Four more network pilots have landed casting directors, Backstage has learned. CBS’ new comedy pilot “Bad Teacher” will be cast by Bruce H. Newberg. Based on the 2011 Cameron Diaz film of the same name, the pilot is written and executive-produced by Hilary Winston (“Community”) and also executive-produced by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, who were behind the film. The show focuses on a foul-mouthed divorcée who lands a job as a teacher because she wants to scout for a new husband. The casting for the network’s newest drama pilot, “The Ordained,” will be handled by Risa Bramon Garcia, with New York casting controlled by Bernard Telsey. There are plans to begin shooting in March in New York. Two promising cable pilots featuring crusading character tag-teams have found casting directors. Lifetime's "Stalkers," which shoots in November, will be cast by Los Angeles-based Bruce H. Newberg, Backstage has learned. The 90-minute movie and backdoor pilot is set to star Drea De Matteo, formerly of ABC's "Desperate Housewives," and veteran TV actor Jodi Lynn O'Keefe. The drama follows a police officer (De Matteo) and a district attorney (O'Keefe) who team up to bring a stalker obsessed with her ex-lover to justice. The new FX drama "The Bridge" also has a casting director attached. Rebecca Mangieri and Wendy Weidman, of Sherman Oaks-based Creative Casting, will cast pilot, which also shoots in November. The plot revolves around El Paso Police Homicide Detective Sonya North, played by Diane Kruger, who teams with a Mexican detective, played by Demián Bichir, to stop a cross-border serial killer. The pilot will be directed by acclaimed Mexican director Gerardo Naranjo.

Two CW drama pilots have casting directors under contact, Back Stage has confirmed.Bruce H. Newberg will cast "First Cut," a medical drama from CBS Studios focusing on a new intern who finds the hospital where she works strikingly similar to high school, socially speaking. Plans are to get under way in mid March. Newberg was the casting director for TNT's long-running series "The Closer," which is in its final season. He's also working on the spin-off, "Major Crimes," which starts shooting this month. "The Selection," will shoot in Vancouver, but it's being cast in Los Angeles by Barbara Stordahl and Angela Terry. The pilot, from Warner Bros. Television, is set 300 years in the future. The protagonist is a poor woman who is chosen to compete in a contest, the winner of which will be crowned queen of a war-torn nation. No shoot date has been set yet. Stordahl/Terry also.
