The mood on Monday was upbeat for actors, who felt that the end of their strike is near as talks between SAG-AFTRA and AMPTP resumed.
Several actors outside of Paramount Studios in Los Angeles told TheWrap that they believed a deal could come as early as that same day, or possibly by Friday, now that the WGA and the studios finally came to terms on ending the months-long writers’ strike.
“We feel like we see the end in sight,” said Anita Kalathara, whose credits include “Lady Bird” and “India Sweets and Spices.”
She and another actress were walking the line with a friend from the WGA. At least half of the picketers outside Paramount held picket signs that read “Wgaw Stands With SAG-AFTRA.” A former WGA strike captain said that the writers’ guild had had the new signs made to show their continued solidarity for the actors.

And so, having this chance to represent somebody that frankly, I didn’t have growing up… .”
She continued: “I couldn’t ever see myself being on network television as an actor because I didn’t see myself represented. So when this story came around and they were real about having a big, curvy, plus-size body dance — because there are amazing curvy...

On Saturday, a number of key creatives behind The Big Leap appeared for a virtual Atx panel, teasing the first season of their ballet-themed dramedy, which was just picked up to series in April.
Actress Teri Polo described the show as “this happy, good, hopeful thing”—an underdog story representing the kind of “feel-good” entertainment we all need a bit of right now.
“This show [is one] that doubled down on hope, that was funny, that was about dancing,” added creator-ep Liz Heldens. “I think it’s doing what we wanted it to do.”

Fox announced its fall schedule Monday, revealing that “9-1-1” universe fans will no longer be enjoying the shows back to back in the first half of the 2021-22 season, as spinoff “9-1-1: Lone Star” has been pushed to midseason.
Mondays this fall will still be anchored by “9-1-1” at 8 p.m., but will lead into the new Scott Foley-led drama “The Big Leap” in the 9 o’clock slot. However, that freshman series will wrap by midseason, when “Lone Star” will take over the “9-1-1” slot. Then the “9-1-1” series will be reunited, airing back to back once more, come March.
Fox’s Tuesdays are also seeing a change in pairings, following the recent cancellation of “Prodigal Son.” The now-renewed “The Resident” will keep its 8 o’clock hour, with the first season of Lee Daniels’ drama “Our Kind of People” closing primetime from 9-10.

"I didn't film that!" Another webcam horror! (Yet) Another Distribution Company (that's their name) has released an official trailer for an indie horror film called Untitled Horror Movie - yep, that's the real title for this, too. When six actors learn their TV show is about to be canceled, they decide to make their own film, unintentionally summoning a spirit with an affinity for violence. Untitled Horror Movie is another follow-up in the make-a-horror-film-over-Zoom craze (see: Host), at first mocking it, then becoming seriously scary as well. Or so it seems. The big ensemble cast features: Luke Baines, Darren Barnet, Tim Granaderos, Claire Holt, Katherine McNamara, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Kal Penn, Aisha Tyler, Kevin Daniels, Lesly Kahn and Sohm Kapila. It looks much funnier than it does scary, for better or worse. Check it out below. Here's...

Scott Foley and Teri Polo are taking a big leap to Fox.
Fox on Wednesday ordered to series a one-hour drama called The Big Leap.
The series was originally ordered to pilot last year, but it was scuppered due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The project is inspired by the UK docuseries Big Ballet and follows a group of diverse, down-on-their-luck characters attempting to change their lives by participating in a potentially life-ruining reality dance show that builds to a live production of Swan Lake.
What this group of underdogs lack in dance training, they make up for with their edge, wit, and desire to reimagine an iconic story to fit their own mold.

Fox has given a series order to hourlong pilot The Big Leap, starring Scott Foley, Teri Polo and Piper Perabo, from Liz Heldens, Jason Winer, Sue Naegle, 20th Television and Fox Entertainment.
The ballet-themed dramedy, which I hear has received a 10-episode order, had been an internal favorite. The pilot was met with enthusiastic reception by Fox executives which has been compared to the reaction at the network to the Glee pilot more than a decade ago. The pickup completes The Big Leap‘s six-year journey to the screen.

Filming on the Fox ballet-themed dramedy pilot The Big Leap was suspended two days ago following confirmed positive Covid-19 cases in a zone of the production that includes the cast as well as crew members who interact with the actors.
The positive test results came in through a routine screening, part of the strict health and safety protocols adopted by Disney TV Studios, whose unit 20th Television is producing The Big Leap.
Production in Chicago continues to be paused and will not resume today. No further decision has been made about the remaining approximately four days left to shoot. The pilot had completed 11 days of filming when the positive tests shut it down.

Fox’s ballet-themed comedy-drama pilot The Big Leap is taking the somewhat unusual step of recasting multiple roles at the 11th hour. And, yes, Covid is to blame.
According to Deadline, Covert Affairs vet Piper Perabo is replacing Laura Benanti (Supergirl, Nashville), while Kevin Daniels (Council of Dads) will be stepping in for Little Britain alum Matt Lucas. Both Benanti and Lucas exited tBig Leap due to scheduling conflicts brought on by the project’s pandemic-related production delay. Exclusive: Piper Perabo and Kevin Daniels have joined The Big Leap, Fox’s ballet-themed hourlong comedy-drama pilot, in recastings, and Mallory Jansen also is set as a lead in the project inspired by the UK reality series Big Ballet.

The show revolves around a group of diverse underdogs from all different walks of life who compete to be part of a competition reality series that is putting on a modern, hip remake of Swan Lake. What they lack in the traditional dancer body type, they make up for with their edge, wit and desire to reimagine an iconic story to fit their own mold.

Watch Zoom Cloud Hack - #91784 - The Tribe Murders: "In these trying times of Coronavirus, we wanted to stay creative and get weird. But not weird just for weird’s sake — weird as in The X-Files, The Twilight Zone and Black Mirror. The good kinda weird. And right now, there’s a platform that we believe to be rich in these stories: Zoom.
Matt and I were social distance talking at the beginning of the pandemic and realized that human beings are completely dependent upon technology as a means of communicating. More now than ever. And logically, we realized that even more crime would be moving over to... Zoom. In fact,...

That's a wrap on Council of Dads.
The season finale served as the series finale after NBC announced the show's premature cancellation.
On Council of Dads Season 1 Episode 10, we say goodbye to the Perry family way too soon.
It's possible the writers had a feeling they might not be renewed for another season, considering the way most of the storylines received closure.
But, that cliffhanger! It's now even more disappointing NBC chose to leave us hanging on that note.
Based on what we've learned about these characters, I'm pretty certain Larry chose not to drink after getting a text from Robin. But, we'll never know for sure.

Of course, he feels bad that he's the one...
