The Mighty Mighty Bosstones will ska no more: The Boston band announced Thursday that, after nearly five decades together, they are breaking up.
“After decades of brotherhood, touring the world and making great records together, we have decided to no longer continue on as a band,” the Mighty Mighty Bosstones said in a statement on social media.
“Above all, we want to express our sincere gratitude to every single one of you who have supported us. We could not have done any of it without you.”

Graham Nash has slammed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for using his song “Chicago” in a promotional video for the anti-vax rally set for Washington, D.C. on Sunday.
The Csny legend took to Instagram Saturday to inform fans that Rfk Jr.’s use of the 1971 song — also known as “We Can Change the World” — was “not authorized” and that Nash has begun “taking steps to cause the cessation of its use.” Nash’s manager Mark Spector told Rolling Stone Saturday, “A cease-and-desist letter is in the works.”

Earlier this week, CBS announced that former One Direction member — and latest addition to the Christopher Nolan Players — Harry Styles is slated for a week-long residency on “The Late Late Show with James Corden.” For four consecutive nights, starting on May 15, Styles will serve as the resident musical artist.
With that “Dunkirk” appearance on the horizon and a solo music career still in its early stages, you could do worse than Styles when picking someone to hand the keys to an entire week’s worth of late night. And having been through the process of a breakneck sketch show schedule, he’ll probably be a capable comedy sidekick for Corden.
But what if this residency is a smashing success? Which other bands and artists would be ripe for tenures of their own on the other major daily late-night shows?
Jon Batiste and Stay Human hold down the fort for “The Late Show.

Go Patriots! After watching the 2015 Super Bowl on Sunday, Boston natives and famous BFFs Ben Affleck and Matt Damon celebrated the New England Patriots' win over the Seattle Seahawks with a celebratory photo op! The Oscar winners were all smiles while posing with pals Dicky Barrett of the Mighty Mighty Bosstones and sports analyst Bill Simmons. The Super Bowl party supposedly took place at the L.A. home of Adam Carolla. What the guys didn't realize however is that they are being photobombed by sportswriter and TV host Tony Kornheiser, who is standing in the background. Lol! Affleck and Damon have been super excited to watch Tom Brady and the rest of the Pats play all week. The other day,...

Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, John Krasinski and others turned on their best Boston accents on Jimmy Kimmel Live to throw support behind Tom Brady and the New England Patriots on Thursday in a new Super Bowl sketch, "I Am the Locker Room Guy."
Technically, however, it was "Donald O'Donnell McDonald," "Ryan Salty Flannigan" and others who took turns confessing to deflating the footballs during the Afc Championship Game on Jan. 18.
"I deflated those balls myself, all right? I did it. I'm the perpetrator. If you don't believe me, there's nothing I can say to change your mind. I'm turning myself in!

It looks like people are starting to come forward to take credit for the NFL “deflategate” scandal. Several oddly familiar faces cropped up on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in a video where they said they were the ones who deflated the footballs Tom Brady was using in the Afc Championship game.
But while these guys may have resembled stars like Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Steven Tyler, Eli Roth, Dicky Barrett, Bill Simmons, Chris Evans and John Krasinski, it wasn’t actually any of them.

It may be raining at MTV headquarters in New York, but it's sunny, warm and lively in Acapulco where MTV is celebrating Spring Break 2010. This year's party was highlighted by some stellar performances by the likes of Ludacris (who teamed up with Young Money member Nicki Minaj for a killer run through "My Chick Bad"), Drake (who knocked out his latest single "Over") and Trey Songz (who brought out his hit "I Invented Sex"). The party continues with music from B.o.B., Pitbull and more members of the Young Money crew. You can catch all the excellent music (as well as the scantily-clad revelers in Acapulco) on mtvU all week.
Spring Break has been tradition at MTV for over two decades, and the parties have hosted live performances from some of the biggest artists of all time. But not everybody who played to the beach bums became legends — some...

With the TV-watching world still abuzz over Sunday night's (February 7) Super Bowl ad featuring David Letterman and Jay Leno, this week opens with an interesting scenario for both hosts (and the entire late night landscape). Leno's final show is Tuesday night (February 9), and he'll be off the air until after the Winter Olympics wrap up. He'll then return as the host of "The Tonight Show," which will begin a whole new ratings war between himself and Letterman, and he'll end his run in prime time with Emma Roberts on Monday and Ashton Kutcher and Bob Costas on Tuesday.
But that's for down the road. This week's late night offerings are another eclectic mix of movie stars, TV personalities and excellent bands. For example, Tuesday night's "The Late Show with David Letterman" is one of the best trifectas in recent memory: "Valentine's Day" star Jennifer Garner, the cover model for the...

In the history of popular music, there are a handful of genres that have been maligned to the point that they're remembered as the absolute nadir of culture, even if there might have been a handful of tunes worth saving on your iPod. Disco is the prime example, and no amount of Abba-based musicals or "Saturday Night Fever" retrospectives will wash away the memories of people dancing awkwardly to Donna Summer at Studio 54. The swing revival from the late '90s will never be mentioned in any loving retrospectives despite some quality singles from Squirrel Nut Zippers, and though plenty of the bands from the era are still working and drawing crowds and sales, nobody ever really says, "You know what I miss? Nü metal!"
And then there's ska, or specifically the ska-punk revival that flooded the airwaves between 1993 and 1998. The micro-genre that blended the Third Wave sound of the...
