When injuries ended Sasha Cohen’s hopes for a second Olympic medal in 2010, the future felt uncertain.
A figure skater known for her elegant flexibility — her coach once said she was incapable of putting her body into an ugly position — Cohen says her life as an Olympian was “so clear.”
“I’d wake up every morning with a plan for the day, and the year, and the next four years,” the 33-year-old tells People. “I was on this train and everything else blurred on the side.”

The clock is ticking.
On The Blacklist’s fall finale, Liz (Megan Boone) desperately searches for her missing husband, Tom (Ryan Eggold), whose sudden disappearance prompts her to go into overdrive as she retraces his steps.
In Et’s exclusive sneak peek from Wednesday’s episode, Liz gets a tip about a “horrific” scene -- where Tom happened to be just moments prior -- with multiple homicides. Fearing the worst, she races to the bloody crime scene, where she becomes overwhelmed at the gruesome sight.
Liz’s fear that Tom may be dead becomes unbearable and the possibility of that reality becomes too much for her to comprehend. The sight of blood spatter is the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

Psychomania tells of a group of n’er-do-well teens, led by a rich and mean-spirited young man, who skip school, ride motorcycles, and cause trouble and general panic wherever they go. They dub themselves The Living Dead and enjoy causing death and chaos at nearly every turn. However, if things seem bad in the little English village in which they reside, they take a decided turn for the worse when Tom Latham (Nicky Henson) discovers his psychic mother and the mysterious butler Shadwell (George Sanders) harbor a shocking secret—the key to life after death.
It seems that Mrs. Latham (Beryl Reid) and her husband made a long-ago deal with the devil for immortality. The couple committed suicide only to come back from the dead. Unfortunately, the late Mr. Latham found out he wasn’t a true believer and never made it back across. But Mrs.

As much as we'd like to think so, not every day in the life of the President of the United States is going to be exciting.
And so was the case on Designated Survivor Season 1 Episode 14 where not a whole lot happened, but some interesting things came about.
Poor Tom Kirkman was certainly "outgunned" this hour by the appearance of President Ross. He really added some life to this hour, didn't he?
Tom was looking for some assurances that he was doing a good job, but Ross kind of kicked him in the gut. He didn't tell him he was doing a horrible job, he just said he wasn't doing what the job really required.
The whole exchange was quite humorous. Well, Ross' side of the conversation was. Tom's reaction was exactly what I expected. He was surprised but kept his mouth shut.

Pennsylvania police believe they have captured a serial child rapist whose victims could stretch back 40 years and who allegedly kept a home of horrors documenting his perversions, authorities announced on Monday.
Describing him as a “real-life bogeyman” and “trophy collector,” prosecutors said they arrested 58-year-old William Charles Thomas, a mobile home park handyman in Falls Township, Pennsylvania.
Thomas is charged with child pornography and dissemination of child pornography, according to court records obtained by People. If you were already over the presidential campaigns by this summer, we have some bad news because it seems that 2016 is the election season that will not end. Though the ballots have been cast and the formation of the new White House cabinet is already well under way, it’s become clear that it’s not just the American public who are not going to let this go so easily, but fashion designers as well. While many refuse to comment on the subject altogether, others are taking strong stances when it comes to whether or not they will personally be dressing our next Flotus,...

President Kirkman had to make some tough decisions on Designated Survivor Season 1 Episode 4 as he faced a resurgence of the problems in Michigan and an increased pressure to start war.
Tom may be "thoughtful and reasonable," but he's also become quite resolute. He's learning very quickly how to play the Washington game, and as he does so, he's becoming much more confident as Potus.
I think we can safely say that Tom Kirkman is no longer Mr. Nice Guy. That was a quick turnaround, wasn't it? I guess when you're running on only three hours of sleep and people are coming at you from all sides, you better do or die.
The nightmare of Michigan and Governor Royce reared its ugly head again after Royce saw the Vargas interview and learned that Kirkman was essentially fired from his job as Hud Secretary. It was just the kind of excuse he...

In this episode of Feed the Beast, "Father of the Year," Tommy goes to his estranged father with a business opportunity, Dion hustles to make a deadline, Pilar is put in a difficult position and a violent confrontation occurs.
Tommy may have decided to open a restaurant with Dion, but his attitude hasn't improved. He's still surly, still drinking and still hates his job as a wine rep. Talking about Thirio (beast) in the abstract and getting the money to make it a reality are two very different things, and one big obstacle stands between Tommy and Dion's Bronx-based Mediterranean restaurant: they've got no money. To get the funds, Tommy is going to have to deal with his father, whom he hasn't spoken to in 10 years, and the mere thought of facing his father has Tommy even more out of sorts than usual.

Well, hello there Evie! Tom may not know who you are — thus lacking any grasp on the magnitude of his discovery — but we sure do. And boy, do we have a few questions for you. Much like last season's penultimate episode ("The Garveys at Their Best"), "Ten Thirteen" provided a lot of background we didn't know we needed. Meg got her time to shine after only a single brief (but memorable) appearance earlier in the year, starting with her life-changing lunch the day before the departure, then running us all the way up to present day. Meg has not only gone Awol from the Guilty Remnant, but is orchestrating a violent "reminder" for October 14 — and only Tom can stop it. With a surprising number of cast members cleverly and carefully integrated into Meg's story, "Ten Thirteen" unveiled a threat possibly more potent than what caused Season 1's fiery finale. More importantly,...

Gotham, Season 1, Episode 8: ‘The Mask’
Written by Paul Edwards
Directed by John Stephens
Airs Mondays at 8pm Et on Fox
The season enters a new arc on Gotham as the fallout of last week’s episode, “Penguin’s Umbrella”, begins to take effect. Gordon tried to take down Falcone and failed, but managed to set an example of what a good cop is capable of and also shed a light on how inactive the Gotham City Police Department is, as none of his colleagues came to aid Gordon against Victor Zsasz. This brings out some interesting development between Gordon and Captain Sarah Essen, who regrets not braving the storm with him. The example that he has set has also affected Bullock, who’s now on Team Gordon, which is a highlight of the episode, in particular when Bullock gives a rallying speech to the Gcpd.

I have watched a lot of great television this year, yet few scenes in 2014 had the kind of physical effect on me like the closing minutes of the fourth episode of "Happy Valley," the BBC crime drama that Netflix added to its library back in August. As the scene went along, I stopped recording my usual notes and just stared at the television. I had to remind myself to take a breath a few times. I'm pretty sure I left my thumbprint permanently impressed to the underside of my desk from gripping it too hard at one point. It's a cliffhanger ending, and the Netflix interface meant that resolution was only a simple click away, yet I had to put the show on hold for a few hours just to get that moment out of my system. At that moment, I was in no condition to jump straight to the...

The Leftovers, Season 1, Episode 10, “The Prodigal Son Returns”
Written by Damon Lindelof & Tom Perrotta
Directed by Mimi Leder
Airs Sundays at 10pm Est on HBO
“He’s never coming for us, is he?”
Christine asks this to Tommy in regards to Wayne, but in a series that asks all the Big Questions by virtue of its premise, that’s not the whole story. Whether she realizes it or not, what Christine’s really wondering is if God is coming, and what’s remarkable here is that she could be speaking for every single character in the series, which just goes to show exactly how focused we have come since its strange beginnings.
In its first five episodes, The Leftovers danced around the Sudden Departure that ruled these characters’ lives. Now that it’s finally been being dealt with head on, both by the writers, and by the characters themselves, the real magic has been happening.

Lord Grantham's birthday party goes off without a hitch -- well, almost, on the latest episode of "Downton Abbey." Don't keep reading if you don't want to be spoiled.
Upstairs
Evelyn Napier and Charles Blake arrive. They're studying landed estates and whether or not they can continue in the current climate. Blake is of the opinion that they have no place anymore and Lady Mary bristles at his attitude, being delightfully sharp with him.
This is a romance we can perhaps get behind, as long as they don't rush it. Lady Mary is always at her best when she's being smart and biting (she's much like Granny Violet that way), so their tension is fun. It's reminiscent of her and Matthew, without being a retread of that plot.
Meanwhile, Cousin Isobel is running around like a combination of Sarah Bernhardt and Miss Marple, solving the case of the missing letter opener for Lady Violet.

As a writer on the internet, one of the worst things you can do is read the comments left on your work. Even for the least neurotic among us, comments left by others make you question your own original feelings and opinions. Reviews are meant to stir debate and discussion, certainly, but after last week’s review, I was surprised at the overwhelming negativity directed towards the opening episode of Peaky Blinders. I certainly questioned whether I was too effusive in my praise for the programme. Having now seen the second episode, I can safely say I feel reassured in my original assertions that this is one of the best BBC dramas in a while.

Straight away, Josh Thomas wants you to understand one thing: He is awkward. From the very first moments in the premiere of his six-episode Australian import "Please Like Me" (premiering in one fell swoop on Thursday (Aug. 1) at 8 p.m. Et), he makes this abundantly clear.
"Why can't I ever just let myself properly enjoy things? Why can't I ever just be in the moment, you know?I know today is brilliant. It's sunny, we're in the first world, we just ordered a $19 sundae. You know, delicious. But all I can think about is my rubbish face. I'm obsessing. I'm turning 21 soon and this is as good as my face is ever going to get. This is it. It's all downhill from here."
Right after that? His girlfriend dumps him. Oh, and tells him she thinks he's gay. Like I said, awkward.
During the ramp up to the show (and Pivot's) launch,...

Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas may have found their next gig.
The remaining members of hip-hop girl group TLC are reportedly featured on J. Cole's upcoming album, "Born Sinner."
"I got TLC on the album, T-Boz and Chilli," Cole told BBC 1Xtra. Cole's second studio album will also feature a collaboration with Miguel. "Born Sinner" will hit stores on June 18 -- a date Cole picked to directly compete with the release of Kanye West's upcoming album, "Yeezus."
Watkins and Thomas are reuniting in July for a performance at Hershey, Penn.'s Mixtape Festival. The women are readying a new album, hyped for a release later this year. The project will be the first album of new material that TLC will release since 2002 when the group debuted "3D."

I admit I was a bit underwhelmed with "Unfinished Business" as it unfolded.
Most likely because it held a lot of, well, unfinished business. Water over which we've already rowed. We knew the stories, aired the differences and fought the fights. Until I got my A-ha moment.
It as another wasted moment for poor Seth Gabel as The Count. He was more like the Sesame Street character than any super villain, and they didn't even try to fool us into thinking otherwise for more than about thirty seconds. Even our dandy Detective Lance decided Tommy Merlyn had more of a criminal mind than the Count.
Yes, we were back to the crap with Det. Lance hunting down any male who's nether regions has come within a city block of his daughter in the hope of locking him away for good. Damn, that is one old story. Old as dust. How...

As if Arrow's titular hero didn't have enough problems to deal with while attempting to rid Starling City of villains, now he has to worry that his best friend Tommy may reveal his true identity. Ruh-roh.
Oliver (Stephen Amell) was forced to reveal the truth to Tommy (Colin Donnell) in order to save Tommy's father, Malcolm (John Barrowman) — though Oliver later admitted that he never planned to let Tommy in on his secret. Ouch. Tommy is now the third person to discover Oliver's alter ego is the vigilante formally known as the Hood.

Community, Season 4, Episode 6: “Advanced Documentary Filmmaking”
Written by Hunter Covington
Directed by Jay Chandrasekhar
Airs Thursdays at 8pm Et on NBC
It’s probably unfair to keep comparing Community’s fourth season to the three that proceeded it. At this point, it has become painfully clear that this is a very different show. Yet it would be hard to argue that the show isn’t inviting those comparisons. That is clearly case with tonight’s episode, a sequel to two previous episodes that had been scripted by Megan Ganz. The surprise twist this week is that while it may not up to the standards of those episodes, “Advanced Documentary Filmmaking” is not doing them a disservice.
It’s certainly the most cohesive episode of the season to date. The premise brings all the characters together which helps because several episodes this season have felt like they possessed one good...

Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell raised $2m through Kickstarter yesterday, and they did it in under 10 hours. As of this morning, their effort to score a budget for a Veronica Mars movie has secured their goal with about $500,000 and 29 days to spare. One guy, entrepreneur Steve Dengler, even gave $10,000 to the production to get a small speaking role in the film (and because he’s a big, big supporter of crowdfunding). What they did took a certain kind of courage. Maybe not greater courage than the more-standardized model of getting money from fans when they hand it over at the box office, but absolutely a different type of courage. After all, it’s one nerve-wracking thing to convince studio executives that your idea has an audience, but it’s another to prove it out on the limb without the amount of fan support you thought you had. Simply put, it’s likely we’d all be writing...

Megan Hunt had "Mob Mentality" stalk into her morgue and threaten her this week - but in true Megan fashion, she didn't flinch. As much as I loved her bravado, perhaps she might want to take a little of Tommy's advice.
As Tommy tells her in this Body of Proof quote right before the bullets start flying….
Tommy: You might want to dress down when we go into a bad area.
Megan: Like I'm going to take fashion advice from somebody who owned a Member's Only tuxedo | permalink
Admittedly, anyone who wore Member's Only has questionable fashion sense, but he did have a point. Tight skirts and high heels are bound to stand out in dark alleys and sometimes it's simply smarter to blend in. But Megan really doesn't care about fitting in. She cares about getting the job done and luckily she's got Tommy there to protect her when the shots are fired.

He's been off-camera for a few episodes, but in this week's (even more incredible than usual) episode of "Arrow," Tommy Merlyn is back in the spotlight. "Dead to Rights" shines new light on Tommy and Oliver's life-long friendship, with unexpected insight into the boys' childhood, particularly after Tommy's mother's death. When Oliver discovers that Deadshot -- who is a deadlier shot than ever, thanks to his new mechanical eye -- has Malcolm Merlyn in his crosshairs, his vigilante alter-ego has to get closer to Tommy than ever before. Which, of course, isn't particularly easy, given Tommy's general disdain for the Hood.
"[The Hood] is doing it for good, but he's using tactics that are reprehensible in a lot of ways," Colin Donnell told us when we visited the "Arrow" cast on set earlier this month. As for the scene in the pilot when a dazed Tommy may have seen Oliver take out their kidnappers,...

Downton Abbey, Episode 3.2
Written by Julian Fellows
Directed by Andy Goddard
As Downton Abbey is prone to do, its latest installment gave with one hand, took with the other, and dragged its feet on other matters best resolved sooner rather than later. When Edith extols, “something happening in this house is actually about me,” it’s easy to imagine scores of Edith supporters bobbing their heads up and down and crossing their fingers that this means brighter days ahead for the quieter Crawley daughter. Edith hasn’t always been an angel. Since her introduction, she’s often represented the agent of spite or envy and served as a complication in already difficult situations.
As time went on, Edith managed to grow up some and to prove herself a more helpful figure, but she has yet to overcome her symbolic pitifulness in the shadow of her more spirited sisters. While this...

There’s little in television more disappointing than predictability. Some might argue that audiences need to be allowed to predict the events that will unfold in front of them for their own personal satisfaction, to prove their theories are correct and to provide the sense of satisfaction that comes with such prophetic fulfilment. I call bullshit on this theory.
Audiences want to be challenged, surprised, constantly kept on their toes. So when you bring in a new antagonistic force in the third season of a largely successful crime drama in a period setting based around real life characters and actual historical events, the end result can only be one of very things. And sadly enough, Gyp Rosetti’s demise was disappointingly foreseeable. One might argue that there was no place left for his character to go after losing the backing of big time gangster Joe Massaria...

This story may contain spoilers. In its young life, "Arrow" has proven to be The CW's top-rated show despite the most of the villains facing hero Oliver Queen have been simple businessmen. This is about to change in a big way. Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg tells The Hollywood Reporter that plans are already underway to add some superheroes and even some super-villains to the upcoming second half of the show's first season. The mysterious "Well-Dressed Man," played by "Torchwood" alum John Barrowman, has already appeared in a few episodes. There are interesting possibilities with his character, now that it has been shown that he is the father of Oliver's best friend, Tommy Merlyn (Colin Donnell). It is speculated that Tommy may be the "Mystery Archer," which is another ...

Can’t Hardly Wait. Arizona took her first steps towards recovery in getting fitted for a prosthetic. This is huge for an amputee. Like we discussed in “Love The One You’re With," mean Arizona is no fun. The way she is acting is very understandable, but you can’t help but feel bad for Callie. The woman lost her best friend/father of her baby and her wife’s leg from the same accident. Having Alex talk to Arizona definitely made a difference. These two work well together; Robbins has made him softer and it’s a huge improvement.
The best part about Arizona moving forward was meeting her doctor. It took me a second to place him,...
