The Freddy Got Fingered rehabilitation campaign that commenced in earnest last year with actor/writer/director Tom Green extends now to the comedy critic ranks: "Freddy Got Fingered isn't a terrible movie -- it's just baffling and non-formulaic. It takes sight gags that feel like they could come from a silent film and it amps them up to utterly ridiculous proportions. It's downright visionary for Green to find a dead deer on the side of the road and put it on like a cape, or for Green to lick the exposed bone after his friend (Harland Williams) suffers a brutal skateboarding injury, or for Green to manually stimulate a horse while crying out, 'I'm a farmer, Daddy!' Yes, it's funny to jerk off of a horse, but it's also anti-comedy, comparable to Andy Kaufman or '70s Steve Martin. It just came out in a time in which anti-comedy wasn't ringing many people's bells.

On the eve of her expected Academy Awards triumph, Sandra Bullock won the 2009 Worst Actress Razzie for "All About Steve," while "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" received the Worst Picture award. If Bullock takes Best Actress for "The Blind Side," she will be the first person ever to win an Oscar and a Razzie over the same weekend. "She's in the unprecedented position, Saturday she's the worst, and the very next night, she's back on her feet, and she's the best," said Razzies founder John Wilson. "We certainly don't wish her ill at that other awards show." The "Transformers" sequel won two other Razzies, Worst Director for Michael Bay and Worst Screenplay for Ehren Kruger, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. Bay and his team probably will not lose any asleep over it since "Transformers 2" took in $402.1 million domestically to become the second higest grossing film of 2009, coming in only behind "Avatar.

Here’s an alternative award giving ceremony that those in Hollywood don’t like! The Golden Raspberry Awards (Razzies) always announce their awards right near the Oscar noms in a bid to steal some thunder and to remind us all that some movies suck! For the likes of Sly Stallone, it’s the gift that keeps on giving. He’s received most nominations in practically every category going! Some like Halle Berry (Worst Actress for Catwoman) and Paul Verhoeven (winner for Showgirls) have turned up at the ceremony and graciously accepted their awards. See? Some Hollywood folk do have a sense of humour!
Leading the pack this year is G.I. Joe, Land of the Lost, Hannah Montana and the controversial inclusion of R. Pattz and Kirstin Stewart. Here’s the full list of nominations:

We're less than 10 hours away from the 2010 Oscar Nominations (as of this posting), and as per usual, the Razzie Awards -- which celebrate the worst in cinema -- are announced the day before. And as usual, the Razzies nominate the most obvious movies -- the spectacularly bad popular movies, actors, and actresses (not that there's anything wrong with that). From a cursory glance at the nominees, it appears as though the same five movies dominate every category and Sandra Bullock may be the most nominated this year (ironic, since she'll also likely be nominated for an Oscar) for her role in All About Steve. Transformers 2, G.I. Joe, Old Dogs, New Moon and Land of the Lost are the other big titles on the list. There's really no excuse for leaving out Paul Blart or Year One, though.

The 2010 Razzie nominations were announced today. “Land of the Lost” and “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” led the pack with 7 nominations each, Sandra Bullock and Megan Fox will be battling it out for the Worst Actress Award.
Sandra Bullock expected to score an Academy Award nomination Tuesday for her hit drama “The Blind Side,” and
“She could be the first person ever to win a Razzie and an Oscar in the same weekend,”
said John Wilson, founder of the Golden Raspberry Awards, now in their 30th year of singling out Hollywood’s low points.
Other actors and actresses graced with nominations include Will Ferrell, Robert Pattinson, Eddie Murphy, John Travolta, Miley Cyrus, Beyonce, and Julie White who played Shia Labeouf’s mother in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Land of the Lost each grabbed seven nominations for the 2010 Golden Raspberry Awards (Razzies), an annual event recognizing the worst movies had to offer.
The Michael Bay sequel made $835 million worldwide and placed second at the U.S. box office in 2009 while the Will Ferrell “comedy” tanked in its summer release, earning only half its budget back in the States. Both are in the running for “Worst Picture” along with critically panned All About Steve, the campy G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, and the John Travolta/Robin Williams groaner Old Dogs.
Sandra Bullock was nominated for “Worst Actress of 2009″ for All About Steve literally the day before the Academy Awards announcements where she’s the front-runner for “Best Actress” in The Blind Side. No actor has ever been awarded both awards in the same year.

Forget about the Oscars for now, let's talk about the Razzies. One day before the prestigious Academy Awards nominations, the Golden Raspberry Awards noms have been announced and it ain't good for both "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" and "Land of the Lost." Both movies earned 7 nominations each.
"Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" received nominations for worst film, worst director for Michael Bay, worst screen couple (expanded to include both Shai LeBouf and Megan Fox or LeBouf and any Transformer), worst supporting actress, worst screenplay and worst remake/rip-off.
"Land of the Lost" also received seven nominations for Will Farrell as worst actor and worst screen couple, worst picture, director for Brad Silberling, remake/rip-off, screenplay and supporting actor for Jorma Taccone as Cha-Ka.
The Razzies also gave love to the worst of the decade which included Razzie-baits such as "Battlefield Earth" (2001), Tom Green's "Freddy Got Fingered" (2001), "Gigli" (2003), Lindsay Lohan...

Oscar's ugly little stepbrother Razzie announced his nominations this week for the worst movies and performances of 2009, and let's just say there's no shortage of stuff to choose from. The Golden Raspberry Awards are, of course, the annual awards that mock and ridicule all of the terrible blockbusters that we are forced to sit through in a year, and among the biggest offenders this year we have Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Land of the Lost, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, and Twilight Saga: New Moon. Transformers and Land of the Lost lead the pack with seven nominations each. In an interesting twist, it seems that Sandra Bullock is nominated for Worst Actress for her performance in All About Steve, which means she might actually have a shot at winning both Best Actress at the Oscars and Worst Actress at the Razzies in the same year. Now that's an achievement!

Pricking the balloon of pomposity The Golden Raspberry Award Foundation have been handing out the anti-Oscars for shockingly terrible acting, screenwriting and directing for the past thirty years, and their annual awards nominations have been announced.
Leading the field is a film is Transformers: Rotf, a film woefully lacking in plot and excitement that even the most sunset loving military fetishist left disappointed, and close on its heels is the less woeful but still pretty terrible G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra – it seems 2009 was a bad year for toy-based action blockbusters with a colon in the title.
Often dismissed as a spiteful or facetious exercise, the Razzies have gained some notoriety over the years, and even some credibility when the nominated stars turn up to accept the awards – Halle Berry’s appearance for Catwoman endeared her and somewhat made up for that execrable film.

‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ has dominated this year’s Razzie Awards with seven nominations. Michael Bay’s action movie – which stars Megan Fox and Shia Labeouf – is up for the largest number of gongs along with Will Ferrell’s flop ‘Land of the Lost’, which is also up for seven ‘honours’. Despite raking in a fortune at the box office, the ‘Transformers’ sequel is up for Worst Picture of 2009, while Fox is nominated in the Worst Actress category and her on-screen romance with Labeouf earned them a nod for Worst Screen Couple. Their co-star Julie White is up for Worst Supporting Actress, filmmaker Bay found himself on the shortlist for Worst Director, and the movie was also put forward for the Worst Remake, Rip-off or Sequel award and Worst Screenplay. The Razzies - which recognises the least impressive screen offerings of the year and is considered the antithesis of...

Michael Bay's robot epic and the Will Ferrell dinosaur dud have seven nominations each for the Golden Raspberry awards for the year's worst films
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Land of the Lost have both won the dubious distinction of seven nominations at this year's Golden Raspberry awards, which "honour" the worst in film-making.
Michael Bay's smash-hit robot epic, which has taken more than $800m (£503m) at the global box office, tied with Will Ferrell's dinosaur-battling dud for the most nods, including worst picture, worst screen couple, worst director and worst sequel, remake or rip-off.
All About Steve, a romcom starring Bradley Cooper and Sandra Bullock, received five nominations, as did GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra. What was the worst movie of 2009? According to the Razzie Award nominations, which were announced this morning, the five contenders for that title are G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra, Old Dogs, Land of the Lost, Transformers: Rise of the Fallen and All About Steve. That last film also featured one of the worst actresses of 2009: Sandra Bullock, who has otherwise had a more honorable year with Best Actress wins at the Golden Globes and the SAG Awards (and an expected Oscar nomination, to be announced tomorrow morning) for her dramatic turn in The Blind Side and a Best Actress Golden Globe nomination for The Proposal. Her competition for the Razzie includes Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Sarah Jessica Parker and Megan Fox (for both Jennifer's Body and the Transformers sequel).

We have to wait until tomorrow to hear the Academy Award nominations for 2009. While we await word on the year's best, we can certainly have fun with the year's worst.
Earlier today, the Razzie Awards announced their nominations. For the uninitiated, the Razzies have "celebrated" the most laughable, horrific, and jawdroppingly awful movies and performances each year since 1980. Past "winning" actors include Pauly Shore, Andrew Dice Clay, Madonna, Sylvester Stallone, and The Spice Girls. Past "winning" pictures include Showgirls, Battlefield Earth, Freddy Got Fingered, Gigli, and Catwoman.
This year, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Land of the Lost were singled out for shame, receiving seven nominations a piece. In the running for acting "honors" are The Jonas Brothers, Megan Fox, Miley Cyrus, and Steve Martin, among others.
Interestingly enough, Sandra Bullock may have a chance to win both an Academy Award and a Razzie in the same year, which no one has ever done.
