imposing US LA Police Officer called Sgt Rick Hunter(played by Fred Dryer) and female sergeant Sgt Dee Dee McCall(played by Stepfanie Kramer and their ways of dealing with the lives of criminals and with the dealing and arrest of some very dangerous and malicious criminals. This TV Show had an absolutely brilliant Theme tune and excellent acting by Fred Dryer and Stepfanie Kramer.

21. The Bill (1984–2010)

The Bill was and is an absolutely brilliant UK TV Cop Show which has been on TV For years since 1984 till the 20th Century. The Bill focuses on the lives on the Police Officers at Sun Hill Police Station, their duties, responsibilities, actions and interaction as cops with other cops because they are all of different ranks some are PC's(Police Constables), some are DC's(Detective Constables), some are Sergeants, some are DS's(Detective Sergeants), some are DI's(Detective Inspectors) some like DCI Jack Meadows are DCI's(Detective Chief Inspectors) some are Superintendents and some are Inspectors like Inspector Gina Gold. This TV has an absolutely brilliant theme tune and being a UK TV Cop Show has been said as not only best UK TV Cop Show but as also been said as being similar to the US TV Cop Show Hill Street Blues.

22. Dempsey and Makepeace (1985–1986)

Dempsey, a tough NYPD cop, is sent to a London undercover police unit teamed up with the sophisticated, sexy, blonde Makepeace. They hunt down the top of London's underworld - when not quarreling.

Dempsey and Makepeace is an absolutely brilliant TV Cop Show. Dempsey and Makepeace focuses on the lives of a US NYPD Cop Lieutenant Jim Dempsey who angers and causes tension amongst a mob and is sent to London for safekeeping. Dempsey is partnered with UK Police Detective Harriet Makepeace who has to find out what her new male Police Lieutenant is like, to keep observations of what his interaction with her is like and his actions and ways in the way he deals with criminals and gets involved dealing with crimes. This TV Show has an absolutely brilliant theme tune and excellent acting by Michael Brandon, Glynis Barber and Ray Smith.

23. Cagney & Lacey (1981–1988)

Cagney & Lacey is about two US female Police Detectives who go through very disparate lives and are also very disparate to each other in many different ways. Christine Cagney and Mary Beth Lacey not only have to help each other battle their own professional and personal issues but they also have to prove and try to prove that they are some responsible and excellent Police Detectives that the US Police Force can trust. This TV Show also has an absolutely brilliant theme tune and excellent acting by Sharon Gless, Tyne Daly, Al Waxman, Carl Lumbly, Martin Kove, Sidney Clute and John Karlen.

24. Hawaii Five-O (1968–1980)

The Five-O force also at times work with the local police on individual crime cases and Garrett's nemesis is notorious crime kingpin Wo Fat. This TV Show also has an absolutely brilliant theme tune and excellent acting by Jack Lord, Nancy Kwan, Leslie Nielsen, Andrew Duggan, James Gregory, Khigh Dhiegh and Lew Ayres

25. The Equalizer (1985–1989)
